Maruta-cho Station, Maeda Coffee in Hotel NOX Kyoto. I only intended to have a drink, but just before coming here, I was turned away by a certain tart shop (due to an incredibly long line), and when I looked at the menu here, lo and behold, they had tarts (lol). I ordered a blueberry tart and an iced coffee (lol) (I know, I was already full, but oh well, I can leave here today without any regrets) 😂

Today, I took care of some errands and had lunch nearby at NOKUCAFE located in Hotel Noku Kyoto. I have posted the details on my Ameblo blog, so please check it out here: [link]. I have just started, but I plan to transition my posts to this Ameblo blog from now on, so please follow along. NOKUCAFE is operated by Maeda Coffee. It's usually relatively easy to get a table, but today it was busy with many reservations. I ordered the lunch set, which includes a panini plate and iced tea for 1200 yen. The plate consists of an omelette, ratatouille, panini, and a mini salad. The omelette was fluffy and delicious, and the ratatouille had various beans and vegetables, which was great. The panini bread was crispy. The carrot dressing from Maeda Coffee's salad is a unique taste that I can only find here, making me want to come back for more. This one plate meal is convenient for when you're not feeling too hungry in the heat. I recommend this place to those who love cafes. Be sure to stop by and check it out! ദ്ദി ˃ ᵕ ˂ ) ===========

Near the station, on the first floor of Noku Kyoto hotel, there is Maeda Coffee. Despite its great location, it is surprisingly empty most of the time except for a brief peak period, making it very convenient to use. The restroom is clean and Western-style, highly recommended. On a holiday afternoon around 2 PM, the restaurant was about 80% full. I stayed until closing time, but after 3 PM, empty seats became noticeable. [What I had] Iced coffee for ¥580 was quite strong and bold in flavor. I usually prefer black coffee, but this one was a bit too strong for my taste. I really like Maeda Coffee's AIMI (sweetened milk tea), but unfortunately, they don't seem to have it here. It may not be worth coming here specifically for this place, but it's a great atmosphere for studying or working, and it's so convenient being empty. I have a limit of three reviews per restaurant, so this will be my last review. However, I will continue to use this place for my daily needs. Thank you for the meal!

One of the representative cafes in Kyoto, operated by Maeda Coffee, is a hotel cafe. It is conveniently located near the station, clean, and easy to use. It seems like you can find a seat if you wait a little during lunchtime when it gets crowded. Around 11 am on weekdays, the store was about half full. By noon, it was fully packed.
[What I ate]
Cream mentaiko spaghetti ¥1140
Drink set ¥250
I was surprised by the generous portion. I overheard a neighboring customer apologizing to the staff for leaving food uneaten when I visited before, so maybe that's the norm... (^_^;)
Honestly, the taste was neither good nor bad. I suspect the noodles were slightly overcooked. Therefore, I have lowered my rating from my previous visit. (I'm sorry)
However, I was satisfied to spend a relaxing time for just over a thousand yen. The restroom is also clean and Western-style as it is located inside the hotel. It's not the kind of place you would go out of your way to visit, but it's a convenient and nice place to use. Therefore, I will visit again. Thank you for the meal!

This is Maeda Coffee Shop located on the first floor of Hotel NOKU. I visited during lunchtime and had the lunch set chicken curry. It came with a mini salad, the main curry, and a drink. It might be easy for a hungry man to finish, but it was too much for me and I couldn't even finish the salad (crying). I should have just ordered the curry on its own. The curry had a flavor that I really liked and was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

One of the representative coffee shops in Kyoto, Maeda Coffee, produces it. "Noku Kyoto" is located on the first floor of a business hotel, but can be used even if you are not staying. It's convenient as it's right in front of the station! Around 11:30 on weekdays, the inside of the store was about half full. The seating spacing is wide, so you can relax. [What I ate] Canele ¥340 Iced tea ¥580 There are only 20 canele available per day! I was able to catch a few with just a few left. However, the crispy texture was a bit lacking. It was delicious but not quite to my taste. The iced tea was very ordinary. There were also people who seemed to be working, and it was nice to be able to stay for a long time. There is a wide variety of meal and snack menus, making it very convenient. Also, the restroom is Western-style and clean! I love coffee shops in Kyoto, but old Japanese-style restrooms are often found... I can't tolerate that, so this shop is a lifesaver. Thank you for the meal!

