Located a 3-minute walk from Karasuma Station, I visited this coffee shop in search of delicious coffee. I tried the Flat White Brazil for only 600 yen and the Original Dope Blend for 790 yen per 100g. The blend consists of beans from Brazil, Colombia, and Honduras, roasted to a full city roast (slightly dark roast). There were many bean options to choose from, but I decided on the Brazil for its depth and richness, yet easy drinkability. It was delicious, so I also purchased some beans. I had a hard time deciding, but this time I went with the blend. I tried it right away and it also suited my taste. This shop offers a variety of high-quality coffees, and I would like to visit again to buy different beans.

I wanted to drink coffee so I searched on Google Maps and found this place! It had a high rating so I decided to go check it out. The shop is on the 3rd floor, so be careful not to pass it if you're looking at your phone haha. Many people who posted on Tabelog recommended the Coffee Jelly & Cafe au Lait, which looked good. But since I was craving coffee, I ordered the Specialty Blend for 450 yen. There are various types of Specialty Coffees available as singles, so I went with the blend since I didn't have much time to decide. Inside the shop, there was a bench for 2 people to sit and wait for takeout. There were also tables covered with transparent glass on the other side, but it seemed like they were not for use. It might be a takeout-only place. The coffee I had was a blend and I personally felt that it had a strong acidity. It might be better to drink it quickly as the acidity gets stronger as it cools down. Well, since it's a blend, the contents may change depending on the month, so it might have just been this time. Thank you for the meal.

I finally visited a shop I had been curious about. The shop is located on the 3rd floor of a building, and as soon as I climbed the stairs, I could see the shop! Although the menu was extensive, I ordered the coffee jelly & cafe au lait that I had been interested in. The bottle was cute, and even the transparent take-out bag was adorable! The cafe au lait itself was not very sweet, but the coffee jelly had just the right amount of sweetness and was delicious to drink. I would like to visit again when I am in the area!

Hidden Coffee Stand Kyoto seems to be quite a famous shop. It's located in an alley with a sign outside, but the inside looks like a stylish office building. As you go up the stairs to the 2nd floor, you'll find the shop with a chic black interior. They sell original coffee beans and it seems like a good place to buy small gifts. When you order a drink, they carefully grind the beans and make it fresh, so you can enjoy the wonderful aroma while you wait. Unfortunately, you can't sit and drink inside the shop, as it's takeout only, but you can use the restroom. Exploring the streets of Kyoto is fun, and finding interesting shops like this one for a quick drink break is a great experience!

On a regular weekday afternoon, around 3 o'clock, I found a coffee shop called Nobori. When I went up the stairs, I arrived at a house that looked like the Okuno residence. I could hear club music coming from further up the stairs. When I reached the top, there was an espresso machine, and that's where the shop was located! I had a little adventure finding it, but it was easier to locate than a ramen shop nearby. I wanted to take a break there, but it seemed like they weren't open today. There were some beans on a table that looked like a meeting room. Oh well, I'll just drink it while I walk. I decided to go with the bottled "Matcha Milk & Azuki" coffee jelly, which looked stylish. It was a bit sweet but refreshing. It was perfect for quenching my thirst quickly. It reminded me of a certain tapioca drink I had in Kyoto before, in terms of the bottled packaging. Anyway, I'm glad I could visit this place that I wanted to check out.

Visited for the first time around 4:09 pm on a Saturday in August 2021. "Coffee Base Kanondou" is a coffee stand located a little northwest of the Shijo-Karasuma intersection. I followed the sign at the entrance and walked through a corridor and up the stairs to the second floor, where the atmosphere suddenly changed and the shop was there. Luckily, I didn't have to wait as there was another customer leaving when I arrived, so I could order right away. This time, I tried the Coffee Jelly & Cafe au Lait in a bottle that I was curious about from everyone's posts: 650 yen (tax included). There were two round chairs where I waited for my order to be ready. After ordering, they carefully brewed the coffee, quickly cooled it with ice, poured it into a bottle with coffee jelly in a diagonal triangular shape, added milk, and it was complete! The visual of the "Coffee & Cafe au Lait" was very impressive. It comes in a transparent bag with a thick straw, making it convenient for takeout. After leaving the shop, I tried it immediately. The cafe au lait, a blend of freshly brewed coffee and milk, was of course good! And when combined with the coffee jelly, it was even better. With the heat, I was thirsty, so I finished it quickly. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

A popular coffee stand in Shijo Karasuma roasts specialty coffee beans using a hot air roaster, which are said to make up only the top 5% of the world's total circulation. The freshly roasted beans are used in many restaurants and cafes in Kyoto. Their second store, Coffee Base BnA, located on the second floor of BnA Alter Musium in Kawaramachi Takatsuji, is also popular. They offer a stylish Coffee Jelly (650 yen) to take out, with a bottle containing jelly at an angle, filled with a mix of drip-extracted coffee and plenty of milk for a trendy cafe au lait. It's a unique experience to crush the coffee jelly before enjoying it.

