A restaurant on the 11th floor of Kyoto Cube Building where you can enjoy freshly fried skewers right in front of you. They serve salad sticks as a starter, and I was surprised to find green onions in them. There are different sauces lined up in front of the counter, but unfortunately, there was no explanation from the staff about them. It would be helpful if they could at least explain which sauce is in each container. I ordered an 8-piece skewer set, which came with rice and coffee jelly for dessert, so I left feeling satisfied. Despite the lack of explanation from the staff, all the skewers were delicious, and I would love to come back again.

After enjoying the autumn leaves light-up, we casually headed to Kyoto Station. We were undecided on what to eat, but then we stumbled upon a tempura skewer restaurant that my daughter loves. We opted for the course menu. It was great that within the course, you could choose between a rice set or alcohol. I went for a draft beer, while my daughter chose a rice bowl with raw egg. When I mentioned my dislikes, they kindly accommodated by offering different selections, which made my daughter, who doesn't like shiitake mushrooms, very happy. Starting with beef skewers, moving on to prawn and shiitake mushrooms (except for me), the freshly fried tempura skewers were delicious! There were various sauces to enjoy with each skewer, making it a delightful evening of delicious food. We even had coffee jelly for dessert at the end. The slightly bitter and bouncy jelly was delicious. We had a great time enjoying delicious food in Kyoto.

I apologize for being persistent, but I have been going to Kyoto a lot recently for my lessons. This time, I wandered around the restaurant floor on the 11th floor of Kyoto Station Building and decided to try Kushi no Bosan. I ordered the Shiosai lunch set (8 types of deep-fried skewers) for 1,980 yen (at that time). First, I was served with fresh vegetables with dip, which were delicious. The quality of the ingredients is evident. The deep-fried skewers were also delicious as they were served freshly fried. Each skewer was served with sauce and salt, and the staff kindly explained how to eat them. The deep-fried asparagus skewer at the end was quite impressive. Considering the delicious taste and reasonable price, I highly recommend this as one of the dining options for sightseeing in Kyoto. (*´∀`*)

Today was my third vaccine shot. I chose the Kyoto Tower venue, so I went to Kyoto Station and thought about going to a shop I haven't been to in a while. However, around 1 o'clock, everywhere was crowded. I ended up here, which I haven't been to in a long time. Especially since the start of the pandemic, it's been hard to have a freshly fried meal at the counter. I ordered the "Shiosai Course" for 1,980 yen (tax included). The course included vegetable sticks (carrot, cucumber, radish, cabbage, green onion, cherry tomato) and 8 skewers (pork with onion, shrimp, shiitake mushroom, chicken, white fish, konjac, bell pepper stuffed with minced chicken, asparagus), rice, red miso soup, plenty of pickles, shredded mountain pepper, dessert: coffee jelly, kinako stick. The hot skewers were crispy and delicious, with a nice aroma of Osaka skewer lard. The rice portion was small, but the generous pickles were a nice touch. The dessert served with hot hojicha was also a nice surprise. Overall, the skewers I had after a long time were delicious. Priced at up to 2,000 yen, it is a great option for lunch. I would like to come back if I suddenly crave it again. 3.3

I haven't had kushikatsu in a while, so I decided to go. I was undecided on where to go, but I remembered a restaurant at Kyoto Station's Cube and looked it up on Tabelog. Kushinobosan. The restaurant is located on the 11th floor of the Cube, and there was a wait of about 20 minutes even during lunchtime. The interior of the restaurant had a counter and a raised seating area in one corner. We sat at the counter. I had already looked at the menu and ordered the lunch set "Yutaka" (1760 yen) which included beef, angel shrimp, asparagus, salad, rice, miso soup, and pickles. The set came with salad, rice, miso soup, and pickles, and then about two skewers of kushikatsu (a total of 10 skewers) were served. There were several types of sauce and salt available. The container for used skewers was also cute. Surprisingly, all the kushikatsu were delicious, especially the angel shrimp skewer which was crispy and really tasty. The miso soup and rice seemed to be refillable, as I saw others getting refills. I was satisfied with being able to enjoy all this for under 2000 yen.

There was no explanation of the types of sauces available, and there was no guidance on which sauce to use for each skewer. At this skewer restaurant, the taste was average. I tried various skewers and left feeling full.

