Visited on December 30, 2021, around 7:15 am. I decided to visit "Bakery & Restaurant Sawamura" located on the 2nd floor of Newman Shinjuku for a quick takeout from the bakery. However, since the restaurant was empty, I decided to switch to having a cafe experience there. I was seated at a 4-person table by a female staff member. I was informed that the time limit for the visit was within 1 hour. I asked about the bakery products, but was told that they are separate and cannot be provided in the restaurant. The staff member, T, who assisted us was very polite and explained everything kindly. Thank you. The menu prominently featured French toast as a recommended item, but since I had it recently, I opted for something else. Initially, I ordered the Bolognese hot sandwich, but the staff mentioned that they also have a ham and egg hot sandwich available, which I ordered instead. ★ Ham and Egg Hot Sandwich 680 yen ★ Sawamura Blend Hot Coffee 440 yen were my orders. The drink was ordered as a set, with a 100 yen discount. Water was self-service with paper cups provided. The interior had a French bistro design with large windows, high ceilings, and a bright and cozy atmosphere. At this point, the window tables were occupied, but overall, the place was about half full. It seemed that many customers were ordering the French toast, which appeared to be a popular item during cafe time. With the bus terminal in the same building, it seemed like many people were using the cafe to adjust their time before departure. The order was served in about 10 minutes, almost simultaneously with the coffee. The hot sandwich was served piping hot, wrapped in paper like a burger. It was delicious with ham, egg, and cheese. Around 7:30 am, the number of customers suddenly increased, and all table seats were filled. I decided to leave at this point. It was a great cafe experience, and I left feeling full, so I'll try the bakery next time!

I went on a Sunday afternoon and there were about 10 groups waiting in line. The bread was delicious and the meat was incredibly generous. When going with two people, one could get the salad plate and the other could get the meat to share. The lunch prices are a bit high, but considering the portion size and quality, it's worth it. I will definitely go back.

I went to have tea after dining at Din Tai Fung. When I asked if it was okay to use the cafe, they said it was fine. However, even for cafe use, they still brought out a bread charge system, which I didn't really need since I was already full. I just wanted tea and dessert. They explained that there was a 60-minute or 90-minute time limit, but it felt like there wasn't enough time to eat the bread in between. Many people seemed to take their bread to go, and they even provided plastic bags for that, but the overall operation felt a bit off. The service was not necessarily bad, but the explanations were fragmented and the overall restaurant experience felt lacking in some way. The reviews seemed to be divided into takeout bread (on the right side) and restaurant (on the left side), which was a bit confusing. I had bought just the bread before and it was delicious, so the gap between that and the restaurant experience was quite noticeable. The chocolate cake was tasty, and the bread I took home was good too, but I realized that no matter what system is in place, it all comes down to how it is explained. Perhaps due to the location, even with a somewhat salty system, the cafe would still be full on holidays, but my cafe experience left me feeling unsatisfied. Thank you for the meal!

Had lunch with friends at Sawamura-san (^^) - Sparkling wine - Salad - Crab and green vegetable cannelloni The cannelloni was full of crab flavor, packed with green vegetables (moroheiya?), and was incredibly delicious! A bit spicy, dipping the sauce with bread was also good. - Various breads All were delicious, but the focaccia and nut and dried fruit bread were especially tasty! I also bought some delicious-looking bread for takeout at the bakery across the street, so happy~♡ Will definitely come back!! Thank you for the meal! (^O^)

Popular Sawamura for breakfast. Arrived on Sunday morning just after 8 am and already a line. Seating is limited to 1 hour. Luckily, we were able to enter right away as the previous group left. Ordered a French toast set and a bacon and eggs set to share. The bacon was thickly sliced and deliciously crispy. The sausage was also tasty and had a nice crunch. A breakfast with delicious meat is always good. The toast was a simple, slightly firm bread that paired well with the eggs and butter. The French toast was sweet, generously coated with sugar. Ah, it must be meant to be paired with the tangy fromage blanc cream. The coffee was robust, reminiscent of a classic coffee shop. A hearty breakfast to start the day with plenty of energy. Thank you for the meal.

