When it comes to Higashi-Kujō in Kyoto, it's like a little Korea town. If you're craving hormone dishes, this is the place to go. The grilled hormone skewers here at Hanasan are delicious no matter what you order. The seasoning is not too spicy. It's a must-visit restaurant. I may have had a bit too much to drink, so my bill ended up being over 5000 yen, but on average, it's around 4000 yen per person even if you're drinking alone.

I went for lunch on a regular day. I arrived a bit late so it was not crowded. The sign for "Kasu-jiru" caught my attention from the car, so I decided to go to the restaurant during lunchtime. At the entrance, there was a sign for "Horumon-yaki" and lunch menu options. Inside, there were counter seats and table seats. I ordered the Tonkatsu set with sauce, grated radish, and rice, with a normal portion of tea and a wet towel. There was a TV so I didn't get bored. The meal included rice, pickles, cold tofu, Kasu-jiru, and Tonkatsu. I started with the Kasu-jiru, which had a nice dashi flavor and was easy to drink. I sprinkled some shichimi on top. The Tonkatsu was fried just right and the accompanying vegetables were good. The rice portion was satisfying. Next time, I will try the Horumon-yaki.

Everything I ate was delicious. I visited on a Sunday, so there were a few items that were out of stock, but I was still satisfied. I thought that because it was a hormone restaurant, the inside would be smoky, but it was not at all, so I realized that I didn't need to worry about my clothes. Personally, I prefer it over yakiniku. The owner managed the restaurant alone, and there were 4 groups of customers, but the orders were not delayed, so we could eat slowly, which was nice. I will definitely go again.

The meat is the best.
