Gion and other areas in the city are extremely crowded during the cherry blossom season. I always enjoy having afternoon tea or meals at Higashiyama, where I am always satisfied. When I asked, unbelievably, there was one available seat! I made a reservation right away. The food was delicious as always, and the service was exceptional. They even considerate of solo diners. I will definitely come back here next time I am alone!

Located in the basement of the Hyatt Regency Kyoto, the Japanese restaurant "Touzan" offers a spacious dining area with a variety of seating options, including counter seats and private rooms. The atmosphere is welcoming and not at all cramped, with a view of a stone garden adding to the charm. The restaurant is perfect for hosting foreign guests, with a good selection of local craft beers and reasonably priced sake. The meal starts with a variety of small dishes, including a delicious croquette filled with pork belly and a rich crab soup. The sashimi course features Thai snapper and yellowtail, both served with a generous amount of grated wasabi. The grilled dish is a tender Japanese beef sirloin, while the simmered dish includes Kyoto turnip and boiled tofu skin. The meal concludes with a flavorful rice dish, although some may find it too subtle. Overall, the course menu is reasonably priced and the service is excellent, making it a great choice for a hotel dining experience. However, the dishes may lack a unique touch and feel somewhat generic. For a more creative and unique experience, it is recommended to try their afternoon tea, which showcases a blend of traditional Japanese flavors.

I visited for an afternoon tea on a national holiday. I arrived a little early, but they kindly let me wait comfortably. The taste was excellent, and the presentation was very elegant and cute. The explanations were easy to understand. The tea was delicious, so I ended up buying some to take home. ^^

I visited the restaurant TOUZAN in Hyatt Regency Kyoto located in Higashiyama, Kyoto for the first time! I was looking for a Japanese lunch with my friend and found this place. Today, we ordered the [Sushi Soba Zen] course. It costs 5000 yen per person (drinks not included). The course includes an appetizer, tempura, cold soba noodles, sushi, and dessert. The sushi came with 5 pieces and a thin roll. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice, the interior was beautiful and clean. The sushi, tempura, and soba noodles were all very delicious! It was a luxurious lunch. Considering it's a hotel restaurant, 5000 yen for this meal seems reasonable. I will definitely visit again! Thank you for the meal!

The atmosphere in Kyoto was unique and the dishes were beautifully presented. Especially the last dish, the mixed rice, was incredibly delicious. Even though I was already full, I couldn't stop eating! I ordered a drink called Kyoto Yuzu Cider, and even though I don't drink alcohol, they served it in a glass for me to enjoy the atmosphere. I definitely want to go back to this restaurant. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The Japanese restaurant located within the Hyatt Regency offers a traditional course menu with dishes such as simmered dishes, grilled fish, and sashimi. Each dish was well-prepared and presented, but there was nothing particularly outstanding. The service was good, with the staff willingly taking photos for customers.

I visited Kyoto during late November when it was extremely crowded. I made a reservation in advance to avoid becoming a food refugee. The appetizer with persimmons was delicious, and all the dishes had a refined and gentle flavor. The presentation and portion sizes were just right.

I went to Hyatt Regency Kyoto with my parents for afternoon tea! The atmosphere is great, located next to Sanjusangendo Temple. We enjoyed our afternoon tea at the first-floor restaurant called Higashiyama. It's a collaboration with a traditional tea shop in Kyoto, and the garden is also lovely. The afternoon tea is served in a beautiful basket. The tea was delicious, and the savory and sweet treats were all very tasty. We also stopped by Sanjusangendo on our way back, feeling happy and satisfied. I highly recommend this afternoon tea experience at Hyatt Regency Kyoto.