[2021.2.6 (First Visit)] ■About the Shop ✅ They roast coffee beans that are in the top 5% of global circulation, carefully drip each cup, and extract espresso. ✅ They sell roasted coffee beans by weight starting from 100g, and also deliver coffee to nearby offices. ✅ Coffee beans, drip packs, cookies, and more can be purchased online. ■Cafe au Lait with Coffee Jelly 600 yen (excluding tax) This is a unique drink where coffee and milk are combined in a bottle with coffee jelly, and then poured over. They use plenty of milk and the coffee is dripped slowly, making it easy to drink without bitterness. When you crush the coffee jelly with a straw, it adds a subtle sweetness that complements the cafe au lait. The innovative texture of the bouncy jelly with the cafe au lait was enjoyable and delicious. I'm interested in trying their other bottled drinks and the limited edition Banana x Espresso, so I'd like to visit again! ■Store Information Shop Name: Coffee Base KANONDO Address: 3F Miyako Building, 466 Kanondomachi, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City Access: 3 minutes walk from Hankyu Kyoto Line "Karasuma Station" Business Hours: Weekdays 11:00-18:00, Weekends and Holidays 11:00-18:00 Closed: No regular holidays Phone Number: 075-741-8718 Official Website: https://www.kanondo.coffee/ For more food and cafe reviews, visit the blog "Gourmet Yossy's Foodie Adventures" at https://gourmetyossy-blog.com/2021/02/coffeebase_kannondo/

Located at Karasuma Station in Kyoto, "Coffee Base KANONDO" is a takeout shop for bottled drinks. They offer a unique dessert drink where you crush coffee jelly and drink it. The store has a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional café, situated on the third floor of a building down a quaint alley. Look for the sign at the entrance to find it easily. The shop has a simple and stylish design with just a counter. They offer seasonal drinks like watermelon, but their specialty is coffee. I recommend trying their Coffee Jelly & Café Latte for 650 yen, made with a blend of Brazilian, Colombian, and Full City Roast beans. It has a balanced taste of bitterness and sweetness. The slightly sweet coffee jelly is mixed into the unsweetened café latte, creating a unique drinking experience. The café latte is not too sweet, making it perfect for coffee lovers. The aroma of coffee beans in the shop is also delightful.

If you are a coffee enthusiast, you should check out this shop in Kyoto where they have just started selling cookies. The shop is located on the 3rd floor and you can already smell the delicious coffee aroma from the staircase. The new cookies available are: Almond - made with plenty of almonds roasted in the shop, Matcha - slightly bitter but addictive, Bamboo Charcoal - pitch black with detoxifying effects. I also tried a Banana Espresso, which was a banana juice with espresso, and it was delicious. The shop really knows how to come up with interesting things.

I heard about a stylish bottled cafe latte and decided to stop by before work. Located near Shijo-Karasuma, just a short walk from my favorite cafe latte spot, this place is tucked away in a back alley. As I entered through the narrow entrance with a Kyoto-like charm and climbed down the low staircase, I was suddenly greeted by a trendy space. When I ordered the coffee jelly, the process began with extracting the coffee. It was quite authentic! Ice was put into the cup, hot water was poured in, the cup was swirled to cool it down, and the process was repeated. The waiting time made me forget about the daily hustle and bustle, and it was quite soothing. At this point, I already felt like coming back again. Freshly brewed coffee was poured into the bottle. When milk was added, it created a marble-like pattern in an instant! The contrast between the coffee jelly that was originally solidified in the bottle and the two colors was lovely. I was also impressed by the skillful technique. The taste was like cafe latte, but I could still feel the depth of the coffee, making me curious to try just the coffee next time. Inserting a straw into the bottle and slurping up the coffee jelly was fun and entertaining. Since it was in a bottle, I could easily take it to work without worrying about spills and enjoyed it during my work break. I can't wait to go back for another soothing experience.

I went to a popular hidden coffee stand in a quiet alley in Kyoto after seeing photos that my friends had taken. It was really hard to find (lol). I looked at the map and went there, but I passed by the front of the shop 2-3 times without noticing it. There was a small, inconspicuous sign in front of what looked like a house in a narrow alley typical of Kyoto, not quite like a machiya cafe. When you enter the entrance, there are stairs leading to the second floor. The atmosphere is really nice and stylish. When you go up to the second floor, you'll find the coffee stand right in front of you. It's a really simple shop with just a counter. There are various types of coffee beans lined up, and it's a simple but stylish stand. The purpose of my visit was to try their bottled drinks. There are several types available, and I was curious about the seasonal limited watermelon jelly drink, but since it's a coffee stand, I chose the iced coffee with coffee jelly. They make it by dripping it on the spot, then transferring it to a bottle with coffee jelly. It really looks great (lol). The way to drink it is to use a thick straw, like the one used for tapioca drinks, to crush the coffee jelly while drinking. It's a new sensation. The cafe au lait is sugar-free, so it's slightly bitter. The coffee jelly is slightly sweet, so it's nice to mix them together. Bitter cafe au lait goes well with coffee jelly. Since it has a lid, it's really stylish to drink while exploring Kyoto, and it's sure to attract attention. It's perfect for SNS-loving girls (lol). I highly recommend it. Thank you for the treat! ✨ Specializing in specialty coffee, the taste is also authentic. ☕️

