This time, I tried the Fig Tart for 600 yen. It has a multi-layered pastry crust with baked figs, including fig leaves for added flavor. The almond cream has a refreshing Japanese flavor, with a green tint that adds to the overall taste. I also had a Rhubarb Tart the day before, which had a cookie-like crust. The texture of the tart crust varies depending on the season, filling, or perhaps the mood of the chef. Each time I eat a tart, I look forward to the unique texture. I also recommend their Scones, Financiers, and Canelés, which I often come back for.

Today, I visited the bakery to purchase the popular focaccia that is only available on Fridays and Saturdays. I bought the Rhubarb Macaron for 300 yen, which was absolutely delicious. I usually don't like macarons, but this one was just perfect with its slightly tart rhubarb jam and milky macaron shell. It was a delightful surprise how tasty macarons can be. I also got the Rhubarb Galette for 600 yen, which I reheated and enjoyed later that night. The smell of butter was amazing, and the rhubarb jam was delicious. The galette had a soft center where the jam was and a crispy edge with plenty of butter. It was like a perfect tart that kept surprising me with every bite. I couldn't resist getting the Focaccia for 370 yen, which was a special item during the anniversary celebration. It was rich and flavorful, with a chewy texture. I made a sandwich with ham, cream cheese, and tomato, and it was so filling. I also bought the Canele for 300 yen and Financier for 280 yen, which I always enjoy. All the pastries and sweets at this bakery are light and delicious. It's clear that the quality of their products is unmatched by others. Every time I try something new, I realize that I can only get this level of taste at this bakery. It's a mix of happiness and a bit of sadness knowing that I won't be satisfied with other places anymore.

- Located in Hachiman City, Kyoto Prefecture, this bakery has two tables and 2-3 counter seats by the window, making it possible to dine in. On a rainy day, I opted for takeout as the parking lot seemed a bit far. The bakery displayed a variety of baked goods such as pastries and bread. Instead of the typical bread oven seen in bakery videos, they used a convection oven commonly found in school cafeterias or restaurants, which was a refreshing change. The Canele for 380 yen was a must-try based on reviews, and it did not disappoint. The outer layer was crispy, while the inside was soft with a perfect hint of caramel bitterness. Definitely worth trying the same day. The Carrot Cake for 450 yen was pleasantly cold and had a substantial volume. Made with one-third organic carrots, ginger, and walnuts, it had a mature flavor. The Baguette for 380 yen was freshly baked, dense, with a bubbly surface and a pleasant sweet and sour taste. It had a chewy texture reminiscent of a country loaf. The Latte for 450 yen was delicious. The iced version had a sharp bitterness followed by a delightful aroma, while the hot version had a smooth texture. A luxurious morning treat. The Sourdough Bread 1/2 for 550 yen had a stylish appearance, was crispy on the outside, and chewy on the inside. It had a stronger acidity compared to the baguette but was also great for making sandwiches. I would love to try other baked goods and enjoy a latte or espresso slowly at the shop.

You can enjoy delicious bread and coffee in a stylish store where you can relax. It was quite difficult to find a parking space around. It's not allowed to park on the street or at the co-op, as it will cause trouble for the shop. Takeout for a short time is fine. The road is wide. I had a baguette and it was really delicious.

I took a break at a stylish new store that opened this year and had been curious about on Instagram. Even though I was hungry, I couldn't resist the baked goods and chose the carrot cake and canelé. I also ordered an iced Americano. As a fan of carrot cake, I really enjoyed the flavor with just the right amount of sweetness in the cream and a crunchy texture in the cake. Although I was already satisfied, I wanted more so I also tried the canelé. It was incredibly delicious. The crispy outer layer and moist inside were perfect. It was the most luxurious and delicious canelé I've ever had. Especially the moist inside is something you must try. This place is not only stylish but also serious about their baked goods. It's located in a somewhat hard-to-reach area with no dedicated parking, so be prepared to walk a bit. It seems far from the nearest station as well. Despite that, I think it's a shop worth visiting, especially for those who love baked goods. I also bought some bread to eat at home. It was also very authentic with a sour taste. Personally, I don't like sour flavors at all, so I can't give a detailed opinion, but I could tell that the owner is really dedicated to running a serious business. The young and kind store owner seems promising, and I look forward to seeing how the store develops. I would love to visit if they start selling their products nearby.