During the cherry blossom viewing season, Kyoto was crowded everywhere! It was my father's birthday and he requested Japanese cuisine, so we chose this place. It was a last-minute decision, so the tables with a view were already full, which was a bit disappointing. However, I was glad we were able to make a reservation. The men in our group added a meat course, which turned out to be a good choice. The portions were small overall, so it might be a bit lacking for big eaters. The sashimi and other dishes were beautifully presented, as expected from a hotel serving Japanese cuisine. The only downside was the hot pot-like dish for one person, which was served in a pot with a lid, making it difficult to eat. I wish it was more like a bubbling hot pot. The last dish, the sakura shrimp rice, was incredibly delicious! I even had seconds. It was so good!! The restaurant has a stylish and pleasant atmosphere, although it's a bit difficult to access. Taking a taxi from Kyoto Station is recommended. Thank you for the wonderful meal! ♡

Hyatt Regency Kyoto's basement restaurant "Touzan" is originally a Japanese cuisine restaurant, but in recent years, they have been focusing on afternoon tea centered around Japanese tea. The atmosphere is pleasant, overlooking the garden of Hyatt Regency Kyoto. The presentation is cool, with a two-tier bamboo tea stand for the savory and sweet items. The food is delicious and well thought out, combining both Japanese and Western elements. The afternoon tea set includes a variety of savory and sweet items, along with a selection of high-quality teas. The scones are particularly tasty, unlike the usual dry ones found in other places. The price of 5,600 yen including tax is considered cheap for the quality and experience offered. Overall, the unique concept of afternoon tea with a focus on Japanese elements, combined with the excellent service and atmosphere, makes it a worthwhile experience.

Located right next to Sanjusangendo, in front of the Kyoto Museum, this hotel is a bit of a walk from Kyoto Station, about 20 minutes. The interior has a traditional Japanese atmosphere. There is a Japanese restaurant called Touzan, as well as a bar, located in the basement. Their afternoon tea includes a pairing of Gyokuro tea before the meal, unlimited refill of Hojicha tea during the meal, and Matcha tea after the meal. Before the Gyokuro tea, they serve a Kombucha chocolate to cleanse the palate, which was a unique experience. The afternoon tea menu is also Japanese-themed, with a variety of savory items. Among the impressive items, the standout was the mackerel sandwich. It had two slices of fatty mackerel sandwiched with pickles, which I particularly enjoyed. The Hojicha and raisin scone was crispy on the outside and moist inside, which I found delicious. The Matcha macaron was generously filled with a gooey Matcha ganache, providing a nice balance of bitterness. The chocolate and mugwort tart looked rich but had a surprising mugwort flavor inside. The hotel staff were friendly and approachable, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Overall, it was a delicious and unique afternoon tea experience.

I haven't made Osechi at home for the past few years. This year, I was guided to a private room at Higashiyama, where I have visited for lunch a few times. The New Year's dishes were reasonably priced and the service was very friendly and polite. The lunch dishes were luxurious and delicious, making me look forward to it. First, dishes like sesame seeds and black beans are lined up on the plate. Next, there is sashimi, Nishikyo-yaki, and finally white miso soup and dessert. The taste was delicious, but in terms of presentation, plates, and content, I thought there was a bit less of a New Year's feel compared to the content of the Westin I visited before. However, considering the price, it might be inevitable. The food at the Hyatt Kyoto restaurants is always delicious, so I would like to visit here for lunch again.

After visiting Sanjusangendo, I had a slightly late lunch at Hyatt Regency Kyoto. The clean interior with a charming garden was lovely. It had that quintessential Kyoto vibe that was simply wonderful. The soba, tempura, and sushi (sorry, no photos) were all consistently delicious! It made me appreciate Japanese cuisine even more. As expected from a renowned hotel, the quality of service was outstanding. Thank you for the incredible hospitality. I definitely want to visit again.

We visited the restaurant for lunch with four people and had the Sushi Soba Set. The menu included sesame tofu, lotus root manju, soba noodles with tempura, and sushi with delicious sea bream. The strawberry pudding was more like a mousse. They had good COVID-19 measures in place, and the staff was very friendly with perfect timing for serving the dishes. We spent about 1.5 hours there, enjoying the delicious food. Parking is free until the end of the year, even during the tourist season! Although you can also do sightseeing, we headed home. It was a hotel lunch we had always wanted to try, and we will definitely be returning.