I went out to Shinjuku and decided to have an early dinner at around 4:45 pm. While waiting at the entrance, I was shown the menu and found out that they still had lunch menu available until 5 pm. I ordered the Minestrone set (with salad and bread) and the Grilled Fish Soup Pescatore set (with salad and bread). The bread was delicious and you could have seconds, but be careful not to eat too much before the main dish arrives. The Minestrone was packed with ingredients and the meat was tender. The salad was just the right amount. The fish of the day was salted mackerel, and the bouillabaisse soup was served with it. I thought maybe regular mackerel would be better than salted mackerel for this dish. They also had hamburgers on the lunch menu until 5 pm, but they were already sold out. I would like to come back and have an early lunch again if possible. Thank you for the meal.

I went at 11:30 on a weekday and there was a line. I had to wait for an hour. But it was worth it because the bread was delicious and you can have seconds. The minestrone soup had meat in it and was very filling. I left feeling happy and satisfied. Lunchtime after 1pm is less crowded.

Around 11:00 on September 2, 2023, there was a one-hour wait at the store (about 15 people). They accept cash, credit, and PayPay. This popular restaurant in NEWoMan always has a long line on weekends, especially during lunchtime. Their lunch menu includes all-you-can-eat bread, allowing you to enjoy various types of bread. Their coffee is excellent, making the lunch experience feel special. I recommend it if you want to have a special lunch. For lunch, I ordered the Pork Loin Bistecca, Chicken Thigh Roast Coconut Curry, Iced Coffee, and Iced Tea for 4,286 yen. The Pork Loin Bistecca is a Western-style pork cutlet with a sweet and luxurious taste that enhances the lunch experience. They serve a different type of bread each time, and I enjoyed 12 different varieties this time. I was disappointed that the Ash Parmentier was sold out, so I hope to try it next time.

This was my first time dining here, and it exceeded my expectations. The menu had a variety of dishes that paired well with bread, and the portion sizes were a bit small, but it was great to be able to order a variety of dishes to share. There were plenty of cocktail and wine options as well. The Bismarck pizza was especially delicious, and I would love to try other pizzas in the future.

The combination of bread and salad is the best! The coffee after the meal is delicious too! The atmosphere is nice and it's easy to go in alone! Women will definitely be pleased! Next time, I want to try the hamburger too. The menu is simple but it's hard to choose! Definitely coming back again.

I stopped by Busta Shinjuku to have tea while waiting for time. In the evening, I was told it was okay to just have tea, so I had tea instead of a meal. By the way, all the bread items were sold out. I was surprised that the Ice Earl Grey was only 500 yen, and it came in a large glass with plenty inside. I was able to relax very slowly. I'd like to try their food next time.

On Sundays, there was a line forming even before the store opened, and when I went around opening time, I was told there was a 90-minute wait and couldn't get in on the first round. The Ash Parmentier (left) was amazing with only one left on the second round, with soft beef stew layered under the mashed potatoes. It was fantastic!! The grilled fish (right) was also delicious with a hint of olives, very tender, and the soup went perfectly with the bread. If you go on a holiday, you should go before the store opens!

A bakery with its main store in Karuizawa. Located in a great spot directly connected to the JR Shinjuku Station New South Exit ticket gate. I always end up buying their croque-monsieur and raisin bread when I see them. They are very filling. There are two types of raisin bread, both with deliciously moist raisins. The café opens at 7 am. The food looks delicious too! I would love to use the café in a stylish way.

