The former New City Hotel has been renovated into THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku in August last year. The hotel has a simple modern and spacious lobby, which was a surprising transformation. The hotel's bakery, Morethan, is located along Shinjuku Central Park, offering a wonderful location. The bread is of high quality and the atmosphere is lovely. You can also enjoy your meal in the spacious hotel lounge. The majority of guests are foreigners, but it would be a shame to keep this beautiful location only for them. It would be great if more locals could discover and enjoy this place. The bakery has a classic feel, contrasting nicely with the modern hotel. The space is well-designed, and the lounge and tapas bar across from it seem inviting. The bread I purchased, including a chestnut bread and a baguette, was delicious. The chestnut bread had a perfect balance of sweetness and moistness, making it suitable for both a meal and a snack. The baguette had a gentle yeast aroma and a chewy texture, indicating a high level of quality. The prices are reasonable and the place is easy to visit. It would be nice to enjoy the bread in Shinjuku Central Park during the warmer seasons. It's great that such a nice place has opened up. Although the location near Shinjuku City Hall may not be the most convenient, pairing it with Central Park makes it quite enjoyable. Hopefully, more Japanese customers will visit in the future.

-Paprika Rustic (400 yen) and Sausage Danish (550 yen) -Visited at 12:15 on a weekday. 3 customers in the store. -Lunch exploration in Nishi-Shinjuku 3-chome. Located on the 1st floor of THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku hotel. Surprisingly nice and stylish atmosphere in the open facility. -There are two other stores in the hotel with the same capital or name but different genres: -MORETHAN TAPAS LOUNGE (Spanish buffet) -MORETHAN GRILL (Italian) -After purchasing, you can eat near the store on chairs. However, on this day, the weather was nice so we ate in the nearby Shinjuku Central Park. -We chose two savory options. The price for the bread might be considered high, but the two items we chose this time were very delicious and satisfying. -Paprika Rustic: The chewiness of the dough and the fluffiness when torn were delicious. It was the first time I found bread to be this tasty. -Sausage Danish: The thick sausage was spicy and meaty, providing a satisfying bite. The Danish pastry was crispy and tasty. -There were many varieties, so I would like to revisit and enjoy them in Shinjuku Central Park once it gets a little cooler. -I wish I could have this kind of bread every morning. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The bakery at this hotel is surprisingly reasonable despite the high quality. Many people buy in bulk and there is a long line at the cashier. The staff speaks fluent English, impressing the foreign customers. The saba sandwich for 780 yen is just the right size for two people, with delicious flavors and textures. The paprika rustic bread for 400 yen is Italian and my favorite. The lemon donut for 200 yen is popular but best eaten fresh. The quin aman for 300 yen is a perfect snack with a crispy and moist texture. The cheese bagel for 400 yen is light and tasty, perfect for a quick snack. The red bean butter stick for 300 yen has a unique texture with beans and a hint of salt in the butter.

The French bread is too delicious! I went out to eat for the first time in a while. I was looking for a place where I could also have breakfast, and I ended up at this bakery. I walked quite a bit from the station, but as soon as I ate the saba sandwich, I forgot about that. The bread was so delicious, not just the atmosphere... I also had a cinnamon donut for eating in, and that was delicious too. Not too sweet, not too hard, just the right texture. The hot coffee I ordered had a foreigner's atmosphere, making me feel like I was overseas, and the staff's atmosphere was very welcoming. I only mentioned the bakery this time, but I will also post pictures of the lunch buffet. Please note that I did not rate the bakery. Thank you.

After having soba for lunch at Shinjuku Nomura Building, I visited "MORETHAN BAKERY" on the 1st floor of "THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku" in Nishi-Shinjuku. This bakery is operated by "MOTHERS Inc." and is part of a collaborative effort with "MORETHAN TAPAS LOUNGE" on the same floor and "MORETHAN GRILL" on the 2nd floor of the hotel. In addition to this bakery, they also have "Boulangerie Bistro EPEE" and "SUNDAY VEGAN" in Kichijoji. I was intrigued by the label for "SUNDAY VEGAN" among the selection of bread. It wasn't until later when I looked back at the photos and researched that I realized it was vegan bread. There were so many items with labels that I thought they must be recommended products. In Shinjuku, where people from all over the world visit, there is a high demand for vegan food. To meet this demand, MORETHAN BAKERY holds "SUNDAY VEGAN" every Sunday, offering over 30 varieties of vegan bread. The items I purchased without knowing this were: - Rustic Seaweed (300 yen) (Vegan) - Brown Sugar Salt Butter Roll (200 yen) - Rosemary Focaccia (300 yen) (Vegan) - Banana Bread (450 yen) (Vegan) - Long-Aged Raisin Bread (380 yen) The Rustic Seaweed had a nostalgic flavor reminiscent of "tagane mochi," a local dish from Ibaraki Prefecture. The Brown Sugar Salt Butter Roll had a delightful aroma and taste. The Banana Bread had a unique texture and flavor, while the Long-Aged Raisin Bread was soft and flavorful. MORETHAN BAKERY has developed vegan bread to cater to the demand for vegan options, focusing on creating delicious bread that even non-vegans can enjoy. They have faced challenges in creating vegan bread, but through creativity and innovation, they have succeeded in making vegan bread that surprises customers. The term "vegan" was coined in 1944 when the Vegan Society was founded in the UK. Unlike vegetarians who may consume dairy or eggs, vegans strictly avoid all animal products.

Today I had a morning at "MORETHAN BAKERY" with a Cinnamon Pretzel (300 yen). The shop is located on the 1st floor of "HOTEL THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku". The first time I came was in the midst of the coronavirus in 2021, and I was able to enjoy a leisurely meal at a large table in the empty lobby. However, when I visited again after a long time, it was filled with foreign customers. Since almost everyone around me was foreign, I could feel like I was abroad! The Cinnamon Pretzel was chewy and delicious. There were also various types of bread, with freshly baked delicious-looking bread being replenished one after another. There is also a restaurant of the same series across the street, so I plan to visit there next time.

