There is a delicious kushikatsu restaurant called Yayoi at JR Kyoto Station in Kyoto Prefecture. The restaurant is very clean and the atmosphere is great. Today, I had the Kyoto course for 6,600 yen, which included a variety of kushikatsu skewers, side dishes, and a delightful dessert. The ingredients were fresh and everything was delicious, especially the large prawn skewer that surprised me. The matcha pudding for dessert was a highlight, especially with the mochi inside. The restaurant uses ingredients that reflect Kyoto's local flavors, making it a great choice for both locals and tourists. I also got a prawn katsu sandwich to go, which was also delicious. Overall, I was very satisfied with the food and service. Highly recommended!

Recently opened and tried their course menu. The portions were generous and I was very satisfied. The Emperor shrimp was especially large and impressive. At the end, they offered us two more dishes of our choice as a service, so we didn't hesitate to order a second one. It was a very enjoyable meal. Thank you.

This time, I had a job near Kyoto Station and used this restaurant for the after-party. The table seats on the second floor felt like semi-private and it was nice. We ordered the 6700 yen tempura course. Overall, the seasoning was strong, and the variety of ingredients on the skewers made the meal enjoyable. The frying was done quite well, and there was a nice touch to the sauce, so it didn't get boring. The sea bream ochazuke was delicious, and the dessert was not bad either. The price was okay. Thank you for the meal.

We visited this restaurant in the midst of heavy snowfall. My wife had been checking it out for a while, and it turned out to be a great find. It's located just a few minutes' walk from Kyoto Station and the prices are reasonable. We were the only ones at the counter when we arrived early. The kushikatsu skewers were bite-sized and easy to eat, and they were delicious. After serving us a full course, they even offered, "You can have up to 2 more skewers if you like." Even though we were already quite full, we couldn't resist and ordered one more skewer. It would have been nice to enjoy it with a beer if we weren't driving. Overall, the food was well-prepared and tasty, and we definitely plan on returning. The only thing I would say is that the counter seats are quite close to the staff, so it would have been nice to have a bit more interaction with them. Looking forward to visiting again next time.

The extra-large Emperor shrimp, which spreads in your mouth, is a must-eat. Located about a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station, in a quiet area, is the sophisticated Yayoi-san, offering the Kushi Katsu Miyako Course for ¥6,600. The course includes: Kushi Kombu, Pork Fillet, Beef Tongue with Green Onion, Konjac Dressed in Sweet Miso, Beef Fillet, Yuba, Asparagus Wrapped in Thin Pork, Sesame Tofu, Kumiage Yuba, and Green Tea Soba. In addition, there are Chicken Meatballs, Camembert Cheese, Pumpkin Tea Pickles, and dessert. Oh my goodness, the shrimp here is amazing! It's the biggest shrimp I've ever had in my life. The crispy coating holds a juicy and tender shrimp inside. Eating it made me feel like I was in heaven. And even after finishing the course, I didn't feel full because I could add two more shrimp as a service. This place is perfect for a date or special occasion. Check out the course menu at the end of the slideshow. Thank you for the delicious meal!___Patrolling around Osaka, Kobe, and Kyoto for delicious food. There are three courses available, and I chose the middle course. The Kyoto course costs 6,600 yen and includes a variety of dishes such as vegetable sticks, pork fillet, beef tongue, and more. The meal also includes side dishes like burdock stick salad and tea soba. For dessert, you can choose between a blissful pudding or matcha pudding. Everything was delicious, but my favorites were the child-bearing kelp, beef tongue, and emperor shrimp. The portions were generous and the flavors were amazing. I highly recommend trying the lunch set with shrimp fry when you visit Kyoto Station. My personal top 3 dishes were: 1. Emperor shrimp, 2. Child-bearing kelp, 3. Beef tongue & asparagus pork roll. The food was reasonably priced, filling, and delicious with a light batter. If you're in Kyoto Station, be sure to check out this restaurant for a satisfying meal.