My younger brother called me, which is rare, and we went out for drinks in Kyoto. We both traveled and met up at Isetan on the 11th floor above the station at "Kushinobo". We had eaten fried skewers two days ago, but we liked it so we decided to go again. We left the skewers up to the chef. We started with draft beer and then switched to sake. Since we were in Kyoto, they had Aosora sake available, so we gladly enjoyed it. This sake is not commonly found in Tokyo, but it is quite common in Kyoto. It was a different experience compared to the skewers we had at Yaesho in Shinsekai Janjan Yokocho two days ago. The skewers at Kushinobo were elegant and refined, which was also good in its own way. Thank you for the meal.

I have only been to Kushikatsu no Bo-san in Kyoto, but I really like it because the lunch is relatively affordable and you can enjoy freshly fried kushikatsu in a calm atmosphere. The lunch beer is a normal size glass, which is enough, but I ended up ordering a second regular draft beer (≧∇≦) I had the 10-piece kushikatsu lunch course for 1700 yen. The shiitake mushroom, angel shrimp, and asparagus were especially delicious. The konnyaku topped with hachimitsu miso was also tasty. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Kushino Bo for the first time in a while and sat at the counter seat. I ordered the lunch set "舞" which included 9 types of kushikatsu such as pork fillet, shrimp, and shiso roll. It came with salad, rice, and miso soup. I enjoyed changing the flavors with salt and sauce, and the meal ended with a satisfying asparagus. I was quite full after the meal. Kushino Bo was not bad after all. I hope to visit again sometime.

The restaurant is located on the 12th floor of Kyoto Station ISETAN. The lunch menu is quite a good deal, but this time for a celebration, we opted for the course menu offered in the evening, which turned out to be quite expensive. I couldn't help but feel envious of the menu choices of the people sitting next to us. I think it's better to go for the affordable lunch set and add some a la carte items. The lunch beer is served in a small glass for 350 yen, which is quite pricey. Also, the pickles and other side dishes displayed on the counter during lunch make the value of the evening course with fragrant dishes less appealing. The Kyoto-exclusive course we ordered this time had better quality ingredients and came with a dessert.

Today's lunch was very satisfying! During work, I gulped down some tea and enjoyed some kushikatsu. The lunch set for 1700 yen was a great deal. I was so focused on eating that I hardly took any photos (´・ω・`) The set of 10 skewers was a good value and the quality was excellent! I only managed to take a photo of the asparagus and angel shrimp at the end. With many places crowded during spring break, this restaurant was relatively easy to get into, so I recommend it! Thank you for the delicious meal ♡

When it comes to kushikatsu, the image of having it with beer at night is common, but having kushikatsu for lunch is also great. You can have miso soup and rice refills too. The freshly fried kushikatsu is served at a good pace, not too slow or too fast, allowing you to enjoy it. I enjoyed the hot kushikatsu very much.

The omakase course is truly left to the chef's choice. Just like with WanKo soba, if you stay quiet, the skewers keep coming endlessly. You end up reflexively eating them, and before you know it, you've eaten 4 or 5 skewers. You have to slow down and say, "Please take it easy," to pace yourself! But I easily went over 10 skewers. The batter is light and elegant. However, if you get carried away, you might end up overeating and the bill might become quite high. Slowing down was a relief. I think it's nice to fill up your stomach at the first place. If you eat and drink a lot, the cost might be a bit high, I think.

As an Osaka native, I have always had a high-class image of kushikatsu, and I loved the refined and long-established feel of Kushikatsu Tanaka in Hozenji. This time, I found out that there is also a branch in Kyoto and made a reservation to take a friend who was not familiar with it. However, my friend, who did not know about Hozenji, said it was delicious. I felt sorry for the gap in my expectations. The kushikatsu restaurant in the station building turned out to be more casual. The breading was sloppy, the speed of serving was too fast for us, and the kushikatsu piled up and got cold. The newly introduced deep-fried cabbage roll was difficult to eat and I gave up on it. The refined and creative dishes that I used to enjoy at Hozenji were nowhere to be found! The prices were cheaper and the atmosphere was different from Hozenji. If they are aiming for sales based on the turnover rate in the station building, it would be better to change the name to something like "Kushi no Bo 2" to avoid misleading people who have an image of Hozenji. There was no atmosphere even when taking photos, so we focused on eating and left soon after.
