It is located in front of the ticket gate at Demachiyanagi Station on the Eizan Electric Railway, so it is convenient to change before going out. Before heading to Ohara, I bought a Langdog and an An-doughnut. Both are breads that have been around for a long time. The price is around 200 yen, which is reasonable compared to other bakeries these days.

I went to Shizuya Eiden Demachiyanagi store in Demachiyanagi, Kyoto. Their specialty is Carne, known as the soul food of Kyoto residents. It's a bread roll similar to French bread, filled with ham and onions. When warmed up in the oven, it's delicious, and I always buy it when I visit Kyoto. This time, I bought Pepper Carne and Normal Carne to take home.

This is a bakery located in Demachiyanagi, Kyoto. It is located inside the Eizan Electric Railway Demachiyanagi Station, right after passing through the ticket gate. It is also a short walk from the Keihan Demachiyanagi Station, making it a convenient location. The bakery is called Shitsuya, and it is known for its signature bread called "Carne". Carne is a German-style French bread sandwich filled with ham, onions, and margarine. It was inspired by a sandwich called "Kaiser Semmel" sold at Munich Station in Germany. There are two types of Carne available: the regular Carne and the peppery Pepper Carne. Both were purchased on this occasion. The only downside is that Carne is a refrigerated product. Despite the warm weather in August, the bakery provided a cooling pack for the purchase, so it was still bought. After returning home, the regular Carne was enjoyed first. The bread was not as hard as a baguette but had a nice light crispiness. The margarine added a fluffy texture, making it a pleasant taste. The addition of onion slices added a crunchy texture, balancing the flavors well. The Pepper Carne, on the other hand, had a spicy kick from the pepper, making it a more mature flavor. Personally, the Pepper version was preferred. Overall, both Carne sandwiches were delicious and well-balanced.

When you come to SIZUYA Kyoto located right in front of the ticket gate at Demachiyanagi Station on the Eizan Electric Railway, you will suddenly crave for their simple sandwich with ham, onions, and margarine, called "Karune." The combination of these three ingredients creates a delicious taste. I usually buy it on my way back from business trips at Kyoto Station. I purchased it as my breakfast. Instagram ID: kuidaore.8.

The station is located at Demachiyanagi Station (in front of the Eizan Electric Railway ticket gate), making it convenient to buy before heading out. I bought Kyoto's local bread, the New Bird (230 yen), and a Basque-style cheese cake Danish (130 yen). The prices are reasonable. I don't remember the New Bird being around for a long time, so I think it must be a menu item that became popular after gaining fame as a local bread. It is a deep-fried bread with curry-flavored wiener sausage inside. The Basque-style one was probably made to capitalize on the trend of Basque cheesecake. In other words, this bakery is proactive in incorporating trends into their menu.

I was able to take photos at "SLLP Hachiman Shrine" with DMT in it. It was a success at "main" (^_^;) To commemorate the successful shoot, I smelled it (to eat the next morning) (^_-)-☆
///////////Purchased items///////////
☆ Shizuya curry pan
☆ New bird (wrapped in curry bread)
☆ Sandwich (with tonkatsu)
☆ Pepper cornet x2
【szyさん】→ It seemed like an "Indian curry" image, but there were many other types available, so buying was the right choice (●´ϖ`●) "I'll go buy some next week too✨"

I purchased a sandwich to eat in the car on my way to KTHM from Eiden Photography (Rakuraku). The sandwich I bought was the Pepper Carne and Custard Purine. After boarding the train, I enjoyed the sandwich along with some alcohol I had purchased earlier from Ansley. Thanks to that, my train journey became a great time for "drinking and train watching."