The focaccia for the 1st anniversary gift is incredibly delicious, with a crispy yet chewy texture and a great flavor of onions. It's so good that once you've had it, you won't be able to buy focaccia from other stores. The "Sunflower Live Bread" is a half-full of deliciousness. It is made with care and is good for your body, and it pairs well with wine. The "Strawberry Baked Tart" costs 600 yen and has a delicate and excellent tart crust. The almond cream is light, and the strawberries and not-too-sweet crumble are gentle.

I visited the cafe for the first time on a holiday at 10:00, and there were empty seats inside the store. I purchased the Camphora live red toast, which was made with Nagano rye, whole grain, malt, and walnuts, and the flavor spread in my mouth with each bite. The canele with free-range eggs had a crispy exterior and a moist interior, and I felt like I was in Bordeaux. The taste was well-balanced. Located at 4-13 Nagasawa Heights, Otokoyama, Hachiman City, Kyoto Prefecture 1F.

I have been aiming to become like a connoisseur by posting about my walks, but when I tried the 380 yen "Bakery" it was so delicious that I had to post about it again. The size of the baguette is shorter than what you often see, and they don't sell half portions. The bread is usually ready by 10:30, but when I visited early, it was already baked. Since my family was having dinner, I had my husband pick it up later. The 600 yen "Tarte Citron" is delicate with a harmonious blend of lemon cream and meringue. If you bring your own container, you get a 50 yen discount. The 280 yen "Financier" is delicious, but if there is a place with even better ones, please let me know.

I was able to visit the restaurant that I wanted to go to since I saw it on Instagram! I aimed to arrive at the opening at 9:00, but it was a bit late (the seats were taken), so I ended up sitting at the counter. Many people came alone from early in the morning, enjoying their breakfast, which I thought was lovely. It seems that many people also come to buy bread for takeout. This time, I had made a reservation in advance and ordered a few additional items. ・Canele ¥380 ・Scone ¥380 ・Financier ¥280 ・Tarte Citron (forgot the price) ・Cafe Latte (hot) ・Wenzhou Mandarin Juice As a fan of canele, I couldn't miss out on it since I had seen it a lot on SNS before. The shiny beeswax coating on the outside got me excited. When I ate it, the outside was crispy, and the inside was soft, my favorite canele texture! The taste was also sweet and amazing! It's made with free-range eggs, fermented browned butter, Okinawa cane sugar, and vanilla beans for flavor. And the financier. According to Instagram, they bake the financier at 8:50, and when I entered the store, the smell of butter was really strong. I couldn't resist ordering it after smelling that scent. The surface was slightly crispy, and the inside was a bit light in texture. It was delicious with a strong buttery flavor. The whole wheat scone, which I was looking forward to after seeing "crispy" on SNS, was really enjoyable. There was a slight sweetness on the surface, and a bit of saltiness that made it hard to stop eating. I had been looking forward to the Tarte Citron that was only available at the store on the day, and it was made with organic domestic lemons to avoid the usual unpleasant aftertaste of lemon tarts. When I tasted it, I was surprised by its softness! The lemon acidity is wrapped in the smooth sweetness of the top layer. You can feel the lemon acidity clearly, but the aftertaste is gentle. It was so delicious that I updated my number one ranking of Tarte Citron in my mind. I liked the canele so much that I bought some more as souvenirs for my family to take out. I ended up eating it that night, and the crispiness was a bit more subdued compared to when I ate it at the store (it was still crispy), so eating it at the store is definitely the best! The staff were friendly and talked to me, the interior of the store was stylish, and if it were nearby, I would definitely visit often...! I will definitely visit again. Next time, I want to try the sandwiches as well. These baked goods made me feel excited after a long time.