A bakery on the first floor of the hotel! I had visited the restaurant in the same hotel that offers these breads several times, but it was my first time purchasing from the bakery ⭐︎ Since it is a hotel in Nishi-Shinjuku, most of the customers were foreigners, making it feel like I was overseas. When I visited around 9-10 o'clock, there were freshly baked breads lined up. I immediately tried the freshly made sandwich at the adjacent restaurant. The bread was fluffy and the fillings were fresh and generous, but I could eat it all up easily! I didn't try the croissant and quiche as I gave them to my friend as a gift, but they said it was delicious ^ 0 ^ I want to try various breads by visiting the bakery from time to time. Thank you for the meal!

I visited a delicious bakery that I found. It was located inside a hotel, which I had researched beforehand and knew that the hotel guests were mostly foreigners. It seems to be a bakery for foreign guests, so I had high expectations for the taste. I bought two types of cheese bread, and both were delicious. The quality of the cheese was high. It's a shame that this delicious bakery is not well-known.

A stylish bakery attached to the hotel! The timing was a bit off and the selection was not the best, but there were many breads that I personally liked, and they were all delicious! I ordered croque monsieur, French toast, and sugar butter toast.

My favorite hotel bakery for takeout. It opens at 8 am, and there were already 5 groups waiting before opening today. About 80% of the customers are Western foreigners. I've taken out from here at least 10 times, but it's hard to take photos because of the atmosphere, and I love it too much to post about it (^^) My favorite is the seaweed roll, but everything is delicious (^^) Today's takeout includes egg sandwich (550 yen), croque monsieur (450 yen), anchovy olive bread (300 yen), seaweed roll (300 yen), croissant (320 yen), and French toast (210 yen), totaling 2,130 yen. Today's discovery was the French toast! It's not too sweet and not soggy, very delicious (^^)/

On Monday at 11 o'clock, the restaurant and hotel lounge were full of foreign customers. When I asked for a grilled cheese at the register, I was told that they were closed on Mondays. So, I ordered a mackerel sandwich for ¥780 and a hot coffee for ¥500 from the sandwich showcase. The crispy baguette with salty filling tasted really delicious, especially on a hot day. The sandwich had a comforting mix of potatoes, celery, and even pickled radish, creating a harmonious and tasty mackerel sandwich. The atmosphere of the hotel added to the foreign feel of the place. I also saw other bread options that looked hearty and delicious, with a tempting international flair. I definitely want to come back to try more at this place.

It was around 4:30 in the evening, so there were few bread options available, but there were still some slices of bread and sandwiches left. Since it was inside a hotel, you could eat in the lobby. There were seats available when I arrived, and the seats near the front desk had outlets, so I was able to work on my computer. Next time, I'd like to try the sandwiches in the cooler case too!

Saba sandwich for ¥750 and vegan chocolate bagel for ¥410. I've been here before and I'm a repeat customer. The saba sandwich is amazing with the aroma and texture of saba and iburigakko, combined with potato salad. The sprouts are a nice touch. The bagel is soft and delicious. The chocolate is plentiful and satisfying! I will definitely go back again!

Fried eggplant and hummus open sandwich ¥510, Berry cacao donut ¥230, Multigrain bagel ¥310. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon after finishing nearby errands. The shop is located to the left inside the hotel building, with a restaurant to the right. In front, there is a large table area filled with a lively and relaxing holiday atmosphere. The open sandwich had a rich flavor and fresh greens, very delicious. The cacao donut had a nice level of sweetness, with tasty berry flavors. The bagel I purchased was the same as the one used for the open sandwich, large but light. A variety of options to choose from, I definitely want to go back.

It's difficult to categorize the genre, but this bakery is really good. I especially like going on their vegan day on weekends and I'm currently hooked on their bread. Each bread has a deep and delicious flavor, but my favorite is the sour cream sandwich. The combination of sauce, vegetables, and the bread's deliciousness is amazing. Highly recommended croquette bread too.

I went before lunchtime on a regular day, and it was incredibly crowded as rumored. While it was easy to choose bread, the line at the register was so long that it extended out of the store and into the lobby of the hotel. This time, I mainly bought croissants and truffle bread, but it may not have been worth waiting in such a long line. It's a good souvenir if you are dining at the restaurant on the same floor or staying at the hotel, but it's quite far from Shinjuku Station, so I don't think it's worth making a special trip just for this bakery. It's a trendy bakery that's typical of this era.

I visited around 3 pm on Sunday. Perhaps due to the rain, there were not many customers, so I was able to take my time choosing. Today was Vegan Day, so all the items were vegan. I tried the donuts and French toast, and they were delicious. It was hard to believe that they didn't use eggs or anything. I would like to visit on other days to try different items. Oh, if you take out, they only provide paper bags for a fee, no plastic bags. The bread is wrapped in paper, so if you are worried about oil leaking, I recommend bringing your own plastic bag. (I wish they would put it in a plastic bag, even for a fee. My friend's baguette was unfortunately affected by the rain.)

It's not lunchtime, it's morning. I arrived at this place at 7:50, even though it opens at 8. The smell of bread fills the storefront, so I sat on the hotel lounge sofa, thinking about what to buy. As soon as it opened, I entered. The baguette is a must, and I also bought a sandwich for lunch. I love egg sandwiches. The bread is delicious, and the egg salad is also delicious. But, there is a problem - it's too much for one person to finish. A luxurious dilemma. The staff at the store were also very nice, making it a perfect start to a wonderful day!