■Visit Date: October 20, 2020■Items Received: Kyoto Carne, Pepper Carne■MEMOVisited on October 20, 2020. Located next to the ticket gate at Eizan Demachiyanagi Station. Today, I had work in Demachiyanagi and after finishing, I returned to the station. I saw the blue sign and realized I hadn't had Carne in a while... so I was drawn to the shop. I bought one Kyoto Carne and one Pepper Carne. Each priced at ¥200 and ¥210 - both are addictive. Personally, I prefer the Pepper Carne with its mature flavor. It has an exquisite balance. Simple, delicious, and good value for money. My wife has been living in Kyoto for over 20 years but had never tried Pepper Carne before. She found it delicious. She had a big satisfied smile on her face. Carne is something I crave occasionally. ■Blog: https://ay-style.net/?p=54129

▼About the Shop▼
Shizuya HP
This is a chain bakery shop representing Kyoto, founded in 1948. The name "Shizuya" comes from the founder's wife, Shizuko. It is actually one of the soul foods loved by the people of Kyoto who are said to love bread. This Demachiyanagi store is located inside Eizan Electric Railway's Demachiyanagi Station.
▼Menu▼
They offer a variety of items including Shizuya's specialty Carne, side dish bread, and sweet bread.

- Cream Puff: 150 yen
(March 2020)
This cream puff is a slightly small type. The choux pastry has a soft texture, and inside, there is custard cream made with milk from Hokkaido, which is smooth and mild in flavor. It is quite delicious and goes well with the choux pastry.

This is a bakery chain that has been loved by Kyoto residents for a long time. Founded in 1948, they currently have over 20 stores in Kyoto city. Shizuya is a popular bakery chain in Kyoto known for its specialty Carne. The Demachiyanagi store is located across from the ticket gate at Eizan Electric Railway Demachiyanagi Station. This branch is a store for sales only. I used it while taking a short ride on the Eizan train. I tried their cream puff for the first time, and it had a simple yet delicious taste. I would like to try their Carne and other distinctive breads if I have the chance.

I visited Shizuya at Demachiyanagi. Shizuya has a great location for students using the Keihan or Eizan lines. I want to buy something new to take home, but I always end up buying the same thing. The classic flavors are always a delight.

This is Shitsuya, which has about 20 stores mainly in Kyoto. I had to buy lunch here because I didn't have time to eat in Kyoto this time. The products I purchased this time are: Plenty of Cream Bread 180 yen (including tax) - There is certainly plenty of cream in it, but the quality and taste of the cream are no different from supermarket cream bread. Also, chain store bread is hard. Sweet Potato Croquant 185 yen (including tax) - The quality of sweet potato is poor. The caramel is also hard and difficult to eat. The quality has dropped to the level of supermarket or convenience store bread. It will be tough in the future to maintain this quality level at this price range.

Located next to Eizan Dentetsu Demachiyanagi Station. I purchased it before boarding the Eizan Dentetsu train. It is located outside the ticket gate, so anyone can easily purchase it. There is Kamogawa River in front of Eizan Dentetsu Demachiyanagi Station, so you can use this bakery on a sunny day when you want to relax by the river. There are several bakeries near Imadegawa Street across the Kamogawa River, so it might be fun to visit them one after another.
- Langue de Chat: 180 yen
- Bacon Epi: 230 yen
I prefer crispy and hard bread, but this bakery doesn't offer that type.

From Demachiyanagi Station on the Keihan line, go up the stairs and head towards Eizan Electric Railway on the first floor, where you will find Shizuya. It is a convenient location to stop by when playing along the Eizan Electric Railway line and changing to Keihan. On this day, after enjoying the riverside dining in Kibune, feeling a bit lacking in volume, I bought the Carne and Beef Cutlet Sandwiches to enjoy at home. The flavor of the ham and onion in the Carne is quite addictive. And the Beef Cutlet Sandwich is also delicious. Both are reasonably priced and not incredibly delicious, but they have that addictive Kyoto taste.

My companion often buys bread on the way home from work, saying "We need some bread." Salt bread is 130 yen, grape bread is 120 yen. We spread plenty of butter (recently, Calpis is a favorite) and cheese on it, and enjoy it with wine. Last time, I bought bacon bread. It was big with lots of bacon, but it cost around 240 yen. Conveniently located and delicious bread in Kyoto. I like it very much. Thank you for the meal.

This is my first time trying this bread. It's called Crush Cheese bread. It seems to have been introduced on a TV show by Narumi Okamura. The flavor of the cheese is amazing. I ate it in the morning and it gave me a lot of energy.

On the way back from Kyoto... I got a little hungry so I decided to buy some karne to take home. I bought it at the station. Then I ate it on the train. It's nice to be able to eat it crispy. Eating karne while enjoying the view from the train window is also nice. It was delicious.
