◆Visit Date Information on Tabelog 3.80 Top 100 Restaurants 2023-2022 2020-2019◆About the RestaurantThis is a patisserie favored by the locals in Shirokanimachi, offering cakes, Gateau Basque, financiers, and other Western sweets. Located in a residential area, the nearest station is Shirokane Takanawa Station, but with some effort, you can also visit from Tamachi Station or Azabu-Juban Station using a shared bicycle.◆ImpressionsThe interior and exterior atmosphere of the shop exude a French vibe, fitting for Shirokane. It is a small shop, so depending on the time of visit, there may be a line, but when I visited around 3 pm on a weekend, I was able to purchase without waiting. The Gateau Basque was decent, but the cakes were extremely delicious. The size is not very big, and the price is modest considering the deliciousness and Shirokane's reputation, which I found very pleasing. I definitely want to visit again. Since the cakes are on the smaller side, you can easily eat about two by yourself. It's a patisserie that I liked so much that I want to try all the varieties.◆Items Tried (Desserts Only)✔︎✔︎Gateau Basque 550 yenTraditional confection, delicious✔︎✔︎✔︎Mathilde 630 yenLime and raspberry jelly, white chocolate cake with an excellent combination and extremely delicious taste. Each ingredient is top-notch, making it exceptionally delicious. Highly recommended, especially during hot weather.✔︎✔︎✔︎Caribbean Banana 640 yenChocolate banana-like flavor, with just one bite, I was convinced of its high quality as a cake. If you want a sophisticated chocolate banana rather than a simple one, be sure to try this!◆Notes◆Remarks※The Michelin and Top 100 rankings may include information from past periods.※Prices include tax.⭐️Rating Criteria⭐️3 or below: Satisfied with just one visit⭐️3.5: Recommended, delicious or decent⭐️4: Very delicious, recommended (would recommend to friends)⭐️4.5: Ecstasy, would visit frequently, highly recommended (confidently recommend even to food connoisseurs)⭐️5: Ultimate ecstasy, would visit for a lifetime, highly, highly recommended (recommend to all)※Ratings are carefully considered to the first decimal place. A score of 4.0 or higher is given when impressed, based on satisfaction with the price. (Self-introduction)◆I visit approximately 700 eateries nationwide each year, mainly in Aichi, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Fukuoka. I explore various restaurants while young, discovering places that I would like to visit for a lifetime and revisit. The total number of eateries visited exceeds 5,000.◆I review with the hope that my followers can enjoy delicious meals at the restaurants they visit after seeing my posts. I place the highest emphasis on satisfaction with the amount paid.◆I value the reliability and objectivity of the content I provide, and I strive to include meal prices as a rule.◆To the restaurant staff, thank you for providing opportunities to enjoy delicious food and experiences that leave an impact amidst the challenging environment of COVID-19 and rising ingredient prices.

When I left Shinagawa Station and took a short walk to explore, I happened to come across this cake shop, and it was the most delicious sweet treat I've had in a while. It was so good that I couldn't stop thinking about it. It would definitely make a great gift, and it would be a hit at a home party too. It's really delicious, so be sure to try it out. [Date]: 9/19 [Time]: 12:00 [Reservations/Crowdedness]: About 2 groups [Menu]: - Basque-style Chocolate Gateau (550 yen): As you can see from the photo, it's quite large and has a substantial weight. The outside is moist and not dry at all. It's sweet but also has a cocoa flavor, not overly sweet. The inside is like a moist chocolate cake (similar to the filling of a fondant au chocolat). - Basque-style Gateau: This one has a custard filling. The custard is rich in egg yolk and vanilla essence, not just sweetness from sugar. It's like a very rich custard bread. Bon appétit!

I finished my business at a friend's office in Mita and then traveled to Shirokane Takanawa Station where there was a pastry shop I had wanted to visit for a while. The shop is located close to the station and is famous for its baked goods. The interior of the shop is small and the showcase is filled with cute cakes. I bought the "Gateau Basque" and the "Gateau Basque au Chocolat" that I had been looking for. The Gateau Basque has a crispy crust filled with plenty of cherry confiture, creating a delicious balance. The Gateau Basque au Chocolat has a chocolate-flavored crust filled with chocolate cream, making it a sophisticated dessert. The surface is nicely browned with a glossy finish. It reminded me of the traditional pastries I used to see in Europe a long time ago. I would definitely like to visit this shop again.