I visited around 2 p.m. after finishing my business at Tomosha University and paying my respects at Goo Shrine. The restaurant is located on the first floor of a hotel, which makes it a bit hard to find, but the atmosphere is nice. I'm not sure if there is a parking lot, maybe it's shared with the hotel? The restaurant is divided into two parts, with one side facing the street and visible from outside. The red miso Hayashi rice had a rich flavor and was delicious. The rice was soft and the portion was generous. The curry sauce was also plentiful and satisfying. The cafe latte had a taste that I liked.

The atmosphere is relaxed and elegant, with polite customer service. I visited for lunch and had a hard time choosing from the wide variety of lunch menu options. There were 4-5 types of spaghetti to choose from, as well as hot sandwiches, open sandwiches, panini sets, curry, hash beef, etc. Each lunch set comes with salad and a drink. I chose the Genovese and hot sandwich. Regardless of the choice, the lunch set is ¥1,200. The portions were generous, the food was freshly made, and the taste was excellent. Highly satisfied.

I visited around 11 o'clock and the restaurant was almost full. I had the lunch set of red miso omurice hayashi and hot milk tea. The red miso made the hayashi rice very mellow and it went well with the white rice. The meat, tomato, onion, mushrooms, and other ingredients were all in large pieces and there was plenty of them. The egg was half-cooked. A mini salad comes with the set. It's easy to visit because it's right near Marutamachi Station.

This is my second visit. After visiting Goo Shrine, I decided to have lunch at noku CAFE by MAEDA'S COFFEE on the way back. The restaurant was not too crowded, so we were able to find seats easily. Since it was Sunday, we opted for the drink set where you can add a drink for only 200 yen. There were 12 drink options to choose from, which was quite affordable. I ordered coffee with homemade chicken curry for 980 yen, while my companion chose tea with bacon cream spaghetti for the same price. The homemade chicken curry was packed with vegetables and had just the right amount of spice, which I really enjoyed. The bacon spaghetti was served with chicken soup and included bacon, bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms. The coffee after the meal was, needless to say, delicious.

This is a café located inside the hotel where I stayed. This time, I had a breakfast plan included, so I used it for the morning. The breakfast here is semi-buffet style. You can choose the main plate from several options that are brought to you, but drinks, fruits, and yogurt are self-served from the buffet. My husband chose a set with fried egg, toast, and croissant, while I opted for a panini set. The buffet drink corner had hot coffee, orange juice, milk, etc. The drinks, fruits, salad, and soup were all average. However, the pastries were not to our liking. The croissant was not buttery and flaky as we prefer, so we left it uneaten. The toast was thinly sliced and lacked wheat flavor. The panini, which we enjoyed at Maeda Coffee in Kodai-ji Temple, had a different impression here. Overall, the breakfast experience was disappointing. Not sure if it was due to the bread's storage conditions or reheating method, but compared to our positive experience at the Kodai-ji Temple branch two weeks ago, this one fell short.

I visited this restaurant for lunch during the festival. It is located inside Hotel Noku Kyoto, so the interior is quite elegant. They have a wide variety of lunch menu options, and I enjoyed a hearty meal. The staff were polite and the service was relatively quick. I love omurice...

If you stay in Kyoto, you can have breakfast at Shimomae Coffee. The Japanese set meal comes with plenty of side dishes and a drink bar. Enjoying breakfast while looking at Karasuma Street in the quiet shop is a very luxurious time. The rice was delicious and overall I was very satisfied with the meal.

