This is my second time using the delivery service from Hachidoriya, but my first review. This restaurant has a wide variety of original menu items (I couldn't capture all of them in the photos), and they also have a great selection of alcoholic beverages. For starters, I ordered a draft beer with zuri kawa ponzu, as well as Kappa's fried chicken and grilled chicken cartilage. The zuri kawa ponzu and beer from the speed menu arrived first. The zuri kawa ponzu was a bit tough, with a strong chewy texture and mainly tasted like the ponzu sauce and spices. The customers on my left and right seemed like regulars, as when one ordered "twisted chicken," the other also ordered the same, and they were both eating hot pot dishes. The grilled chicken cartilage arrived next, quite charred. The V-shaped cartilage was hard to hold, so I ate it with my hands. It was difficult to eat, and the burnt smell was noticeable. The taste was firm though. Next, the fried chicken from Kappa arrived, which had a good balance with the oil, giving it a light yet substantial juiciness. The man on my right ordered a rolled omelette, and then the person on my left followed suit, ordering two rolled omelettes. Despite not finding it on the menu, I also ordered the rolled omelette, and three arrived. The bright yellow color of the rolled omelette was striking, with minimal unevenness and a seemingly careful preparation. It may not have been as rich and bouncy as a dish made by a Japanese cuisine chef, but it was light and satisfying to snack on. After three beers, it's time to call it a day. I look forward to having hot pot next time.

This is a izakaya located near Kintetsu Toji Station. The menu mainly focuses on chicken dishes, including grilled and fried items. The prices range from 300 to 400 yen per dish, making it affordable for students and salarymen alike. We ordered the following dishes for three people, which turned out to be quite a generous portion for less than 3,000 yen including drinks. The accommodation was near Toji Station, so I decided to stop by a restaurant behind the station where there were quite a few customers and the cost performance seemed good. There was no appetizer, so I ordered a beer first. As a substitute for an appetizer, I ordered potato salad (380 yen). The potato salad was a bit different from what I had imagined, with a salty mayonnaise-like taste and strong spices. It was perfect with alcohol, but as a snack, it was a bit... The next dish I ordered was chicken Karaage with ponzu sauce. The Karaage is said to be a specialty, and for 380 yen, it was quite voluminous. The daikon radish and ponzu sauce matched well with the Karaage and it was delicious! Feeling good, I ordered the assorted yakitori set (650 yen). Unfortunately, although it looked nice, the taste was quite ordinary. Well, I guess it can't be helped since it's not a specialty store.

I visited this shop for the first time! I had been curious about it since it opened. Finally, I got to go. The menu is very extensive, and there were also daily specials. I enjoyed the food. It was delicious. It was nice to have oolong tea available.

The portions are on the smaller side, but the seasoning is good and the prices are reasonable. When it gets crowded, the atmosphere is lively. In the evening, I ran into an old acquaintance at the sports gym and we decided to go out for drinks. We went to a recommended izakaya called "Chidoriya" near Kintetsu Higashidera Station. All items at this izakaya are priced at 280 yen, making it a very affordable place. The restaurant was bustling with many customers. We enjoyed dishes like salted hotaruika (firefly squid) and tsukudani (simmered dish) as our drinking snacks. Each dish had just the right amount for nibbling. It's definitely a place for drinking sake! They had a variety of sake to choose from, and we asked the staff for a sake that was easy to drink. The atmosphere inside was a bit noisy, but that added to the fun of our drinking session. We were able to drink plenty without breaking the bank thanks to the wallet-friendly bill. The price of 280 yen per dish is a great deal. I would love to visit this place again!

In particular, the "Mountain" fried chicken comes piled high on the plate just like its name suggests. And the drinks are also 290 yen! For beer drinkers, a draft beer at this price is a great deal! There are other menu items besides the 290 yen ones, but they are mostly under 500 yen, so it's affordable. They also offer chicken sashimi and yukhoe, using carefully selected chicken raised in the morning. The grilled skewers are cooked over charcoal. Not only are they cheap, but they also pay attention to the taste, which was delicious. In addition to chicken dishes, there are also fish dishes available. They offer traditional croquettes, red sausages, and other unique items for a fun dining experience. Furthermore, they have a wide selection of sake, including a unique sake called "Sabadeshu" made specifically for mackerel. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also great, making it a very satisfying dining experience.

Today, I decided to try takeout from a izakaya near Tofukuji Station in Minami Ward, Kyoto City. ■ Chidoriya Tofukuji Store This izakaya follows a low-price strategy with all items priced at 298 yen. Due to the state of emergency, they were only selling takeout, with the entrance blocked by tables. They offer various dishes centered around chicken, such as Tori Tatsuta Mountain and Oyakata Yaki. I remember feeling the great value and satisfying taste when I visited before. I called ahead to order a bento box and picked it up. In addition to the bento box, I also purchased some side dishes, all priced at 298 yen each. The bento box was packed full of chicken karaage, so much so that the lid couldn't close, giving it a substantial weight. The bento box also included instant miso soup and furikake, all for a surprising price of 550 yen. Now, let's dig in. - Tori Tatsuta Mountain Bento: The chicken karaage was crispy and flavorful, with a generous portion of 6 pieces. The garlic seasoning made it a perfect match for rice or beer. The variety of side dishes was plentiful, and the karaage was delicious. - Tori Tamagoyaki: Upon opening the package, a pleasant aroma of seaweed and sauce wafted out. The tamagoyaki was filled with plenty of chicken, grilled to a crispy perfection. It was surprisingly filling and paired well with the seaweed. For these two takeout items, the total came to just under 900 yen. The cost-effectiveness was so good that I started to worry if the restaurant was doing okay. I look forward to visiting this izakaya for drinks after the pandemic.
