My favorite bakery in Kyoto ^_^ They open at 7 am and offer a surprisingly wide variety of breads! The bread here is definitely delicious. The Danish pastries come in many flavors and the texture of the dough is beyond imagination - so crispy! The juicy fruits and sweet cream go perfectly together. The fluffy babka is also a favorite menu item! With such a diverse lineup, this bakery is enjoyable to visit every time ^_^ I definitely want to go back when I visit Kyoto again!

Closed on Sundays and Mondays, it can be difficult to visit, but I happened to pass by and saw plenty of bread even before noon, so I was drawn into the shop. There was a sign inside saying only up to three customers allowed. Since no one was there, I got permission to take photos inside the shop. If it were a Saturday, this time would be limited, but on weekdays, it's a great time to visit. There are so many types of bread to choose from, but I can't do without the walnut red bean butter bread. I realized once again that the dough is delicious. It's a bit pricey, but I feel like I want to go buy it regularly.

It was a hot day... There were customers inside the shop, so I couldn't go in and had to wait outside for a while. The shop inside is quite small... There are many different types of bread available. I bought: - Jumbo pork cutlet x2 for 420 yen each - Melon bread for 240 yen - Curry bread for 280 yen The bread I bought was just okay... The Jumbo pork cutlet was delicious though. Thank you for the meal!

Director Shinichi Fujisaki of BODYPITKYOTO here. A rare bread souvenir from my old man. Incredibly delicious bread. It's from Boulangerie Yamazaki in Nishikyogoku. I'm thinking of going to buy it myself next time. Thank you very much.

I went in the morning on a regular day. It was a bit difficult to get there by car, but there is a coin parking lot a little further away. There were many high-quality breads lined up, all of them with a high price. There were many types of sweet Danish pastries, and I had the Chocolate Orange and Strawberry ones. Both had an elegant sweetness, and the crispy layers of the pastry were delicious! The soft Chocolate Macadamia had a deliciously chewy bread, and the sweetness of the chocolate was just right. The Baguette sandwiches had a wide variety, and I tried the Bacon Egg and Tuna Avocado ones, all with deliciously seasoned ingredients and a very tasty baguette bread. I also had the Chicken Cutlet and Egg sandwiches. The soft and moist bread itself was wonderfully delicious! You can tell that the bread is very popular and in high demand. The Curry Bread had a chewy bread and the deliciousness of the curry filling was exquisite. I felt very satisfied after eating them all, and they were all breads that I would like to eat again. Of course, I would like to try different types of bread as well. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to visit a bakery in Kyoto and found out that it is run by someone who trained at Tamaki Tei! I was surprised by the variety of bread available starting from 7 am when they open! I really liked the bread here. I don't usually buy curry bread, but I bought it because it was freshly fried. The crispy and chewy bread paired perfectly with the spiciness of the curry. The Danish pastries, with their rich variety, exceeded my expectations with their crispy texture. All the bread I bought was delicious, making this my favorite bakery. I definitely want to go back when I visit Kyoto again!

I've always wanted to visit Tamaki Tei, a popular bakery known for its delicious bread. They open at 7 am and have a constant flow of customers from the opening. I bought a variety of bread, including hard bread and sweets. I also tried their freshly fried curry bread for 280 yen. The homemade curry bread was still warm and crispy. The curry was sweet but also had a spicy kick, and it was delicious with bits of meat inside. It was a great way to start the day with a tasty curry bread for breakfast.

Egg sandwich, croissant, and curry bread for 900 yen. Visited at around 10am. The parking lot was not available. I had visited a few times in the afternoon, but most of the items were sold out. The interior of the shop is small, but the items are neatly arranged and it creates a high-energy atmosphere.

Each bread has a distinct flavor, and the Danish-style toppings are generous. This time, I bought a stollen with kinako powder and red bean paste, which can last for a few days. It's rare to find stollen available when it's not Christmas season. I ate it three days later and it was delicious. The Japanese-style ingredients in the stollen are also tasty and have a unique flavor that doesn't get boring. The staff recommended consuming the stollen as soon as possible for the best taste.

