I visited Kyoto Horumon Kura Shijo Teramachi branch for lunch just before noon. The popular ramen shop nearby had a long line, so I decided to try their steak set lunch with extra rice. The rice, sourced from a famous supplier, had a glossy texture and was cooked to my preference - slightly firm. The steak portion was average, but it looked just like the menu photo and was served medium. The meat was not tough, but lacked a strong flavor. Overall, I found it to be a good value for money considering the reasonable prices in Kyoto, and the delicious rice made it a satisfying meal.

Lunch Yukkejang Kuppa set meal for 1078 yen (tax included) with side dishes, salad, and pickles. It's nice to be able to eat a vegetable-packed Yukkejang Kuppa at this price around Kawaramachi. There was plenty of beef tendon meat. The fatty part was delicious! The only downside is that the counter on the first floor faces directly towards the kitchen, so you can hear the staff's conversations and it doesn't have a relaxing atmosphere. When you want to eat cheap and delicious meat quickly, this is a good place to go. ◎

I finally visited the restaurant after years of wanting to go. The experience exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed dishes with lots of green onions and duck meat in a relaxed atmosphere. The service was great, the prices were reasonable, and the location was convenient.

Next to Fujii Daimaru in Shijo Teramachi, Kyoto, there is a yakiniku restaurant that has been around for a long time. I went to explore it with some friends. We went to "Kyoto Horumon Kura". ★Kimchi assortment, cook it heartily★Domestic wagyu beef with green onions, this is a real deal, cook it roughly and eat it, this is the essence of popular yakiniku. I resisted the rice. ★Assortment of 6 types of wagyu beef includes kalbi, neck, skirt, triangular belly, skirt steak, and loin. It seems to be the most popular menu at the restaurant. Each one has its own characteristics and it's fun to compare them. ★Wagyu heart rare steak, no smell, good texture, good cooking. It's delicious with yuzu pepper. ★Wagyu misuji steak, rough and firm but still good. ★Wagyu sirloin steak, you can really taste the sirloin and it has a strong marbling. ★Added on the loin (probably haneshita). ★Homemade namul and kimchi with Kura's special cold noodles, with bibimbap ingredients. It was quite refreshing.

Located in a prime location in Teramachi, Kyoto, this townhouse-style yakiniku restaurant, "Kyoto Horumon Kura Teramachi," offers A4-ranked black wagyu beef at reasonable prices. From a tasting platter of 6 different types of wagyu beef to rare cuts like harami steak and ribeye, this place is perfect for dates or group gatherings with its generous portions!

Honestly, I was disappointed. The rice was bad, to be precise, it tasted like it was just microwaved from frozen. Anyone who loves rice would understand. It's not excusable to say it's just lunch. The basis of a lunch is rice. I won't be coming back to a restaurant where the rice isn't delicious. What a shame.

I had bibimbap! The price was cheap, and there were a lot of toppings on the plate. Miso soup and rice were supposed to be free refills! It's located next to Fushimi Daimaru, easy to find, and the second-floor seating was relaxing with not too many staff members around, so I could enjoy a nice lunch.

Yakiniku! It seems that lunch is crowded, but we had the place to ourselves for dinner on a weekday. We had a kimchi assortment, tan kalbi, duck loin, hormone assortment, yukkejang soup, pot ice cream (matcha with black honey and kinako). We were both full and everything was delicious. I don't eat yakiniku often, but I want to come back again! I got full quickly, so I wanted to try more variety of dishes! The alcohol, ginger highball, was not ordered but surprisingly cheap at 299 yen, with other drinks also at a discounted price of 99 yen. The meat was cost-effective and excellent.

