I have known this tea shop since I was in elementary school. My mother also loves this place, and whenever we go to Shinjuku, we always stop by here to buy ice cream or the sweet potato-shaped matcha sweet potato (frozen) (I'm not sure if they still have it). The tea is also delicious, and sometimes we were allowed to sample it. The location is right outside the Keio Line ticket gate, but it may be hard to find at first glance. There is no eat-in corner inside the store, so you can only stand nearby to eat, but it would be nice if they had a small bench or something in the future... I was surprised to find out that they were selected as one of the top 100 ice cream shops! As always, the prices are cheap and I'm happy about that! Reading the reviews, some people mentioned that it was crowded and there were long lines, but I have been to this shop three times this summer and I have never had to wait in line. However, there were always customers coming in one after another. Please note that they only accept cash payments. ■ Rich Matcha Soft Serve Ice Cream with Matcha Waffle Stick ¥380 Highly recommended for matcha lovers as the matcha flavor is rich and delicious!! The matcha ice cream goes all the way down to the bottom of the waffle cone, so you can enjoy it until the very last bite without running out of ice cream. The matcha waffle stick also had a strong matcha flavor and was delicious, but surprisingly it was quite crispy, so be careful when eating it... Thank you for the meal ★

I have passed by the Chano Ikeda tea shop hundreds of times before, but I never had the chance to stop by. This time, I finally decided to stop by. It was around midday on a holiday, and I wanted something light to eat after lunch. I chose the Matcha and Vanilla Ice Cream Mix Monaka Cone for 300 yen. There are only two seats inside, but there is an eat-in space where I could sit and enjoy my treat slowly. It was delicious. Thank you.

I found out about this place on Tabelog, and it seems their matcha soft serve is delicious. However, I didn't know about it before, so I always go for the cold matcha in a PET bottle (top quality) - it's so rich and delicious! But now that I know about the soft serve's existence, I have to try it.

Discover the depth of Shinjuku through the Ice Cream & Gelato Top 100 Stores tour. I was surprised to find an underground mall in this area, and the shop I stumbled upon had a nostalgic charm to it. The matcha soft serve that came out was like tasting a rich, bitter chocolate flavor that tantalized my taste buds. It was incredibly rich, but the enjoyment from the matcha was what made it stand out! A must-try soft serve for sure.

I had eaten it a few times before, but I had never taken a picture. I think most people are the same. I had it again after a long time, and there was quite a lot of it. I tried the mixed one, but it was sweet, so maybe it would have been better with just matcha... I thought, so I will try that next time.

Rich Matcha Soft Serve Ice Cream Set for 400 yen. The matcha stick was soft and broke easily. The matcha milk beans added a nice touch. The price is reasonable, cash only. The matcha flavor is not exceptionally strong, just a regular matcha soft serve.

After 3 months, I revisited this tea shop for the third time. Although it is a tea shop, the sweets here are exceptional. The "Hojicha Fubuki" (soft serve ice cream with matcha and vanilla topped with hojicha powder) costs 350 yen (tax included). The sweet vanilla and matcha soft serve ice cream is topped with genuine bitter hojicha. The vanilla and matcha soft serve ice cream is very delicious. The price is similar to convenience store sweets, but this matcha soft serve ice cream is something that only a tea shop can offer. The hojicha on top is just perfect. The portion is generous as well. It's unbelievable that you can get this quality at this price. If you are nearby, I highly recommend trying it.

This is a tea house near Shinjuku Station on the Keio Line! However, it looks more like a souvenir shop than a tea house. They sell food and drinks like soft serve ice cream outside the window, so I decided to try it. I couldn't decide between matcha and mix, but I was tempted by the "premium vanilla soft serve" so I went with mix. When you order, they ask you to choose a cone, waffle cone (+30 yen), or cup. I chose the cone. The soft serve was served so quickly through the window that I almost gave up on putting change back in my wallet. As for the taste... it was quite soft, maybe due to the heat. The matcha had a rich flavor, while the premium vanilla soft serve was delicious but not as rich as expected. From my experience, I would recommend getting the matcha in a cup to savor it slowly. The soft serve here is really cheap! I would love to come back multiple times and enjoy each flavor separately.

Before 7:00 PM on Saturdays, the inside of the store is busy and you may have to wait, but there are plenty of menu options so you can enjoy waiting. The menu has a lot to choose from. However, it can be hot. I ordered the D set for 400 yen, which is a good deal for a soft serve ice cream with rich matcha flavor and various toppings. It's quite rich but easy to eat. They only accept cash. (Rating: 3.63 stars from 243 reviews)

Sometimes I pass by here, but did a long line like this form before?????? I thought. I don't know if it's because of the time of day, but there are about 6 people waiting in line. Maybe it's related to the top 100 selection because one man stands out. The menu is too overwhelming. I ordered the finest matcha (unsweetened) matcha ice float, but there are other tempting items on the menu, and I have no idea what else to order. And it's only 320 yen, which is really cheap. I received it and enjoyed it by the wall. Normally, a float has a layer of ice with a little drink on top, but this one has the ice at a minimum and a huge scoop of ice cream on top, so the ice cream just sinks in, which made me laugh. The amount is more than it looks!!!!!! I love the spirit of "more is better" and I'm becoming a fan. Starting from the matcha ice cream. Wait...........this is delicious!!!!!!! It's so delicious!!!!!!! As expected from a tea shop, the amount of matcha mixed in the ice cream is just right, with a rich flavor. The ice cream itself is also delicious, and no, this is delicious!!!!!! The finest matcha (unsweetened) is basically chilled matcha, very easy to drink and refreshing, and so delicious. Wait. Both of these are delicious, but they don't clash at all. They are super delicious together. But I have to say, I should have ordered each of them separately!!!!!!!! They are both so delicious, I wanted to enjoy them to the fullest. Next time, I'm going to try the matcha ice cream. I really liked it.