Youth and embarrassing words like that often appear in our house. This is because my husband is a train enthusiast. In the summer, it's a tradition to use the "Seishun 18 Ticket," a set of 5 JR train tickets that allow unlimited rides on local trains for a day. The first two tickets are for personal use by my husband, the next two are for a day trip to Gunma on the Hachiko Line, and the last two are for a trip to Osaka with an overnight stay using all local trains. In the past, we used to make use of the Seishun 18 Ticket to go to Gifu on the Moonlight Nagara train, but it was discontinued in 2021 due to the pandemic. Now, we travel west by transferring trains on the Tokaido Main Line. We exchanged JRE points for Green Car tickets to Atami, so we can enjoy a leisurely journey. We bought sandwiches at a shop in Shinjuku Station early in the morning and boarded the train on time at 7:16. We enjoyed our breakfast on the train, consisting of a hunting ham and cheese sandwich for me, a Yamayama Tamago sandwich for my husband, and a lemon Danish for me. The sandwiches were packed full of ingredients and were delicious, although a bit difficult to eat due to their size. The combination of sausage-like ham, lettuce, cucumber slices, and cheddar cheese, along with a sauce made of honey, mustard, and olive oil, created a flavorful and satisfying meal. The sandwiches were a bit pricey but had a good balance of volume and taste, making them a great start to our journey.

At lunch, I wanted to go to Sawamura, so I left early, but there was a long line. I barely managed to get a seat at the counter for the first round. After some thought, I chose pig's feet and minced meat cutlet with balsamic sauce. There was a really good-looking couple sitting across from me at the counter, which made the view enjoyable. After admiring them for a while, the minced meat cutlet arrived. It was bigger than I expected. When I cut into it, the meat juice overflowed. This raised my expectations. I took a bite. It was piping hot, almost burning. Wow, this is delicious. I thought it would be heavier, but it's just right. The balsamic sauce goes well with the vegetables. They also served plenty of bread, so I'm quite full. Oh, it was so tasty.

After shopping with my family in Shinjuku, we went for a late lunch. It was crowded on a Saturday, and we waited in line for about 40 minutes. But it was worth it as the food was delicious! I had mackerel and mussels for the seafood dishes, and for the chicken dish, crispy chicken with green curry sauce. It was a surprising but tasty combination! When I asked for more bread at the end, they brought out cranberry and red bean and kinako bread, both with flavors that really stood out. Even though I was already full, I couldn't resist and finished them quickly. I would love to go back to Karuizawa again!

Nice salad for 1450 yen, Chorizo for 880 yen, Quattro Formaggi for 1700 yen, Amber Ebisu for 880 yen. I arrived at 9:20 PM and was informed that last order for food would be in 10 minutes, so I quickly took my seat. (I was told that last order for drinks would be at 10 PM, but it was changed to 9:50 PM due to cleanup). The bread was delicious, especially the Quattro Formaggi. The salad was also luxurious, voluminous, and tasty. There were many other attractive dishes on the menu, so I would like to visit again at an earlier time.

The restaurant is directly connected to the station, but it feels like it's connected to other shops and the entrance is hard to find. No one came to guide us, and overall the hospitality was lacking, especially considering the 550 yen service charge. I thought they offered free bread refills or that bread was included with the meal, but I couldn't find any information about the basic bread assortment (although the bread refill price was listed). I ordered the Baker's Pizza with Shinshu mushrooms and salmon. It came with thick, chewy bread and plenty of cheese, which was quite greasy. Whether this is good or not is subjective. It was definitely tasty, but I'm not sure if it was worth the price. It seems like I may have had too high expectations.

I arrived at Sawamura Bakery Restaurant near Shinjuku Station after 9 o'clock, and was seated right away. I ordered a set menu with the restaurant closing at 10 o'clock. Coffee was served first, followed by the main toast set about 30 minutes later. The coffee had cooled down by then, and I wished they had brought them out together. I couldn't drink lukewarm coffee, so I asked a female staff member to reheat the coffee, which she kindly did. The warm coffee was good, and the bacon was thick and tasty. The toast also had a natural taste without any additives. I am grateful to the female staff member. Thank you.

At around 1:30 on a regular day, with about 2 groups waiting, we were seated at the counter in about 10 minutes. I ordered the Salad Lunch - Greek-style salad with seasonal fruits and feta cheese for ¥1815, which came with minestrone soup and bread. I also added an iced coffee for an additional ¥385. For the main course, I had the Crab and Green Vegetable Cannelloni for ¥1903, which came with salad, bread, and an iced tea for an extra ¥385. The seasonal fruit in the salad was American cherries and it was very generous. The salad and bread combo was personally my best lunch choice, but I think I may have made a slight mistake in my salad choice. I ended up eating a lot of greens!笑
