I had been curious about this restaurant for a while. Even though I arrived 20 minutes early, there were already 5 groups waiting in line. It's definitely a popular place. I waited eagerly until 11:30, but when I looked back, more people were lining up behind me. When the restaurant opened, they seated one group at a time. We had to take off our shoes, which was a bit of a hassle, but the inside of the restaurant was spacious and stylish with a traditional Japanese design. The seating was also in a sunken kotatsu style. There were many items on the menu, but my son and I decided on the pork belly set meal, while my mother chose the tempura set meal. After waiting for about 15 minutes, a hot pot of freshly cooked rice was served first. The pork belly looked delicious just by looking at it. When I picked it up with chopsticks, it was tender and oh so tasty. The rice was also delicious with unlimited refills. My son had seconds and ate three bowls of rice because it was so delicious. My mother enjoyed her tempura, which included tomatoes and corn, and she was very pleased with the crispy texture. By the time we finished eating, the restaurant was full, and even when we left just before 12:30, there were still people waiting in line. I wonder if it's better to go before opening or right before closing to avoid the crowds. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

There were many young people, but it felt welcoming even for solo diners. During busy times, they operate on a 1-hour rotation system which seems efficient. The daily lunch specials offered a good balance of meat and fish options with a variety of dishes to choose from. I ordered the limited quantity sea bream rice bowl which was fresh and came with a good amount of side dishes and salad. The taste was decent, nothing extraordinary, but the rice was delicious. The rice is brought in a hibachi pot, always freshly cooked and shiny, and you can eat as much as you want. The braised pork was tender, juicy, and delicious. The seasoning was also rich and flavorful, making it easy to eat more rice.

Rice restaurant Isshin Kyoto / Karasuma @isshinkyoto Isshin is always crowded. It is said that there are also branches in Osaka, Kobe, and Daikanyama. The atmosphere is so stylish that you wouldn't think it's a Japanese restaurant. There is an open kitchen in the middle of the restaurant! The steaming hot rice served in a large rice cooker is incredibly delicious. Each grain of rice stands out, making it fluffy with a good texture. The shiny rice, hot and tender pork belly, soft-boiled egg, cold shabu-shabu, small side dishes, pickles, and miso soup made for a very satisfying lunch. There are various other menu items, so sharing could be a good idea. The crispy tempura was also delicious.

I went right after they opened and miraculously got a table. The food and atmosphere were outstanding. Each dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The potato salad is my favorite, with cream cheese adding a unique touch that enhances the flavor and texture. The sashimi, small dishes, and the finale of cooked rice were all delicious! I've been here multiple times and each time I'm impressed by the delicious food and great ambiance. I can't wait to go back again and again.

This is a shop that always has a long line. I called to make a reservation around 4 pm, but all the reservation slots for that day were full. However, they mentioned that if I came to the store, they might be able to seat me without waiting. So, I visited the store around 5 pm and was seated right away without any wait. It seems like they have separate seating for reservations and walk-ins. Inside the store, there were more seats than I had imagined from the outside, and I was surprised by how popular it was despite the large number of seats. The dishes were beautifully presented and each dish seemed to be carefully prepared. It would be perfect for a date, wouldn't it? However, the "Sea Bream Hot Pot" that I ordered first was supposed to take about 30 minutes according to the menu, but it actually took about an hour to be served. I think it may be because it's a popular restaurant and they have limited pots for cooking, so I recommend ordering with some extra time to spare.

I usually have lunch here, but this time I tried their seasonal dinner menu (early summer). I finally got to try their famous braised pork, which was incredibly tender and delicious. The roast beef appetizer was juicy and my favorite. I also enjoyed the fresh fish and vegetables of the season.

I waited in line for about 40 minutes at a famous rice restaurant that offered a daily lunch special for 1200 yen. The restaurant was located underground and had a great atmosphere. The daily special was lotus root with spicy cod roe tempura, which was delicious but tasted like a regular set meal. I also tried the braised pork belly which was absolutely amazing!

Today I visited One Shin, a restaurant that is also located in Umeda and Tokyo. I decided to skip the alcohol and just enjoy the food. The atmosphere of this place is clean and perfect for a romantic date night with its dim lighting. I ordered an oolong tea for ¥450, a sashimi platter for two for ¥1800, tsukune (chicken meatballs) for ¥900, and yuba shumai (steamed dumplings wrapped in tofu skin) for ¥400. My go-to dishes are always the dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette) and tsukune. They never disappoint with their flavorful seasoning and generous portions. But the standout dish for me was the yuba shumai! The tofu skin wrapped around the dumpling filling had a rich shrimp flavor and was topped with a savory sauce. The warm and soft texture of the yuba was also delicious. I will definitely be coming back again.

On Saturdays at lunchtime, there is always a long line! Going downstairs, you'll find a cozy tatami room. The daily special lunch was sold out, so I had the braised pork lunch. It was so tender and the broth was delicious... The shiny rice served in a wooden rice container was a nice touch. They kept refilling my tea even though it wasn't empty yet, which was a bit funny!

I have been to the Daikanyama store before, but I wanted to eat white rice so I visited this store. Just like the Daikanyama store, there was a long line before opening. Luckily, I was able to get in on the first round. The white rice served in the wooden rice container is really delicious. I couldn't help but have seconds.

I was convinced by the reasons for the prosperity of the beautiful restaurant. The food is delicious and the presentation is beautiful. If I had to mention something, I wish the oden was served hotter and the pork stew meat was a bit more tender. I also visited a restaurant in Osaka, so next time I'm thinking of going to Kobe.

I made a reservation for Friday at 7:30 pm and visited the restaurant. It was my first time dining there at night. As usual, it was very popular, with the restaurant almost full. The evening atmosphere was great. We had potato salad, avocado and tuna yukke, assorted sashimi, tai meshi, grilled nodoguro with saikyo miso, and warabi mochi. We were full and had about 3 drinks each, costing around 5000 yen per person. I was very satisfied. The tai meshi was especially delicious. The fish dishes seemed to be their specialty, as they were elegant and delicately flavored. The drinks were also delicious, and I could feel the attention to detail in the highballs and lemon sours. We started with bonito sashimi and potato salad. The bonito was served with grated daikon radish, and it was delicious with the hidden myoga underneath. I started with beer but quickly felt like having some sake. The potato salad had a nice texture and a gentle flavor that didn't get boring. The highlight was the braised pork belly, which paired perfectly with the silver rice served in a wooden rice container. The thick and juicy shiitake mushrooms, as well as the well-prepared Kyoto-style grilled fish and unique fried dishes, were all delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant, not too noisy, and I had a lovely dining experience, especially since there were mostly female customers, including groups of two women or women having a girls' night out. This is a recommended shop with beautiful stylists who will take care of you. Reservations are a must, seriously. On this day, several couples without reservations had to leave. We chose from the recommended menu items, and each one was excellent and delicious. Without a doubt, this place sets a new record for the best of the year! The staff is very kind, making it a pleasant place to visit.
