Heading south on Meidai Street, you'll come to Chiyoda Street where you'll see this café. The exterior has a modern, plain look typical of today's cafes. Inside, there's a small counter, two small tables, and one table for four people. They have a variety of coffee beans for sale, and you can also enjoy coffee inside the café. There's no menu per se, just a long-haired beautiful woman who handles everything. She recommended the lightly roasted coffee. Apparently, with Americano, the beans are predetermined, but with straight coffee, you can enjoy a variety of flavors. You can choose from 9 different types, some of which are quite pricey. There was even one for 2,500 yen. One cup for 2,500 yen, wow. That's out of my budget, so I went with the "Ethiopia" (850 yen). When asked if I knew a lot about coffee, I mentioned that I had dabbled a bit in college, which seemed to make her happy. I used to brew with Nel drip, but it was a pain because if you didn't wash it properly, it would quickly start to smell. The beans were expensive too, so I didn't stick with it. Payment was made upfront. I sat at the table and waited. Other customers were all enjoying their coffee alone. When the coffee was ready, I was called over. The coffee was brought to my table. In addition to the cup, there was another cup's worth of coffee in a beaker-like container. Hmm, if it's two cups for 850 yen, that's not bad. The coffee aroma wasn't overpowering. Come to think of it, they mentioned a light roast. I usually think of dark roast as the norm. One sip... hmm, a clean taste with a hint of acidity. It reminded me of the taste of Ethiopian coffee from distant memory. It seemed a bit sharper back then. But what a relaxing time. I never expected to find this level of coffee in this kind of café setting. Despite being surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the city, this place feels like a different world. I thought you could only experience this kind of high-quality coffee in specialized coffee shops, but to be able to get it in a café style like this is surprising. Given the prices, you'd have to be quite the coffee aficionado to come to this place. But it's definitely worth a visit, and you won't regret it.

On Sundays, the cafe is usually more than half full by 6:30pm. I sometimes come here in the late morning or early afternoon, but it gets crowded in the evening too. The cafe latte costs 1,000 yen, but it's still delicious as always. It has a good aroma and a pleasantly roasted flavor with a complex depth. The portion size is a bit small, but the quality is worth the price. Since trying the coffee here, my perception of coffee has changed. Each type of bean has its own unique characteristics, so even though I don't usually like drip or Americano, I might find one that I enjoy here. The coffee beans I had that day cost 3,500 yen for 150g, while other beans range from 2,000 yen to 150g. The cafe roasts their own beans, and there's always a pleasant aroma in the air.

Cost performance is not good. However, it is delicious. Highly recommended for those who love specialty coffee. To be honest, the concept of coffee has been overturned. If you like bitter coffee, I do not recommend it, but if you are looking for a flavor full of acidity, it is worth it. The staff are kind and fluent in English, so it is also recommended for foreigners.

I visited before noon on a weekday. About 60% of the seats were taken. I tried a fruity iced coffee, although I forgot the name of the beans. The staff explained the coffee to me, so I think it would be great for those who are interested in coffee.

GLITCH COFFEE & ROASTERS in Jinbocho is a place where you can have a new coffee experience. Whether you're on a date, enjoying some alone time, or hanging out with friends, this is the perfect place. The baristas are very friendly and will recommend from a selection of dozens of beans based on your mood and preferences. From fruity to refreshing herb-like flavors, you'll be amazed by the variety. On this particular day, after much deliberation, I chose a lightly roasted Colombian coffee with herb and lime notes. The atmosphere of the shop is calm and you wouldn't think it's located in the city center! You can truly spend some quality time alone here. Towards the back of the shop, you'll find a roasting machine, which makes it understandable how they offer such a wide range of coffee options. At the counter, you can purchase a variety of coffee beans. I was so impressed by the coffee I had that day that I decided to buy the Colombian beans to brew at home. The barista even gave me advice on how to brew it to taste like the one in the shop. While it may be a bit pricey for daily visits, the delicious coffee makes it worth it. It's a great place to relax and enjoy some quality time with coffee-loving friends. I wonder what kind of coffee I'll discover next time. Colombia CGLE La Esperanza Java: 1. The coffee has a hint of acidity like old minimal berries and a fermented cocoa taste. 2. The roasting adds stability to the flavor profile from point 1. 3. The fermented taste fades away, leaving a smooth lemon acidity as the main flavor. Mexico Oaxaca Arroyo (2022 COE No. 21): 1. There is a distant dark berry flavor like dried grapes with a hint of roasting. 2. The roasting aroma becomes stronger, with a grapefruit peel bitterness. 3. There is a spicy kick like biting into raw peppercorns, along with a strong roasting aroma, roasting-derived bitterness, and a subtle sweetness from the dark berries.

