The parking lot is located behind the shop and the road is quite narrow, so it is recommended to scout the area beforehand. Most people end up parking at the ¥300/60-minute street parking in front of the shop. There are table seats in the front and tatami rooms in the back, resembling a bed for eels. The staff is accommodating when you express your preferences. The head chef fell ill and took a break, causing concern, but it's reassuring to see everything back to normal. However, the menu has become smaller. In the tatami room, there is a rotating table like in a Chinese restaurant, which is also nice. We ordered a variety of dishes for four people, including spicy chicken, braised pork, chive stir-fry, chicken noodles, fried rice, oyster sauce with oysters, and meat dumplings, which filled us up. The bill came to ¥9500, but the portions were generous and the ingredients were fresh. The dishes kept coming out one after another, providing a satisfying experience of "urban Chinese cuisine." The chive stir-fry was unexpectedly spicy, perhaps due to the oyster sauce. The taste is unique and can only be found here. Overall, the food, portion size, and price were all satisfying. Lunch portions are also large, and women may not be able to finish it all, so taking leftovers home is common. You can also order a half-size portion for lunch. Occasionally, there may be a menu item that is not as good. The tables can be a bit sticky, the building has a historical charm, and the friendly staff chat with locals, creating a different atmosphere from what you might expect from a Chinese restaurant based on the dinner menu prices. They efficiently pack up the leftovers, serve a complimentary egg soup, have a cheerful head chef, give jelly to kids, provide quick service, and offer satisfying portions and flavors. If you come expecting urban Chinese cuisine, this place might not be exactly what you had in mind. The prices are a bit high at night, but considering the value for money, it's worth it in my opinion. As part of a combination plan, I recommend getting cheesecake souvenirs from Swiss confectionery Lône, which is within a 5-minute walk of the Emperor's mausoleum, Bishamon-do, and Rakuto.
