But no, that's what we have at home on weekends. And we're not going to Wind Moon either. Mom doesn't approve of mediocre yakisoba from just anywhere. So, I took her to this restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. The restaurant area at AEON Mall was starting to get crowded after noon, and Mother Moon Cafe, though only us, had a wait of a few minutes. During that time, we were drawn to the large chiffon cake. Being hungry, we both wanted cake more than lunch. The interior of the restaurant was mostly women, with about 10% accompanied by children. We placed our order as soon as we entered! My daughter ordered the kid's plate (950 yen) and I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken plate (2 pieces, 1300 yen). Both options allowed a choice of focaccia or ginger rice, and my daughter could also choose from apple, orange, or milk for her drink. Even though it was a kids' plate, the hamburger was made from Awaji beef, the juice was 100%, and for households that don't want their kids to drink juice, there was also the option of milk, making it quite a high-quality kids' plate. Many people in the restaurant were ordering adult-sized kids' lunches, and I was curious about those too, but the impact of the chicken drew me in. And here it came, the food!! The focaccia was warm and delicious. I tried the chicken first... delicious!!! Buttermilk fried chicken!! Just as the title suggests, crispy! Crunchy! Spicy!! First, I tried it without adding anything, then added some lemon, and then dipped it in the lunch sauce provided... hmm, all of them were good!! I shared some with my daughter, and she also said it was delicious! So in the end, I gave her one piece even though I had ordered two. Oh no, should have ordered three pieces!! My daughter's kids' plate was also delicious, she said. I was worried it might be a small portion, but it came with dessert and we were both full. She even gave me half of the focaccia. Lunch with a friend from my school days at Katsuragawa Aeon. We chose a restaurant where we could stay for a long time. The interior was spacious with sofa seats. I had an omelette rice plate, which was delicious, but it was disappointing that the rice was white rice instead of chicken rice. The cake was delicious. It was a good place to chat and hang out.

The buttermilk fried chicken is crispy and delicious. The sauce that comes with it is amazing. The potatoes have two different textures and are irresistible. The short-haired, stylish glasses-wearing server provided top-notch service, so I want to go back again. The most surprising thing was the size of the iced coffee.

On Sundays, Aeon Mall is very crowded. Taking a break at a nice café, I'm happy with the generous amount of iced coffee they serve. They use beans from Ogawa Coffee, and while I can't quite pinpoint the taste, it's easy to drink and delicious.

For the main dish, I went with the quiche plate. It was a healthier option compared to the fried chicken plate, and I enjoyed my meal.

I think they have a good selection of menus that women would like. However, I found the cakes for dessert during lunch to be too big and slightly overpriced. They do offer a half-size option, but there is only one type of cake to choose from, which was disappointing.

A cake made from eggs of chickens that are only 6% of the total born and raised in Japan. The chiffon part of the caramel cake, made with only egg whites, is fluffy and moist with a fantastic texture, and it goes perfectly with the rich caramel sauce! The cookie & cream cake has a perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness, with a crispy texture that is enjoyable. Both cakes were incredibly delicious! Although the price is a bit high for the cake and drink, the taste is definitely worth trying at least once.

It was served in about 5 minutes, and the tart was crispy with a strong sweetness of pumpkin cream, refreshing orange custard, and a hint of apple jam for a fruity and refreshing taste. There was a slight sourness in the aftertaste, and the orange was also roasted, giving it a bitter flavor. It had a nice touch of cinnamon. On the other hand, my companion chose the limited edition Angel Food Cake, with a delicious combination of butterscotch, latte, and pecan nuts in a light sweet. It paired well with the coffee. More customers kept coming in later, and there were people waiting outside, so it seems to be a popular spot. There is even a movie theater inside, so it feels incredibly spacious when you walk in. In the midst of it all, I decided to visit the Mother Moon Cafe. While the cafe is originally from Kobe, it made its first appearance in Kyoto! I thought it would be interesting to experience Kobe in Kyoto, so I gave it a try. Located on Rakushi Koji, the Mother Moon Cafe has a Kyoto-like atmosphere. For the lunch plate, you can choose between bread or brown rice. I was intrigued by the Buttermilk Fried Chicken on the menu at the entrance, but it came with the adult child's lunch set, so I went for that. And of course, I opted for the healthy choice of brown rice. The main dish changes daily, which keeps things interesting. The salad was adorned with fruits, creating a well-balanced plate. The spring cabbage soup was also delicious. The Buttermilk Fried Chicken had a slightly spicy powder-like crust that was crispy and tasty. The roast pork was tender as if it had been boiled. The brown rice was sweet and delicious, with a unique texture that I enjoy. The finely chopped coleslaw was meticulously prepared. The sweet potato honey mustard salad had a taste that could belong in traditional Japanese sweets. It was delicious! Dessert was included (Espresso Pudding), making it a great deal. The pudding was sweet but rich with espresso flavor. The caramel also had an espresso taste. It was delicious! The cakes looked so enticing that I couldn't resist taking a picture. By the way, this Aeon Mall is located between Rakushi-guchi Station and Katsuragawa Station, so if you enter from the Katsuragawa side, it becomes Katsuragawa Koji. Even the resting areas have a Kyoto-style charm. I hope to visit the original store in Kobe someday!

Many customers were stopping by in front of the store, so it seems to be quite crowded for a while. Since there was a line at lunchtime, I went in the evening. I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Plate for ¥1300 and added a drink set for ¥350. The buttermilk fried chicken had a crispy texture similar to Korean fried chicken and was very delicious. The potatoes were not the usual frozen type, but had a strong potato flavor, which was nice. However, three pieces of chicken were too much for me. It felt greasy after the second piece, so I left one piece unfinished. The plate was quite heavy with plenty of vegetables and rice. The iced cafe latte had a mild acidity and was just the right balance, very tasty! The service was a bit hectic probably because it was the first day, with a large number of customers. They also sell cakes for takeout. The cakes in the display case are larger and more voluminous than regular cakes. I plan to try the sweets and other menu items next time.