I had some errands to run and happened to pass by Maison Dandoy, where I spotted a croissant still available. I hoped it would still be there when I returned, and sure enough, after finishing my errands, I went back to purchase it. It was around 2:30 PM on the weekend, with 2 groups of customers ahead of me, and the shop was crowded with 5 people inside. The croissant was priced at ¥280, the Gateau Basque at ¥550, and the Sablé Brûlant at ¥300. The croissant was slightly smaller in size but beautifully shaped. Its appearance alone seemed to promise deliciousness. As it was a humid day, I hurried home and quickly warmed it up a bit. The croissant was exactly as I had hoped - crispy on the outside, with a delightful buttery aroma. Each bite revealed the meticulous layers of pastry, not too greasy or too sweet. It was a perfectly crafted croissant. The Gateau Basque was also excellent, with a perfect combination of crispiness and fluffiness, showcasing a depth of flavor with spiced dark cherries, a sophisticated treat. The Sablé Brûlant, on the other hand, was unexpectedly sweet, reminiscent of a nostalgic, sugary cookie. It was delicious nonetheless. Overall, Maison Dandoy lived up to its reputation as a high-quality establishment, providing a blissful tea time experience. Personally, I prefer their cakes over baked goods, especially their chocolate cake left a lasting impression on me. I look forward to returning to seek more moments of culinary delight. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

- Order Belvask 600 yen - Mille-feuille 600 yen - Access: About a 3-minute walk from Shirokane Takanawa Station. Located in a residential area. - Waiting Information/Reservation Information: If it's a weekday, there is still a decent selection available even in the evening. - Additional Information: The shop has a stylish patisserie vibe both on the exterior and interior. - Belvask: A chocolate sponge cake with chocolate mousse for a sophisticated taste. Nuts and citrus flavors add a nice accent. - Mille-feuille: The most popular item. Crispy pastry and sweet custard cream. - Lastly, Gâteau Basque is a specialty, so I definitely want to try it next time. #Sweets #Tabelog #Maison Dandy #Top100 #Moku Log

I visited after hearing that the baked goods were delicious. It's a bit of a walk from the station, but it's worth it. As soon as I entered the store, the pleasant smell of butter from the baked goods filled the air, lifting my spirits. The Gâteau Basque I tried for the first time was exquisite, and since it lasts for about 3 days, I want to stock up on my next visit.

In the evening, as I passed by the shop, I noticed that there were still plenty of varieties left in the showcase, so I couldn't help but go in. Caramel Cafe had a first bite that spread the bittersweetness of caramel and coffee subtly, giving off a very adult-like impression! However, as I continued to eat, I found caramel nuts and madeleine chocolate inside, allowing me to enjoy the sweetness and indulge in a luxurious cake! The cookie on top also looked lovely and tasted delicious. It was a cake that sweet lovers would adore, as it allowed you to enjoy multiple sweets in one. Lady Grey was a visually stunning and cute cake. The tea panna cotta had a nice aroma that spread in the mouth, giving off an elegant atmosphere. Additionally, the white chocolate on top added sweetness to it!

On a rainy Sunday in August around 11 am, I visited a bakery where there was one group of customers ahead of me. It took a little while for the previous customer to be served, but I was at the front in about 6-7 minutes. This bakery is known for its Gateau Basque, so I decided to try all the varieties they had. I purchased Gateau Basque for 550 yen, Rouge for 570 yen, A La Creme for 550 yen, O Chocolat for 550 yen, and Financier for 350 yen, totaling 2570 yen including tax. I took them home and tried each one, and I must say, the Gateau Basque from this bakery is delicious. It's a baked treat with the most delicious cream I've ever tasted. That's why A La Creme was also very tasty, even without cherries. The Financier was also good, but the Gateau Basque is truly exceptional. This might be my favorite baked treat of all time.

I purchased the signature Gâteau Basque for ¥550 and Financier for ¥350 at a famous sweets shop. The compact interior of the shop had a beautiful display of cakes and various baked goods. Since it was a hot day and I had to carry them around for a while, I only bought the baked goods. They had a shelf life of 3 days, so I tried them on the third day and found them still moist. The Gâteau Basque had a balanced taste with black cherry jam inside. The Financier was simple yet delicious, allowing me to truly appreciate its flavor.

I found a highly rated pastry shop near Shirokanedai station, which was convenient for me as I didn't want to carry perishable sweets in the scorching heat. I decided to buy their signature pastry, the Gâteau Basque, a traditional pastry from the Basque region. I warmed it up lightly in the toaster oven at home. The pastry had a cookie-like crust that was crispy and delicious. The filling was not too sweet, allowing the cookie crust to shine. I would like to try their fresh pastries next time. The Gâteau Basque is made of a thick almond-infused cookie crust with a special type of black cherry and a decorative Basque cross design. I purchased the Gâteau Basque au Chocolat for 550 yen and the Gâteau Basque à la Crème for 550 yen. Overall, the pastries were not too sweet, had a crunchy texture, and were satisfying. The quality of the ingredients was evident, making it a good value for the price. I would recommend this specialty pastry shop near the station.