Today, I went to Kyoto for the first time in a while~ The state of emergency has been lifted in Osaka little by little, but Kyoto has been a bit slow to open up~ Despite that, I really wanted to visit Kyoto... Now that things have calmed down a bit, should I go? Yes!! Let's go~♪( ´θ`)ノ The first place I visited was Coffee Base. This place is takeout only. As I entered, I saw a regular house sign... a bit confusing, haha (^^;; I climbed the stairs and saw the staff behind the counter. It was really stylish and chic! I let my friend order because I couldn't quite understand the menu (#^.^#) My friend ordered a drip coffee with milk, poured it into a cute bottle, and then poured cafe au lait on top. Oh, but it didn't mix? The bottle already had coffee jelly inside! After pouring the cafe au lait, we closed the cap and it was done✨ It was a really lovely cafe au lait! Perfect for strolling around Kyoto with this stylish bottle coffee in hand. We left the shop with a smile. The cafe au lait was unsweetened, and you mix it with the coffee jelly while drinking it. The combination of the bitter coffee and the sweet jelly was so enjoyable♪ It was an incredibly stylish bottle coffee, perfect for a solo trip to Kyoto! I wouldn't have found this place if my friend hadn't taken me there. Thank you so much✨ And thank you for the delicious coffee✴️✴️✴️

This year, the Gion Festival's rituals and events have been canceled, but during the Gion Festival season, the area around Kannondo-cho was bustling. I came across a stylish coffee stand called "CoffeeBaseKANONDO" after climbing the stairs to the third floor of what looked like an old traditional house. The aroma of coffee beans filled the air, and it is a takeout shop. I tried their new bottled drink: - Cafe au lait & Coffee Jelly: They use their original dark blend coffee, slightly roasted. At the bottom, there is well-placed coffee jelly in a triangular shape. On top of that, plenty of milk is poured, followed by the coffee. I got it as a takeout with a friend, and we enjoyed it while walking through the alleyways of Kyoto, imagining the Gion Festival. The harmony of the authentic coffee, milk, and coffee jelly creates a new sensation in coffee drinks. The sweetness of the coffee jelly complements the rich coffee and milk flavors well. It was delicious. The only downside is that the location is a bit hard to find, but it's a place I would like to visit again. Drinking a stylish drink made me feel like a fashionable old lady (⋈◍>◡<◍)✧♡ "CoffeeBaseKANONDO" 466 Kannondo-cho, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture Miya Building 3F 075-741-8718

Trendy Cafe Au Lait and Coffee Jelly to go. Located near Karasuma Station. A coffee shop in such a place? When you climb the stairs, you'll find a stylish and well-kept interior. The coffee specialist master carefully drips the coffee. Wow, the professionalism is amazing. A stylish bottle with the shop's name on it. At the bottom right, there is coffee jelly, and they pour coffee and milk on top of it. The color change as they pour is very beautiful. I hesitated a bit to put in the straw, but when I did, the jelly inside was delicious. A convenient bottle to carry around, perfect for sightseeing in Kyoto. Everyone, please try "Beyond the Coffee"!

【Shop Overview】A hidden coffee stand on the second floor of a narrow alley. The only downside is that the location is a bit hard to find.【Impression】I tried the limited-time jelly and drink they were offering, which was cherry blossom jelly and sweet sake milk. The cherry blossom flavor was distinct, and the sweet sake milk had a subtle sweet sake aroma. I usually don't like sweet sake, but it was easy to drink, and I finished it all.

When I went to Daimaru, I walked a little and found a sign, then went up the stairs to order takeout bottled drinks. I chose Matcha Milk & Red Bean (602 yen) and Strawberry Milk (602 yen). I enjoyed them in the car on the way back. Both were sweet and had a taste that I really liked.

After enjoying sushi, I visited a self-roasting coffee shop that had caught my eye for a while. The entrance looked like a private house, so it might be easy to overlook the shop. When I climbed the stairs to the 3rd floor, I found the shop. The interior was stylish in a wooden building. You can enjoy coffee on the spot or take it to go. They even had a unique roasting machine that fit the atmosphere of the shop perfectly. I found it interesting that they offer a subscription membership where you can drink unlimited coffee for a fixed price (monthly, excluding tax 7,500 yen). I ordered a takeout specialty coffee latte (price including tax 594 yen) and was impressed by the design of the package that revealed a logo when exposed to light. I enjoyed this slightly luxurious coffee, and I would like to try their iced coffee next time. Thank you for the meal. Located in the Uramachi area of Karasuma, this coffee shop is a bit hidden away on the third floor. It is actually a branch of AOI COFFEE, originally from Kitayama. They now have a second branch in Gion and are known for their delicious drip coffee, flat white, and amazing amazake latte. The staff are friendly and easy to talk to, making for a pleasant experience. Highly recommended!