I visited for breakfast and ordered the Special Toast Morning set. The scrambled eggs were delicious. The grilled tomato was also very tasty. I was happy that drinks were free refills! The coffee was delicious, I ended up having multiple cups.

In a cafe on the ground floor of an expensive hotel, I blended in with the guests and had breakfast. Sausages, bacon, baked beans, fluffy buttered bread, and a Kyoto-style English atmosphere. The drink is free. If you just order coffee, they will brew it separately. The buffet coffee is also of good quality. It's hard to find this kind of experience in Tokyo. It's so exciting!

After visiting Gokoku Shrine, I planned to walk down Karasuma Street towards the south to Sanjo and have lunch at Maeda Coffee Main Store. However, I came across noku CAFE by MAEDA'S COFFEE in front of a building on the west side of Marutamachi after crossing the street. It was located on the 1st floor of Hotel Noku Kyoto. It was still before 11 am, and they mentioned that I could have a meal even before the official lunchtime. I ordered the Red Miso Omurice (1000 yen) and my wife ordered the famous Neapolitan Spaghetti (930 yen). Just before 11 am, the attentive staff informed us that it was lunchtime and brought us a salad to go with our orders, changing them into lunch sets. The lunch set came with salad and a drink for 1050 yen, which was a great deal and made us feel good. The lunch was delicious. After the meal, we enjoyed a tasty cup of coffee (Ryunosuke). I really love Maeda Coffee's coffee. I will definitely visit again.

After lunch, my friends and I headed to a cafe to continue our conversation. It's located on the corner of Karasuma Marutamachi intersection, on the 1st floor of Hotel NOX Kyoto. It has a lounge-like atmosphere with spacious seating, making it suitable for small groups like ours. The coffee served is from Maeda Coffee, offering four blends: 1) Ryunosuke - 530 yen, a light roast with a strong aroma, 2) Tomihisa - 690 yen, a medium roast with a rich flavor, 3) Benkei - 900 yen, a Mocha medium roast with a strong aroma and bitterness, and 4) Ushiwakamaru - 690 yen, the darkest roast with low acidity from Brazil. I chose Ushiwakamaru, which had a smooth and mild taste. The cafe wasn't too crowded, and we enjoyed our stay thanks to the cozy atmosphere.

I visited around 8:30 on a regular day and finished my meal at 9:50. I had the Special Morning set for 1200 yen. I have had it a few times before, and it's quite a large portion for breakfast. It fills me up completely! If you have plans to eat lunch at a nice place, you might feel like it's a waste if you're not hungry by then.

Went to Kyoto with my wife for a little break. Arrived at the restaurant at 16:15 and had to wait outside (three groups ahead of us). Finally seated and ordered at 16:30, and our desserts arrived at 16:40.
Summary:
Kyoto-style mochi cake for 500 yen. It was about 50x50mm in size and 35mm thick, with sponge cake, matcha mousse, matcha jelly, and whipped cream. The textures were all soft and smooth, and the matcha flavor was subtly bitter, balancing out the sweetness of the cream and mochi.
Milk tea for 500 yen (added to the cake set for an extra 50 yen) - details omitted.
Bordeaux-style canelé for 280 yen. It was about 30mm in diameter and 35mm tall, with a crispy outer layer and a moist, custard-like inside. It had a hint of herbal liqueur, giving it a refreshing sweetness that felt nourishing. The taste made me think of a treat born in a monastery.

I visited around 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. The seats were half full, possibly with hotel guests. Unlike Inoda Coffee, there was no line, which was nice. The Special Morning set at Noku Cafe operated by Maeda Coffee costs 1200 yen. You can use it even if you're not staying at the hotel. I enjoyed it last time, so I came back for more. The ham and sausage were high quality, the toast and butter were delicious, and even though the coffee wasn't freshly brewed, I was still very satisfied with the morning set. The baked tomato had a nice baked flavor compared to last time.