We made a reservation for a group on Sunday afternoon and went to the restaurant. The space was chic and stylish, with a modern atmosphere. We had a semi-private room without any room charge. The tables and chairs were large and comfortable. We had the lunch course for 5345 yen (including tax). The assorted appetizers were delicious, especially the fresh yuba. The simmered root vegetables and nanohana were flavorful. The grilled shrimp was plump and tasty, with a delicious broth. The sashimi of sea bream and tuna was beautifully presented. The grilled mackerel was juicy and the myoga added a nice touch. The shrimp and taro dumpling had a delicious filling and was hot and tasty. The rice with chirimen sansho and pickles were also delicious. Even though we were quite full, we enjoyed the dessert with two types of sweets. The black honey kinako pudding had a nice texture and subtle sweetness. The matcha ice cream monaka had a crispy texture. Despite the lack of staff at the reception and the long wait to be seated, the overall experience was good. The lunch course was reasonable and the modern atmosphere and flavors were enjoyable. I would like to visit again if the issue with understaffing is resolved. The restaurant offered 3 hours of free parking for diners. Thank you for the meal.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency, where the restaurant is located underground, and used the kimono discount service plan! Two women visited in kimonos, and we were amazed to find out that one person gets to dine for free with this incredible kimono discount service. It's like a credit card discount offer from somewhere. We made a reservation for a 10,000 yen course in advance, and as always, I love the Hyatt Hotel. All arrangements, including reservations, were made through email with the Front Reservation Service staff. We dined at Higashiyama, which is divided into a bar floor and a restaurant floor. Geisha dance performances were held on the floor between 6:15 pm and 7 pm, and after that, each geisha visited each table for photo opportunities. It was very enjoyable. I had requested to be notified if a geisha was present, but unfortunately, that service was not provided. When I finally noticed the geisha's singing voice, I rushed outside and luckily managed to take photos. Even though there was a line of customers, it wasn't a large crowd, so we were able to take pictures smoothly. I focused more on the unique Kyoto service rather than the food in this review, but the food was also delicious. The interior was lovely, with beautiful lighting, ambiance, gardens, and private rooms. The sushi counter in the same floor was also charming, so I would like to visit alone next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

- The taste of the sushi was neither good nor bad, but the appetizers and soup were elegant and had a very delicious flavor. The tempura, with two large shrimp, was also very tasty.
- Service: We were seated at a good table with a view of the stone garden, and the staff provided detailed explanations of the dishes.
- Atmosphere: We enjoyed the Kyoto-like atmosphere while relaxing at our table by the stone garden.
- Cost Performance: Considering the location and atmosphere, it was understandable, but it was disappointing that adding coffee after the course cost an additional 1000 yen.

Located at the bottom of a dimly lit staircase illuminated by elegant paper lanterns, there is a Japanese restaurant called "Higashiyama". The interior is clean and modern with a bright open-air garden where cherry blossoms gently fall. It is a quiet and very atmospheric place. The lunch course (4300 yen + tax + 13% service charge) includes: - Appetizer (rapeseed mustard dip, firefly squid with Numata dressing, etc.) - Simmered dish (young bamboo shoot soup) - Sashimi (cherry sea bream, tuna) - Grilled dish (grilled trout with wood sorrel) - Side dish (potato dumpling with silver bean paste) - Rice - Dessert (orange jelly and fruits) Each dish was delicate and had a gentle flavor, very delicious. The texture of the sashimi was excellent, and the rich mouthfeel of the grilled trout with wood sorrel was memorable. The freshness and aroma of the rice also stood out, showcasing the quality of a hotel restaurant in Kyoto. I believe that this restaurant consistently offers high-quality dishes no matter when you visit. The service was understated yet attentive, showing their expertise. If you want to enjoy reliably good food in a calm atmosphere, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Hyatt Regency in Higashiyama, Kyoto is truly impressive. As expected in Kyoto, you can enjoy "the Japan" experience here. The hotel is spacious and everything is lovely, making it a perfect venue for weddings. Although it is a Japanese cuisine restaurant, the wine selection in the restaurant area is amazing. It promises a blissful time, making you feel happy. #Savannah in Lion♡