This shop opened about 6 years ago. A friend gave me their delicious shokupan a few times, so I finally visited the shop. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Nishikyogoku Station. The shokupan is popular and usually requires a reservation to purchase (if no reservation, you can buy a 2-piece set). Prices: Fig Danish - 290 yen, Chocolat Macadamia - 250 yen, Chocolate Brioche - 230 yen, Half Loaf - 170 yen. The bread here is sweet items are sweet, and savory items are well-seasoned with a good balance of flavors. The fig was quite sweet, but balanced well with the less sweet custard. The Chocolate Brioche was very sweet, with a homemade chocolate cream. The Chocolat Macadamia had a great texture and wasn't as sweet, possibly due to the custard inside. The shokupan was soft and had a good volume. It's a bit out of the way but worth a visit if you're in the area. They seem to specialize in an original product called Babka, which I'd like to try if I get the chance.

I visited in the early afternoon, so there were few items left as most had been sold out. However, judging from the sold out product cards, there seemed to be a considerable variety. I selected a few items that were still available, and they all looked delicious. The fluffy and chewy shokupan (Japanese bread) in a pack of two is convenient for single living. The Honey Cheese Babka had a perfect combination of cheese and honey - definitely want to buy this again! The Cheese Melon Pan also looked delicious, but this time I chose the Brioche Melon Pan. The brioche was fluffy, crispy, and chewy. I definitely want to go back earlier next time to choose from a wider variety of items at this place.

One of the bakeries in Kyoto's Ukyo Ward that makes you want to buy something when you pass by. - Chocolate Berry Bread 240 yen: A soft bread with a delicious combination of chocolate and berries. - Anpan 200 yen: A Danish pastry with light sweet red bean paste. - Sandwich bread 2 slices: Lucky to find the last two slices. Soft and fluffy, very delicious without any strong flavors. - Kugelhopf 800 yen: I was attracted by the words "freshly baked" and bought it. It can last about 2 weeks at room temperature. I was told that it's best to eat it on the day it's baked, but I didn't have the chance that day... so I ate it the next day. A quarter was satisfyingly rich. The bottom was packed with crunchy caramel and walnuts, delicious. I think it's best to eat a little at a time.

I visited for the first time on March 30, 2022. I purchased Egg Sandwich for 270 yen, Cuscus Route for 300 yen, and Cream Anpan for 200 yen, all excluding tax, totaling 834 yen including tax. The standout delicious item, as others have mentioned, was the Egg Sandwich. The egg filling was delicious, but the bread used was incredibly tasty. I would like to buy just this bread next time if possible. The Cuscus Route had a crispy outer texture with plenty of filling, making it a substantial meal substitute with slightly intense seasoning. The Cream Anpan was simply delicious. Overall, the prices are on the higher side, but the variety of savory and sweet bread with unique and voluminous options should leave you satisfied. Since the restaurant is close to my home, I plan to visit again.

I have been visiting Boulangerie Yamazaki's morning market so many times that I've lost count. When you go, you'll see a variety of bread lined up, so I recommend it. This time, I bought the curry bread and soft red bean butter bread that I had tried before. The bread, priced at 200-300 yen, comes in a wide variety. The curry bread is quite oily and has a generous amount of filling. The Nakano curry inside is plentiful, and while the outside of the bread is crispy, the inside is soft and delicious. The red bean butter bread uses a soft bread and has a slightly modest amount of butter, which is also tasty. I will definitely come back again.

Boulangerie Yamazaki, located about a 5-minute walk from Hankyu Nishikyogoku Station. I've been here several times, but in the afternoon, the variety tends to decrease. This time, I decided to come in the morning and there were plenty of options available. The shop is small, only accommodating about 3 people at a time. They have a lot of sweet pastries like fruit Danish and chocolate. I bought a curry bread for around 260 yen and a sweet potato cream bread for 260 yen as well. The curry bread was surprisingly crispy on the outside but chewy on the inside. However, it lacked elasticity and easily got squished. As I ate it, I started to notice that it was a bit greasy. But the chewy texture was the highlight. I would love to try it fresh out of the oven. The sweet potato cream bread, on the other hand, would be even better if the cream filled the entire bread. Overall, I think it's a place worth visiting again.