It is a calm space with lovely music playing. The sandwich with chicken and cheese on hard bread was a perfect combination. The plant and wood colors create a cozy atmosphere. Located on the first floor of a building along the road, making it easy to find and enter.

Why is it so delicious? Today, I was drawn to the usual whole wheat scones and this lemon tart and decided to visit. The Lemon Tart costs 600 yen, but if you bring your own container, you get a 50 yen discount. The base is made of folded pie crust, but the texture is just perfect - not too soft, not too hard. You can easily eat it with a fork, enjoying the crispy, fragrant pie crust that harmonizes with the lemon cream on top. The lemon cream is amazing - very soft but not runny at all, with a strong lemon flavor. I prefer a strong lemon taste, so this is perfect for me. Overall, no matter what they make, it's amazingly delicious. They accept various credit cards and PayPay, but there is no parking available. Personally, the fact that it's so close to my house and that I can enjoy such fantastic flavors without having to wait in line makes it a ⭐︎5 for me. I was already impressed from my first visit and the Tart Tatin stole my heart, but I should have given it a ⭐︎5 rating sooner. I regret it.

There was no sign at the store, but when I entered, it was a warm and stylish cafe with a high sense of sophistication! It felt like, "Is this Hachiman? Such a hidden and wonderful cafe!" The owner used to live in London. He recently closed the shop temporarily because he was going to Los Angeles. A very kind man was there today. He said, "I'm running the shop according to my selfish schedule." When I mentioned that the cafe was becoming quite popular, he replied, "Really? I have no idea, haha." Today, I didn't have time to dine in, so I got a takeout. The coffee looked delicious, and they had attractive items like homemade ginger and kombucha on the menu. I will definitely come back to dine in next time! For the sandwich, you choose the bread from a sample display. The "Canele with Free-range Egg" for 380 yen was incredibly delicious! It tastes like a firm pudding (though it might be considered a soft canele). The flavor of the egg comes through gently but strongly! Honestly, it's the best canele I've ever had. The "Rugbrød Half" for 600 yen looked tasty with lots of nuts! It had a bit of a unique taste. I thought it was more like a side dish bread, but my husband seemed to like it. The "Homemade Chicken Ham and Camembert Sandwich" for 800 yen was delicious! The cheese was smooth and melty. The bread had a slightly salty and hard texture on the outside but was fluffy inside. The chicken was tender. When everything came together... oh, so delicious! When I asked if I could take a picture of the sandwich at the store, they put it in a very stylish dish for me. The canele was so good that I want to come back to enjoy it with coffee next time. My husband also said the canele was the best! No parking available, but there is a co-op nearby.

Next time, I went to the store and tried the "Rugbrød" that I was curious about. It costs 1100 yen for a full loaf and 600 yen for a half loaf. It looks like a long, thin pound cake, and when I searched it online, I found out that it is a popular Danish bread made with fermented dairy products and yeast. It can last for 4-5 days as it is, or you can slice it and freeze it. I bought a half loaf. It has walnuts in it, and the dough is moist and chewy with a high water content. It would go well with cheese, salmon, salty ham, etc. It has a mild acidity and is very easy to eat. It reminds me of my childhood when my father used to enjoy rye bread, so it feels nostalgic. I froze most of it for future wine pairings. I also can't resist the "Carrot Cake" for 450 yen. I can't cheat on it with anything else. The "Scone" for 380 yen is also incredibly delicious. It sells out by noon, I heard. The "Freshly Baked Financier" for 280 yen is a must-buy every time. It is crispy on the outside and moist inside, almost like it's freshly baked. If it's fresh, just Caronara is enough.