Vanilla soft serve (300 yen) ⭐4.3
This rich and creamy vanilla soft serve has a unique smooth texture that melts in your mouth. They generously fill up the cup, so you get a lot for your money. It may get a bit too sweet towards the end due to the large portion, but it's a great choice when you're craving a rich vanilla flavor.

Located in the underground shopping area of Odakyu Department Store in Shinjuku, there is a timeless shop called Chano Ikeda. You can easily reach it from the JR Shinjuku Station West Exit underground passage, near the entrance to Odakyu Ace South Building (the underground passage towards Keio Line South Exit). You can visit even on rainy days without needing an umbrella. This shop is very casual and has a wide variety of menu options. Today, I ordered the Cream Vanilla Soft Serve for 300 yen (tax included). While the Matcha ice cream is popular, I always go for the classic Vanilla. It was rich and delicious as always. I will definitely visit again.

I visited after lunch and shared a matcha ice cream with my friend. It's located in an underground shopping area, but the air conditioning wasn't very effective, so it was a bit hot. The matcha ice cream from the tea shop had a rich tea flavor and was very delicious.

This is an ice cream shop located in Odawara Ace at Shinjuku Station. It feels like they also sell tea, but the main focus seems to be the shop. Eating the matcha beans from Doutoku with the ice cream enhances the deliciousness. Even though it's Odawara Ace, it's close to the Keio Line, almost the same as Keio Mall, so it was a bit difficult to find.

Located at the corner of Odakyu Ace South Wing, this tea shop has been selected as one of the top 100 shops. You can enjoy matcha soft serve for only 300 yen (330 yen for a waffle cone), which is quite cheap. The soft serve is rich and delicious! It's a bit disappointing that they only accept cash, but the taste is unbeatable.

The soft serve ice cream available for 300 yen at this ice cream shop in Shinjuku Station underground is quite good with a rich taste. However, there are many other places in Hokkaido that are not selected as one of the top 100 ice cream shops, which offer even better options. The top 100 list may not be a perfect indicator. My taste evaluation skills are quite hopeless, haha.

A tea shop located in Odakyu Ace Minami-kan (difficult to describe the location). They sell Japanese tea, Chinese tea, black tea, and coffee, as well as soft serve ice cream and shaved ice. Mostly for takeout, but there is a small seating area inside. They were selected as one of the "Top 100 Ice Cream/Gelato Shops in Japan 2023". I tried the matcha and vanilla mixed soft serve ice cream for 300 yen in a cup. The taste was okay, nothing special. I spent 300 yen. Rating: 3 points 5 points: Definitely want to visit again! 4 points: Would revisit if given the chance. 3 points: Okay to revisit. 2 points: Once is enough. 1 point: No need to visit.

I am enjoying B-class gourmet in Shinjuku again for work. It's so hot that I came to this shop to cool off... The shop is located about 1 minute from the Keio Line ticket gate. I like the cluttered and chaotic atmosphere here. This time, I tried the A set for 370 yen: rich matcha ice cream with "Mame-Toku: Matcha Milk Beans" and chilled green tea. Payment is made in cash on delivery within 1-2 minutes. Unlike the last time with the mixed soft serve ice cream, you don't get to enjoy the contrast of sweetness and bitterness, but the affordable price is definitely a plus. By the way, "Mame-Toku: Matcha Milk Beans" seems to be the signature product of a long-established confectionery shop founded in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture in the second year of the Meiji era...

I revisited a place with a cluttered atmosphere that I like. The main items for eating in at this store are soft serve ice cream, sundaes, shaved ice, and some kind of set menu. Today, I tried the matcha syrup sundae for 320 yen. While eating, the owner approached me, maybe because I looked interested. I ended up also getting a mackerel olive oil marinated tea for 321 yen. Apparently, they have a relationship with a supplier in Shizuoka. They also recommended sweet simmered ayu (around 300 yen), but I only had small change so I had to pass. The expiration date is February 2024, so I haven't tried it yet, but I hope it's worth the price. While eating in, I found myself strangely drawn to the high-quality miso soup they offer. I wonder what kind of place this really is.

Around 12:30 pm on a Monday, I passed by this shop near the subway station and thought, "I want to eat here after a long time!" There was no wait, so I bought a rich matcha soft serve ice cream for 300 yen. I chose a cone and paid, then quickly ate it because it was hot and I was starting to feel sticky. It was so delicious!! Really, really tasty! Thank you for the meal ^ ^ I will definitely go again!

- Price: Rich Matcha Soft Serve for 300 yen
- Location: Located about a 1-minute walk from Shinjuku Station, at Chanokida-ya, perfect for cooling down.
- You can enjoy a delicious rich matcha soft serve for a great deal of 300 yen. Being a matcha specialty shop, the soft serve had a nice matcha aroma and a strong bitterness, making it very tasty. I enjoyed it despite the intense heat, as I had to battle the rapid melting of the soft serve. Thank you for the meal! 🍦
