Visited on December 30, 2021, around 7:15 am. I decided to visit "Bakery & Restaurant Sawamura" located on the 2nd floor of Newman Shinjuku for a quick takeout from the bakery. However, since the restaurant was empty, I decided to switch to having a cafe experience there. I was seated at a 4-person table by a female staff member. I was informed that the time limit for the visit was within 1 hour. I asked about the bakery products, but was told that they are separate and cannot be provided in the restaurant. The staff member, T, who assisted us was very polite and explained everything kindly. Thank you. The menu prominently featured French toast as a recommended item, but since I had it recently, I opted for something else. Initially, I ordered the Bolognese hot sandwich, but the staff mentioned that they also have a ham and egg hot sandwich available, which I ordered instead. ★ Ham and Egg Hot Sandwich 680 yen ★ Sawamura Blend Hot Coffee 440 yen were my orders. The drink was ordered as a set, with a 100 yen discount. Water was self-service with paper cups provided. The interior had a French bistro design with large windows, high ceilings, and a bright and cozy atmosphere. At this point, the window tables were occupied, but overall, the place was about half full. It seemed that many customers were ordering the French toast, which appeared to be a popular item during cafe time. With the bus terminal in the same building, it seemed like many people were using the cafe to adjust their time before departure. The order was served in about 10 minutes, almost simultaneously with the coffee. The hot sandwich was served piping hot, wrapped in paper like a burger. It was delicious with ham, egg, and cheese. Around 7:30 am, the number of customers suddenly increased, and all table seats were filled. I decided to leave at this point. It was a great cafe experience, and I left feeling full, so I'll try the bakery next time!