High-quality space with delicious deep-fried skewers cooked right in front of you is the best! The jumbo shrimp "Emperor Shrimp" is incredibly tasty and offers great value for money, making it perfect for dates or business dinners. The "Tokyo Course" priced at 6,600 yen includes vegetable sticks, 15 skewers + 2 extra skewers, 2 side dishes (sweet potato sticks, tea soba), rice with dashi broth (sea bream, salmon, plum), and dessert (pudding). The skewers are served in a specific order: simmered pork fillet, beef tongue, green onion, konjac, miso-marinated beef fillet, konbu seaweed, asparagus, thin pork rolls, sesame tofu, taro, camembert cheese, potato, tuna, octopus, sweet vinegar eggplant, white miso, Emperor Shrimp. After finishing, you can add 2 more skewers, so be sure to indulge. My top 3 favorites are the Emperor Shrimp, the most delicious shrimp I've ever had, with a bouncy and succulent texture that brings immense happiness when eaten. The fried sesame tofu melts in your mouth, offering a delightful taste and texture. The konbu seaweed, with its abundant texture, becomes even tastier when fried. The freshly fried skewers are visually appealing and incredibly delicious. The tea soba and dessert pudding served in between are also exceptionally tasty. For the satisfying experience offered, the price of 6,600 yen is a great deal, and I would love to visit this restaurant again.

Creative Kushikatsu in Kyoto, Shimogyo-ku - Yayo On this evening, I went with my childhood friend to a newly opened creative kushikatsu restaurant, Yayo, near our office. We ordered the "Kyoto Course" for ¥6,600, which included 15 assorted kushikatsu. The course consisted of items such as Bagna Cauda, Kombu with sea urchin sauce, beef fillet, beef tongue with leeks, konjac, pork fillet, maguro with ponzu vinegar, asparagus, thinly wrapped pork, abalone, and various other dishes. As a bonus, the chef offered us 2 complimentary kushikatsu of our choice. We chose beef tongue with scallions and potato. For the finale, we enjoyed a delicious dashi chazuke (sea bream), followed by a heavenly pudding dessert. We spent about 3 hours leisurely enjoying our meal, discussing business matters, and planning our next outing. It was a meaningful and enjoyable dining experience. Thank you for the feast! #Kyoto #CreativeKushikatsu #Gourmet #Yayo #Kushiage #Cheers #Delicious #Coursemeal #Draftbeer #Newopening #Sashimi #Bagnacauda #Chasoba #Seabreamchazuke #Supremepudding

The other day's dinner. A restaurant called Sosaku Kushikatsu Yaya, located about an 8-minute walk from Kyoto Station, where you can enjoy a course of kushikatsu. This restaurant is run by my former classmate from my student days and opened just this May. The seating consists of a counter with 10 seats and several tables for 6 people on the second floor. The clean and calm atmosphere of the interior is lovely. The menu consists only of courses. You can choose between a course of 10 or 15 skewers (the course price varies depending on the number of skewers), which includes skewers, side dishes, rice dishes, and dessert. This time, we opted for the 15-skewer course. While nibbling on vegetable sticks and cabbage that are brought out first, the first skewer arrives promptly. Skewers continue to come one or two at a time, such as skewers with kombu or konjac miso, camembert cheese topped with prosciutto, and many more creative skewers, accompanied by recommended ways to enjoy them with sauces, salt, grated ponzu, etc. The highlight is the large shrimp. It is thick and satisfying to eat. The richness of the shrimp and the tartar sauce that comes with it is a heavenly combination. After finishing all the skewers, they also offer to fry an additional 2 skewers as a service. Of course, you don't have to order them if you're already full. In addition to the skewers, the course includes cold soup, nanban-zuke, ochazuke, and dessert. It was a course full of volume! Thank you for the delicious meal. ⭐︎ 15-skewer course 6,600 yen (10-skewer course is 5,500 yen)

I visited Sosaku Kushikatsu Yayayasan for the first time! I was so impressed by their creative kushikatsu that I couldn't stop eating. Even though I ordered a set course, the batter was light and crispy, so I ended up ordering more and ate about 20 skewers. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also lovely, with spacious seats at the counter where I could relax comfortably.

The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, and there were surprises which made it very enjoyable. We opted for the all-you-can-drink option, but there weren't many choices of alcohol. However, the other aspects made up for it. The staff's customer service was also excellent.
