After eating a pudding parfait in Marlow, I headed to Time & Space in Futakotamagawa, but the grilled cheese toast I was interested in was sold out. Is it no good on a Saturday evening? Maybe I should try a cafe in Futakotamagawa instead. I arrived around 5:45 pm. The interior of the restaurant is clean and white, giving off a high-class vibe. It almost feels like an art museum? Well, the building itself is a high-end department store typical of Futakotamagawa. The restaurant was about 60% full, so I was able to enter easily. The customers were mostly couples, groups of two women, and a group of older ladies. It would probably be crowded during lunchtime. I was hoping to try one of the four parfaits like Soleil, but unfortunately, none were available. The only option was Shine Muscat, so I decided to pass this time since I had just eaten. Instead, I chose the Steak Hache Sandwich for 1848 yen and a drink set for 385 yen, which included an iced coffee and a mix of seasonal sorbet and homemade ice cream for 660 yen. Apparently, you get a 200 yen discount if you order a set with dessert. By the way, you can choose whether you want the sandwich toasted or not, so I asked for it toasted. The sandwich arrived in about 10 minutes. It was labeled as a steak, but it seemed more like a hamburger steak. However, the cross-section looked delicious. The thick hamburger patty was sandwiched between lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and other vegetables, making it a satisfying snack. The side dish seemed to be pickles. There was a hamburger wrap (I don't know the official name) available, so I wrapped it and took a bite. Huh? It was labeled as 100% beef, so I was expecting a gourmet burger with juicy meat, but it was the opposite – the meat was quite tough and well-done. This might be a matter of personal preference. The meat itself was tasty, but it lacked moisture, which only came from the vegetables. The mustard and garlic flavors were nice, but the overall taste was just okay. Next was the dessert. It included vanilla, matcha, and mango ice cream with berries and stick-shaped cookies. Under the ice cream was a finely crushed cookie dough. The ice cream was rich and delicious. The mango and matcha had a crunchy texture – was this intentional or just too cold? It was refreshing and tasty, but I wonder what the stick-shaped cookies were. They were crispy like cookie dough and delicious, but I wonder if they are a famous confection? It reminded me of Beard Papa's cookie choux dough. The total bill was 2783 yen. I paid with PayPay. Since I couldn't have the cheese sandwich I wanted, I ordered the sandwich as a replacement, but it didn't quite make up for it. The dessert was just a mix of ice cream, but it wasn't bad. I still want to come back for the parfait I had in mind. If they don't offer the parfait I wanted, I wish they had it written on the storefront. The staff's service and the atmosphere of the restaurant were good, so it's a shame.
