There are several dining options in BiVi 2nd Street, but when I'm in the mood for Bigla Pong, I head over to Kura Sushi. There's also a 100-yen shop next door, so you can do some shopping while you wait. The staff, especially the women who seem to be housewives, are efficient and friendly.

Visited on a Tuesday night around 8pm. It was quite crowded. Used the system at the entrance to input my information and was seated at a designated counter seat. Ordered sardine, sea urchin, and marinated tuna using the touch panel! The sushi arrived in about 5 minutes. Next, I had mackerel and fatty tuna nigiri, and finished with plain udon noodles. The sushi was delicious as expected, but the biggest surprise was how good the udon was! Definitely worth trying. I ended up eating more than I thought I would.

At the end of the year, there was a fair going on and some menu items were discounted. I ordered the shrimp avocado (from 165 yen to 115 yen) and the onion salmon (from 165 yen to 115 yen) to compare. Both dishes had a good amount of onions. In conclusion, I think these prices are fair, but the regular prices may be a bit high. The weekday-only udon with tempura flakes (160 yen) had only tempura flakes as toppings, which was a bit plain, but it's a budget-friendly option.

On my way back home, I found Kura Sushi! I'll have my favorite "Shrimp Avocado" and "Scallop" to eat on my way back. I'll definitely be getting seconds of these two! The whole shrimp tempura is also delicious. I thought I would eat lightly, but ended up eating quite a bit... Thank you for the meal! (๑>◡<๑)

A store located about a 5-minute walk west of JR Nijo Station. It was my first visit, and I was able to dine without interacting with any staff from entering to ordering to leaving, like some sort of non-contact sushi conveyor system. Will more places adopt this format in the future? It's convenient, but I also had some mixed feelings. It's non-smoking, which is good, but during lunchtime when time is tight, it might be convenient.

It seems like there are large grains of pearl clams available only on weekends, so I decided to have lunch at Kura Sushi. I ordered a set of two types of large pearl clams, onion salmon, chutoro, engawa, and grilled cheese salmon. I was able to order multiple plates of the pearl clams I wanted, and they were larger than usual. The gunkan-maki with the pearl clams had a lot of them and provided a satisfying taste. Although the overall size of the sushi has gotten smaller recently, the pearl clams were of a decent size. It was my first time trying the pearl clam gunkan-maki, and it was delicious with plenty of pearl clams on top. I didn't eat much of the other dishes because I focused on the pearl clams, but everything was consistently delicious as usual. It had been a while since I last visited Kura Sushi, and I noticed that the sushi pieces were smaller than before. However, this allows for a variety of options and since delivery is not available, I would like to come back again to dine in.

I went to the restaurant on May 28, 2020 at 9:00 pm, right after the end of the COVID-19 self-restraint period, so there was no waiting time and I was seated right away. There were not many customers, so there were many menu items missing, but the taste was consistently good. Among conveyor belt sushi restaurants, I think this one has the best quality. The side menu items, in particular, are delicious. I always order the tantanmen noodles, which are not too filling, so you can enjoy them with sushi. The fried foods are also delicious, so I recommend them as well.

The shop was rated 3.04 during the visit. On New Year's Day, returning from a distant place at night, there seemed to be no open restaurants to have a meal. Even chain restaurants that are usually open on New Year's Day seemed to be closed this year. Could it be that I am a dinner refugee? At that moment, I saw the light of Kura Sushi. I thought there would be a long line for dining in, so I decided to get takeout instead. As expected, there was a long line inside the store, but the takeout section was empty. I got a set with plenty of medium fatty tuna and popular salad gunkan sushi for 2700 yen including tax. The tuna was frozen, but it was pretty good if eaten right away. The gunkan sushi was exceptionally delicious. The taste, volume, and affordability lived up to my expectations. Moreover, they were open during the New Year's holidays in this current situation. It was a satisfying experience.

Now it's Demon Slayer gacha. Personally, I didn't like sardines and fish cakes. Chawanmushi was a drink. It was easy to eat and delicious.

After a long time, I went to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. I was able to get in without waiting in line! The menu had changed completely. They had dishes like hamburger, beef kalbi, seared pork with ponzu sauce, cheese, Iberico pork, saury fry, deep-fried squid legs, chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), broccoli salad, corn gunkan sushi. I didn't eat any regular raw fish sushi (lol). I forgot to take pictures of the egg, squid fry, and kura dashi.

I ordered the thick and fatty chutoro sashimi mackerel soy sauce ramen for 360 yen and various other items. I was hoping for the soy sauce ramen to be good, but it tasted like typical ramen you would find at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. I don't think I will order it again. As for the other sushi dishes, they were okay for the price. Thank you for the meal.

Sometimes you just crave it out of the blue! Or maybe you just feel like counting the plates. I went to Kura Sushi behind Nijo Station. I arrived around 6 pm and was prepared for a 30-minute wait at the counter and a 40-minute wait at the table, but... there weren't many counter seats, so I was seated in about 20 minutes. I had eel, yuzu kalbi (I think it's a limited-time item), and some small snacks like fried chicken, which were delicious. When I thought I was full, I checked the plate count and it was 18 plates... Just 2 more plates to go... and of course, I ended up eating them, haha. The Shari Cola was also delicious! As expected, we didn't win, and we settled the bill with exactly 20 plates for two people.

There is a restaurant adjacent to the 100-yen shop, so I decided to stop by. Although there are no reviews for the conveyor belt sushi restaurant, I found that they offer more than just sushi - they have a variety of dishes like curry, udon, and ramen. It's nice to have a restaurant where you can enjoy sushi as well as other options. At Kura Sushi, you can play a game by inserting plates. While they had some good sushi options, the rice didn't quite match well with the toppings, resulting in a taste that was the opposite of delicious. However, they excel in being affordable, fast, and fun. On a later visit, I tried their curry bread, but unfortunately, it didn't suit my taste. The cost-effectiveness at the time of payment was not great either, making me realize that the conveyor belt sushi industry is quite competitive. Thank you for the meal.

The next day, I went shopping at the Fresco in Nijo for a barbecue. I bought charcoal, sheets, paper plates, and various other things. My partner said he was hungry, so we decided to stop by the Kurasushi next door. I wasn't really hungry, so I just went along. While chatting, I noticed a limited menu item called "Ebi Ishizawa Dressing" created by Kenichi Ishizawa, a former head chef at a famous Japanese restaurant. I decided to try it, and it was shrimp sushi topped with sliced onions, green onions, and Ishizawa dressing. It tasted like a soy sauce-based French dressing, delicious but nothing too special. Suddenly, the sushi conveyor belt stopped working, causing chaos in the restaurant. The staff were rushing around trying to fix it, and for a while, only the manual order rail was working. It was a strange experience, but after about 10 minutes, it was fixed. It was a unique experience, and I even got to try the Ishizawa dressing. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, and I even got a bit of my partner's udon. Thank you for the meal!
