We used a private room. In the next room, a maiko was performing, adding to the enjoyable atmosphere. The course meals came out very quickly, possibly because we were running a bit late for our reservation. The menu included a variety of seafood, meat, vegetables, and noodles, which we all enjoyed. Overall, we were very satisfied and would love to visit again according to the season.

I visited this restaurant for a family wedding reception. I was overwhelmed by the atmosphere starting from the charming entrance! Oh, I feel so lucky to have been born in Japan! The food was delicious, as expected from a famous place! The staff were very kind and made the dining experience very enjoyable. When I visited two days before the reception to prepare for the performance, they were very polite and accommodating. The ambiance, food, and staff were all wonderful! If you are going to Kyoto, I highly recommend making a reservation here! I heard that even members of the Imperial Family have dined here! The first floor restroom was also beautifully renovated!

After the memorial service, we had a dinner party. We were able to relax in a private room. The building had a historical feel and the service was very Kyoto-like, with a gentle touch. The room had a view of a courtyard, and even though it was a cold day, the heating was sufficient. The food was delicious, except for the tempura. We were very full. I would definitely like to use this place again. 3.21

The day I visited, there were also geisha guests and lively voices could be heard. Passing by a cute geisha in the hallway, I felt the essence of Kyoto. It seems that even Crown Prince Akishino visited here over a decade ago. Although it may be old, you can enjoy a leisurely meal in a private room at a surprisingly reasonable price.

We used it with about 30 people. The ingredients were colorful and abundant. There were some dishes and presentations that made us wonder what they were and how to eat them. Each dish had a unique seasoning, making it a course that never got boring. Of course, it was delicious. The old restroom was a bit of a concern, but it might also add to the charm.

When you go deeper into Maruyama Park, you will find a splendid establishment that exudes a sense of history, away from the hustle and bustle of Gion. The interior is spacious, with a large hall where you can relax comfortably. Starting with sashimi, we enjoyed a kaiseki meal while sipping beer. The large clams were delicious and left a lasting impression. It was a time to fully enjoy the atmosphere of Kyoto.

From Yasaka Shrine to Maruyama Park, it is still bustling with tourists. I am also like a tourist, so I have to be careful not to look down on Japanese tourists abroad. On this day, I was looking for a place to have lunch in the area after lunchtime. I came across a traditional Japanese restaurant with a beautiful garden and elegant entrance. The restaurant only had bento boxes available, so I decided to try it. The interior of the restaurant was beautifully decorated, and I was led to a spacious private room. The bento box was well presented, with fresh sashimi and a warm miso soup. The rice was a bit soft for my liking, but overall, I was satisfied with the experience, including the atmosphere, decor, and service.

You can enjoy authentic Kyoto cuisine in the back of Maruyama Park. The atmosphere is nice and the building and rooms are spacious. It is better for those with difficulty walking to take a taxi to the restaurant. The landlady has appeared in TV commercials.

I visited this restaurant for a gathering. It was located east of the main gate of Yasaka Shrine, up the road. Passing through the impressive gate and walking on the stone pavement, I entered the shop... It was a tranquil space with a traditional atmosphere. The dishes included: edamame with sea urchin, assorted sashimi, grilled sea bream, red clam, spiny lobster, conger eel and fish noodles, grilled sea bass wrapped in leaves, mackerel sushi, boiled shrimp, boiled beans, sweetened river fish, white miso salad, fried vegetables, Yomogi mochi with shrimp, simmered taro, octopus, and pumpkin (including octopus eggs), bonito tataki, rice with beans, pickles, melon, and cherries. I left feeling quite full. It was a classic Kyoto kaiseki meal with a variety of beautiful dishes. The modernization of the restroom would have been a nice touch, but overall, it was a great restaurant.

I went for the first time based on a friend's recommendation! It was located in the upper part of Maruyama Park, so it was a bit hard to find. It was a cold day, so I took a taxi from Kyoto Station, which was a good decision because I might have gotten lost if I had walked there. However, this quietness is something you can't experience in the bustling Gion district! This time, I went for dinner. The menu included an aperitif, assorted appetizers, sashimi, grilled fish, steamed dish, vinegar dish, soup, rice with dried fish and red miso soup. Everything had a Kyoto-like flavor and was delicious! Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. I would definitely recommend this place and plan to take my friends from overseas there next time.

I went with my mothers at the invitation of my aunt in Kyoto. We enjoyed a seasonal kaiseki meal in private rooms within an old building, which was a delightful experience. During the cherry blossom season, although Maruyama Park was crowded with people enjoying hanami, the restaurant provided a quiet and serene atmosphere. The kaiseki meal, incorporating seasonal ingredients, was visually and taste-wise delicious. We had a leisurely spring lunch. Lunch prices for dim sum are relatively reasonable. The restaurant is also frequently used for weddings and other events.

We use it regularly for social gatherings. Once a year... it can accommodate around 80 people for a banquet, and it's close to a training venue. The location is excellent. The staff are all attentive and it has a very nice atmosphere. However, this time, the sashimi was a bit... disappointing. Someone from the coastal area of Hokkaido said they couldn't eat it just by looking at it. It was well presented and the appetizers were delicious. But maybe it's difficult to handle an 80-person banquet in the summer? I remember it being very delicious when I went with a small group before. So... I'll look forward to next year. +*:゚+。.☆

My mother ordered osechi for New Year's at my parents' house. Originally, it was planned for six people - my parents, my family of three, and my aunt - to eat the three-tiered osechi. However, due to COVID, my sister's family of five couldn't come, so we suddenly had more people and not enough osechi. We ended up adding dishes like simmered black beans, homemade osechi from my sister, and the yam pickle I requested. It was a chaotic rush to prepare more food, but we managed to enjoy it all together. The large lobster that I usually eat was given to my nephew, who struggled to eat it properly, asking if the legs and shell were edible. It was a bit noisy with everyone requesting more food and my nephew even mistaking a seashell decoration for actual food. Despite the chaos, the osechi was delicious and satisfying, with a good balance of flavors.