Camphora / Kyoto Yawata @camphora_kitchen On New Year's Eve, I had breakfast at Camphora, which is a 10-minute drive from Costco. - Homemade chicken ham and Camembert sandwich - Live bread toast with butter and honey - Cafe latte to go for a snack - Scones, canelés, financiers Last time I had a sandwich, but this time I got a baguette. They warmed it up and served it, so it was crispy and slightly chewy with a nice crispy crust. The natural yeast bread had a simple and delicious flavor. The soft chicken ham and Camembert had a gentle creamy taste, and the carrot pickles added a nice touch. The live bread had a strong nutty and seedy flavor, and the weighty and rustic wheat flavor was irresistible. Whether with butter, honey, or just enjoying the deliciousness of the flour, it was simply delicious. Ended the year with a delicious breakfast at Camphora ❤️ #camphora_kitchen #Camphora #KyotoCafe #KyotoBreakfast #YawataCafe #YawataBreakfast

Finally, I was able to come on a day when I had some free time (Thursday to Saturday only). I parked my car sideways in front of the store. The road in front of the store is wide, so it's easy to park without stress (please strictly observe traffic laws). Inside the store, there is seating on the right side. A woman was enjoying her food alone. I ordered carrot cake, canelé, scones, and rye bread, totaling 2,310 yen. The bread is good for the body and not overly sweet, making it something you could eat every day. The canelé was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, possibly the best I've had. The carrot cake had a noticeable carrot flavor, as expected. The scones were crispy. Strangely, none of them felt heavy or rich in the stomach. That's why I want to eat more. It's a nice feeling.

No, it was so delicious that I even considered revisiting on the same day as my previous post. The distance was so close, I visited this morning from opening time to get freshly baked financiers, canelés, and sourdough bread. The financiers were amazing, with a deep richness in the overall flavor and a buttery juiciness that stood out. The crispy texture on the surface and corners was light and airy, different from other financiers I've had before. The canelés were a luxurious treat, with a delicate outer crispiness and a smooth, melt-in-your-mouth interior. The rhubarb tart was light and delicious, with a perfect balance of tartness and sweetness. The sourdough bread had a deep, rich flavor that would elevate any Italian or French dish. Overall, the natural fermentation process and skillful technique used to create these flavors were truly impressive. The cafe also offers seating for dine-in customers, but there is no parking available nearby, so it's best to visit on foot or by bike. The combination of natural ingredients and expert craftsmanship makes this place worth a visit, even in a quiet location like this.

【Organic Carrot Cake】450 yen Although a bit pricey, I couldn't resist as a carrot cake lover. The taste is convincing, with a strong spice aroma that I initially thought might be overpowering, but it turned out to have a very gentle texture, sweetness, and overall flavor. The amount of frosting is on the lower side, but the balance is exquisite, and the lower amount is not a downside, but rather a positive aspect. 【Whole Wheat Scone】380 yen Despite its rugged appearance, the inside is moist and soft, with a rich flavor. Before I knew it, I found myself easily carrying the dough to my mouth. The consumption of clotted cream when eating scones is minimal. 【Hobnob Cookie】Sold by weight at 5 yen per gram I tried this popular cookie from England for the first time. I love the balance of saltiness, texture, and the deliciousness of the dough. If this is the level of my first Hobnob cookie, will I feel dissatisfied with any other Hobnob cookies in the future? Tonight, I skipped bread for dinner, and this weekend, I am aiming for canelé, financier, and sourdough bread. A dangerously good new shop opened in my neighborhood in May, but I only found out about it through a popular sweets Instagrammer from Kansai, nanshi's post. The shop was temporarily closed from July to mid-September as the owner was preparing to open a shop in the United States. This shop specializes in sourdough bread made using only natural yeast such as levain. I had never heard of "sawado" before, and the explanation I found on the owner's Instagram is that it is a bread made by cultivating yeast enzymes and bacteria that naturally inhabit wheat, fermenting the dough without using industrial yeast.

My husband bought this Tart Tatin for 500 yen (tax included) and it was so good! We live so close to the store that he was able to bring it home quickly. The base is made with almond cream and whole wheat flour, and the pastry is folded in a way that traps the butter inside. This gives the pastry a great buttery taste, sweetness, and a nice crunch. The apples were on the sweeter side, which we liked, but surprisingly, only 10% of the sugar used was from the apples. I'm not sure if the apples were naturally sweet or if there was a technique used to bring out their sweetness, but either way, it was delicious!
