When you leave the town hall of Kyotamba and continue straight on Route 9, a shop suddenly appears. I remember there used to be a family restaurant at this location, but now it is part of the Hikarikan group in Nantan City. The exterior is not too imposing and has an inviting atmosphere, with a spacious parking lot. There is a menu board in front of the shop. Inside, there are several private rooms, and there is also a small sunken kotatsu seating area near the register. For small groups, you will be seated at tables in the back area. This space may also be used for group dining with reservations, as there were paintings and decorations in the spacious area. In addition to lunch menus, there are also a la carte options available for dinner. The lunch menu is not geared towards business settings, but more towards a leisurely lunch for elegant ladies, with prices above 1500 yen resembling a mini kaiseki meal. Since I didn't have time for such an elegant lunch, I ended up ordering the Joten Don. The bowl arrived with the lid gently floating on top, presenting a visually appealing dish. When I opened the lid, I found a generous serving of tempura: a single-fried conger eel, shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, pumpkin, eggplant, and shiso leaf. There was grated daikon radish in one corner. The broth was relatively light, and the rice was average. The conger eel tempura was delicious, but the batter was a bit too thick, making it slightly heavy towards the end. Overall, the tempura was not exceptional. The atmosphere in the restaurant was nice, but the spacious layout with small groups scattered around made it feel somewhat lonely. It felt like a slightly more luxurious family restaurant, especially with the tempura bowl.