I had been curious about this shop for a while. It's located right near Takanawa station. I went in to buy a gift for a friend, but the buttery smell in the shop made me decide to get something for myself too. Their specialty, the Gateau Basque, is freshly baked every hour, so you can enjoy it almost right out of the oven. I ate it a few hours after buying it, and the cookie dough was still crispy with a subtle buttery aroma. I usually don't like jam-like fruit fillings, but I found the dark cherry confiture in the Gateau Basque to be delicious. The custard wasn't too sweet, and everything had a sophisticated taste. The cakes on display also looked very appetizing. They all seemed like great gifts, so I definitely want to visit this shop again.

I have been to this shop a few times, which is about an 8-minute walk from Shirokanetakanawa Station, and I purchased some baked goods as I was nearby. I tried the Gateau Basque (3.8), Gateau Basque Chocolat (3.5), Sablé Brûlée (3.5), and Financier (4.0). All of the baked goods were delicious, but I especially enjoyed the Financier for its aroma and texture. I would like to try their cakes next time.

Located very close to Shirokanedai, the shop has a sophisticated and beautiful design with a navy blue wall and glass windows in a white frame. Upon visiting, I noticed a variety of beautifully displayed cakes, and I wondered if the Gâteau Basque was a popular choice based on their website. The day after the announcement of the Sweets Hundred Best Stores 2023, I decided to visit this shop as my first stop on my long-awaited sweets tour. Despite the heat, I couldn't resist buying a "Goxoa" for ¥540 - a Spanish Basque classic dessert made with rich custard cream on top of white chocolate-flavored whipped cream. I also bought another dessert before taking a break at a transfer station. Unfortunately, the box got tilted during transport, and I was disappointed that I couldn't enjoy the desserts in their pristine condition due to the extreme heat. Nonetheless, the taste of the desserts managed to lift my spirits, and I was glad I made the purchase. It turns out that the Goxoa is a traditional Spanish treat, and it made me realize that there are still many delicious foods out there waiting to be discovered. After browsing through the chef's Instagram, I learned that they have experience working in Basque and Paris, showcasing their talents through beautiful photos and sharing their culinary journey. I am intrigued to try more of the chef's creations, including the Gâteau Basque, in the future.

Revisited Maison D'Arni in Shirokanedai, a sweets hotspot area. The pastry shop is known for its Basque cake, Gâteau Basque, and unique macarons. Unfortunately, the financier and sablé Breton were sold out, so I only bought the Gâteau Basque. When I tried it the next day, the texture was a bit soft, possibly due to the summer humidity. I had to reheat it to regain the original crispiness. It seems that reheating may be necessary for other pastries like the sablé Breton as well.

I happened to visit Isetan Shinjuku's Trend Sweets. All of the dishes had flavors and textures that I liked. I would like to visit the store in Shirokane someday. Taste: ★★★★★ Adorable Pistachio Cake - Good texture and delicious. ★★★★ Belle Basque Chocolate Cake - Rich but tasty. Both cakes have a good balance of mousse and chocolate. ★★★★ Gâteau Basque - Cherry jam inside. ★★★★★ Sablé Brûlée - The best cookie I've ever had, with a perfect balance of softness and crispiness. I can't tell the difference between cookies, biscuits, and sablés, but this Sablé Brûlée is the best I've ever had in those categories. Financier: ★★★★ Average cost performance: ★★★ Service: ★★★===

On the way to an event in Mita, I searched for something delicious like confectionery in this area where I don't usually visit. I came across this patisserie, Gâteau Basque, which is said to be delicious, so I ordered a set of 4. The taste is indescribably delicious, I feel like I could eat it every day. It seems that they are good for 3 days, so it's also great for bringing as a souvenir.

Sweets Top 100 Shop Tour. The traditional Basque baked good, Gateau Basque, is the flagship product. Gateau Basque comes in plain, chocolate, and red varieties. The cakes also looked delicious, but since I still had to carry them around, I decided to purchase the baked goods. A pastry chef came out from the back and provided excellent customer service. They were very friendly. What I purchased: - Gateau Basque (Red) - 3 Financiers They put them all together in a box for me. The Gateau Basque (Red) had a raspberry flavor and was delicious without being too sweet. The Financiers were also delicious, with plenty of butter. I'm glad I bought both, as they were of high quality.

Leaving aside the question of why it is held in hand, this shop that was temporarily set up at Isetan was apparently famous for its baked goods. When I visited, the baked goods were completely sold out. However, what I wanted to eat at that time was cake. I randomly chose two named Dulse and Bellevue, and they were delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. The price was also reasonable at around 600 yen, so I want to try other varieties next time. I want to visit the main store in Shirokane next time and purchase some baked goods along with it. Thank you, Isetan, for introducing me to this shop.
