Heading south on Meidai Street, you'll come to Chiyoda Street where you'll see this café. The exterior has a modern, plain look typical of today's cafes. Inside, there's a small counter, two small tables, and one table for four people. They have a variety of coffee beans for sale, and you can also enjoy coffee inside the café. There's no menu per se, just a long-haired beautiful woman who handles everything. She recommended the lightly roasted coffee. Apparently, with Americano, the beans are predetermined, but with straight coffee, you can enjoy a variety of flavors. You can choose from 9 different types, some of which are quite pricey. There was even one for 2,500 yen. One cup for 2,500 yen, wow. That's out of my budget, so I went with the "Ethiopia" (850 yen). When asked if I knew a lot about coffee, I mentioned that I had dabbled a bit in college, which seemed to make her happy. I used to brew with Nel drip, but it was a pain because if you didn't wash it properly, it would quickly start to smell. The beans were expensive too, so I didn't stick with it. Payment was made upfront. I sat at the table and waited. Other customers were all enjoying their coffee alone. When the coffee was ready, I was called over. The coffee was brought to my table. In addition to the cup, there was another cup's worth of coffee in a beaker-like container. Hmm, if it's two cups for 850 yen, that's not bad. The coffee aroma wasn't overpowering. Come to think of it, they mentioned a light roast. I usually think of dark roast as the norm. One sip... hmm, a clean taste with a hint of acidity. It reminded me of the taste of Ethiopian coffee from distant memory. It seemed a bit sharper back then. But what a relaxing time. I never expected to find this level of coffee in this kind of café setting. Despite being surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the city, this place feels like a different world. I thought you could only experience this kind of high-quality coffee in specialized coffee shops, but to be able to get it in a café style like this is surprising. Given the prices, you'd have to be quite the coffee aficionado to come to this place. But it's definitely worth a visit, and you won't regret it.