I got recommended a delicious bakery by a friend ❤️ It's a shop run by someone who trained at Tamagi-tei, so it must be delicious! I went there right away on a rainy weekday around 3 o'clock. The shop is so small that if three people go in, it gets crowded. About half of the items were sold out, but maybe there were more left than usual because of the rain? I bought four different kinds of bread - fig and dark chocolate, cream cheese, sandwich with sausage, and anko butter, as well as a loaf of square bread and a mountain bread. They were all so delicious! They look like ordinary bread, but they have a lot of fillings, like chocolate under the figs, or walnuts in the anko butter bread. I didn't do any research and just picked randomly, but all the bread was top-notch delicious, so I think they're all great. The bread loaf was also delicious! It had the quality of ingredients that you would find in a luxury hotel's breakfast. The crispy crust and soft inside were also delicious! This place is sure to become popular! I actually prefer this place over the original one. I wonder why I didn't know about it until now. #

■Visit Date: September 23, 2021■Items Received: Refer below■MEMOVisited on September 23, 2021. As part of our morning routine on a holiday, my husband and I went for an early morning walk and spotted the Koupenchanshan train on the Hankyu viaduct on Gojo Street. We decided to wait for it to come back at Nishikyogoku Station. It was a delightful morning. After that, we made our second visit to this shop. This time, we purchased a total of 7 types of bread: ・Square loaf ・Plum Danish ・Homemade curry cabbage chorizo dog ・Honey cheese babka ・Brioche with raw chocolate ・Fried tofu bread ・Addictive devil's galette All the bread was delicious and had a great consistency. Many people come to this bakery by car to buy their tasty bread. It was a happy time enjoying delicious bread. The Danish with seasonal fruits had vibrant colors, adding to the enjoyment. The addictive devil's galette lives up to its name - it's dangerously delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious bread.■Bloghttps://ay-style.net/

■Visit Date: September 18, 2021■Items Received: Refer to below■MEMOVisited on September 18, 2021. The shop is located on the west side of Kuzuno Oji Gojo in Kyoto. I arrived a little after 7 am, aiming for the opening time, but there were already 4-5 people waiting. It's a popular place. As you can see in the photos, there are various delicious-looking bread piled up everywhere. Right after opening, you can choose from all kinds, making it hard to decide. In times like this, I let my wife decide. Now, the items I purchased this time are:・Baked fig Danish・Bacon egg・Curry bread・Matcha babka・Yamazaki's Yama-shoku 1 kg・Walnut and cranberry cheese cream・Baked avocado and beer sausage・Tuna salad casserole・Homemade curry bread・Anchovy bacon garlic butter・Pork cutlet egg sandwichA total of 10 varieties. Every bread is exceptionally delicious. The bread mostly ranges from 200 yen, but the taste is worth it. The vibrant colors and surprises when eating make these breads a delight. Each elaborately crafted bread is a definite repeat for me. Having these breads after a morning walk is truly special.■Bloghttps://ay-style.net/

It's been a while since I visited Yamazaki-san's bakery. I love their egg sandwiches and often buy them on weekends, but this time I decided to try a variety of deli, sweets, and snack items. Personally, I felt that each item had something special about it, not necessarily refined like Pravita, but each product had its own charm. - Avocado and Beer Sausage Tuna Salad Croissant (290 yen): The tuna salad sandwiched in here is a nice touch, not overly sophisticated but still approachable. I was surprised by the tuna salad, which added a nice twist to the avocado dip. - Plum Danish (270 yen): The plum compote in this pastry was subtly sweet and delicious, with the custard not overpowering the flavor. There are other variations of this pastry with different fruits, so choosing based on fruit compatibility might be a good idea. - Garlic French Bread (220 yen): Basil and garlic flavors were strong in this bread, which I enjoyed with a beer. The seasoning was not overpowering, and the bread had a nice aroma of wheat, making it a great snack. - Homemade Curry Bread (220 yen): Made with meat from a nearby butcher, this curry bread was delicious. The meat flavor was rich, but not overwhelming. The quality of the bread and the overall taste of the curry bread were outstanding. - Egg Sandwich: I really love this sandwich. It's not incredibly delicious, but it makes me feel super energetic when I eat it in the morning. Some might find it incredibly tasty, but for me, it's more about the boost of energy it gives. Overall, these are some hidden gem bakery recommendations from someone who doesn't often visit this area. I like to explore local bakeries on my drives with my kids, and I find reviews like these helpful. Just keep in mind that this bakery may not be open all the time, so it's best to contact them in advance. Enjoy!

I went to a popular shop in Nishikyogoku after 9 o'clock, but there were still many people coming in despite the COVID restrictions. I was aiming for the an butter bread, but it was sold out, so I bought a cream anpan instead - it was delicious! I heard that the an butter bread is sold in the morning, so I will try to go in the morning next time!
