In Kyoto, there were two main purposes for the visit. However, there wasn't much time for shopping, so upon arrival in the morning, the usual items were purchased at Daimaru, followed by a visit to Nishiki Market and the must-visit Murakami Kaishindo. Souvenirs were bought first as I prefer to travel light and have items sent home, so there was some time before the lunch reservation, about 25 minutes. I thought I could walk leisurely in about 10 minutes, but then I passed by the Starbucks BAL that I had seen in a magazine, and thought, maybe I could stop by for about 10 minutes... So I did (laughs). The Starbucks in Kyoto BAL was directed by the artist group "SANDWICH" led by Akihiro Nagawa, exhibiting over 80 unique works by young Japanese artists. The tables and chairs were deliberately mismatched. They also had Ron Herman and Officine Universelle Buly, showcasing the forefront of fashion and lifestyle in Kyoto BAL. I had always wanted to visit Officine Universelle Buly because it felt very Kyoto-like. In Tokyo, it was a day of typhoon-like rainstorms. But when I arrived in Kyoto, it was sunny and hot, so I enjoyed a Cold Brew Lime. It was my first time trying it, but it was really to my taste! It was delicious and I felt like I could drink it all at once. However, I wanted to take photos, so I just took a sip and focused on taking pictures, even though my stay was short (laughs). It was quite interesting, this Starbucks. I wish I could have stayed longer to explore! With just under 10 minutes of stay, I even encountered the stylish leader from Kobe, and then hurried to the lunch spot... On the way, I saw the Traveling Coffee that I had been curious about before, so I took a commemorative photo – "Ah, this is the place," (laughs).