The hormone was delicious with a bouncy texture. Dip it in Kochujang and wrap it in rice for a happy meal. If it's too spicy, you can drink the udon broth. The broth, made with Nishikyo miso, is sweet and gentle. Thanks to the bowl, it stays hot until the end. The vegetables like green onions, carrots, and daikon are also sweet and delicious. I always had doubts about vegetables on noodles, but this is tasty. There were 5 or 6 pieces of hormone, so I was satisfied. I even had a second helping of rice. Even if there's rice left over, there's pickles, so it's okay. The tofu doesn't matter. It was drizzled with a soy sauce with a hint of perilla. I forgot. The only downside was the menu without tax included. For this content at 850 yen, I thought it was something to be proud of at this location near Kawaramachi! But with tax included, it's 935 yen. If it had been written from the beginning, I wouldn't have thought anything of it, but now I feel a bit deceived and disappointed. Still, with this content, it's worth it. Next time, I'll try the rice bowl. Thank you for the meal. It was just past one on a weekday, and there were seats available at the counter, so I could eat right away. But I wonder how it is during peak lunch hours?

Today's second stop. I wanted to eat something of moderate quantity in about 30 minutes, so I decided to try this place that caught my eye. They have dishes like Kalbi Beef Bowl (950 yen tax included) and Namul Bibimbap Set (918 yen) that look delicious with meat on top of rice. I was drawn to the words "Special Wagyu Beef Rice Set" for 950 yen (tax included). The interior of the restaurant is surprisingly small, and it's hard to imagine a large group enjoying yakiniku here. It seems like there is a second floor though. As usual, I took a seat at the counter. I could see the kitchen, and I watched the chef preparing the order for the previous customer. Soon, my order arrived. In the center of the tray, there was a generous portion of beef, surrounded by salad, cold tofu, soup, and pickles. Here, you can have unlimited refills of rice and soup, but I doubt I'll need a refill of this rice. The first bite was quite sweet. I could taste the quality of the beef, but I couldn't help but think of Yoshinoya's beef bowl. Perhaps the taste level here is a step above Yoshinoya. The egg in the middle was very soft, and it blended seamlessly with the meat when I mixed it in. It wasn't bad, but I felt like the seasoning was a bit too strong for this dish. The soup was a simple clear seaweed soup. I think next time I'll try the Steak Set (1,058 yen) or the Harami Yakiniku Set (950 yen) to really enjoy the rice. They mentioned that showing the receipt will give me a 10% discount on my next visit, so I might take advantage of that.

A friend made a reservation at this restaurant, and four of us had dinner there. When we arrived, I was happy to see that it was the same place I had been curious about on my usual route! I recently started using Tabelog (a restaurant review app), and I plan to only post pictures of restaurants I will visit in the future without including ones I have already been to. However, the meat at this restaurant was not as delicious as my favorite yakiniku place. None of us said "delicious" and we just ate and talked. I don't remember what we ate because it didn't leave much of an impression. There was nothing bad about the place, but I can't think of anything particularly good either. The food was served quickly, that's about it. We spent a little over ¥16,000 for four people. The portions were small, so if you eat a lot, it could get expensive. At the end, they even offered us warm tea or water without us having to ask.

I happened to come across this place and stopped by. As expected from a hormone (offal) restaurant, the meat is incredibly delicious. The harmony of eggs, meat, and rice is superb.

Two people spent 11,000 yen casually. The harami was tender and delicious, the drinks were cheap, and the finishing touch was also delicious. However, the lettuce was small, the miso was sweet, and the garlic chips didn't go well with it. The tongue was pickled in a pot, but when it was poured over the top, it was not that great. Thank you for the meal!

I ordered a course with all-you-can-drink option. The yakiniku was elegant and meant to be eaten slowly, like in a high-end restaurant.

It was my first visit, so I decided to go with the course menu. I usually don't choose regular yakiniku restaurants with open tables or tatami seating, but I was able to relax and have a conversation in the semi-private booth while enjoying some drinks, which was great. The dim lighting was also nice. As for the taste, it was just average, neither good nor bad. The all-you-can-drink option was also fine. Overall, there were no issues and I would like to visit again. There were a lot of young people at the location, but it gets quite quiet around 9 pm. (laughs)

The steak set meal has tough and fibrous meat, not something I would want to eat again. The harami set meal has tender meat, lightly seasoned and easy to eat.