The shop with a huge roasting machine is impressive. The smell from outside is amazing. The staff's explanation is very polite, and the customer service is very pleasant. It's enjoyable to choose coffee while learning various things. Even on weekdays, it was almost full, so be prepared when you go. It's not really a place to linger, but it's highly recommended for taking a break and enjoying delicious coffee.

I went around 12 o'clock on Saturday. It was interesting to be able to choose from various types of beans. Some cups cost around 3,500 yen, so I think it's a place that can be enjoyed by those who understand. The atmosphere inside the shop was nice, with the Rolling Stones playing on vinyl records.

I saw this place while passing by and it looked nice, so I decided to check it out. When I went to the takeout counter, a beautiful lady kindly explained to me that they only sell one type of pre-extracted coffee there. If you want to choose from different beans and have them extract a cup for you, you can do that at the main counter inside the store. I was a bit undecided, but there was a line forming so I decided to go with the pre-extracted coffee this time. It was lightly roasted with a good sweetness and floral notes, and there was only a slight bitterness that can sometimes occur when coffee is left sitting. It was delicious. Next time, I want to try their drip coffee. [Order] Pre-extracted coffee 400 yen *There seemed to be a specific name for it, but I forgot.

I heard from a colleague about a coffee shop that caught my interest, so I decided to visit in the afternoon. The exterior of the shop was extremely stylish, and even though it was a weekday, there were several groups of people lined up outside. I was nervous to check out the menu prices displayed outside. When I tried to peek inside the shop, I was asked to wait, which made me even more anxious. When it was finally my turn, I was informed that they only served lightly roasted coffee and was asked if I wanted it black, hot, or iced. The staff recommended the Colombian coffee, which had three different varieties (pineapple aroma, lime-like aroma, caramel and butter-like aroma), each priced at 1000 yen per cup (there were also options in the 2000 yen range). As a fan of caramel, I chose the third option without hesitation. A beautiful lady brewed the coffee using a hand drip method while I waited. The coffee was served in a flask-like container for those dining in. The aroma was reminiscent of flavored coffee, and despite being lightly roasted, it had a rich and refreshing taste. The delicious flavor lingered in my mouth, and the pleasant aroma filled my nose, making me feel incredibly happy. Even when it cooled down, it was still delicious. It was a coffee that I couldn't afford on a regular basis but would love to treat myself to. I will definitely visit again.

The entire place is made of glass, so you can see the atmosphere inside. It's a very popular spot filled with foreign customers around noon on weekdays! I tried the Columbia Milan, Hot Cafe Latte, which had a delicious almond flavor with a hint of sweetness. I would love to try other items on the menu as well! The cafe opens at 8 am, so I arrived 5 minutes late and there were already 4 people waiting, including 2 foreigners. With only one barista and one assistant working in the morning, the barista took the time to ask for my preferences before making a pour-over coffee, which made me feel special. I decided to try the recommended Geisha coffee for 3500 yen, called Nirvana. It had a strong berry flavor and a clean taste, which I really enjoyed. I usually prefer light roasts and have tried many different coffees, but this one stood out for its amazing taste and cleanliness. Although the price may seem high for two cups, the quality justifies it. Thank you for the two cups of delicious coffee!

The staff recommended a fruity Colombian coffee for 1000 yen. The waiter in black explained that it is lightly roasted to bring out the acidity. It's hard to describe the taste, but it's like a sour herbal tea. Worth a visit for conversation starters.

This is a well-known café famous for its lightly roasted coffee. It seems popular among younger customers (more in their 20s than 30s) and foreign tourists. The seating is limited, so you may have to wait. I decided to compare Colombian and Costa Rican coffee. The barista recommended the fruity Colombian, but I actually preferred the Costa Rican. It made me realize that coffee preference is subjective and depends on mood and taste.

-Wednesday 13:45, no wait time -Ordered El Salvador for 1000 yen and Colombia Milan for 1000 yen -300 yen discount for ordering two drinks -Access: 7 minutes walk from Jimbocho Station -Interior: 6-seat counter, 3 two-person table seats, benches, terrace bench -Customer base: solo diners, pairs, many foreign customers -Payment: PayPay -Notes: A cafe in Jimbocho that focuses on single origin coffees. Most customers are foreigners. They serve light roasted coffees only, catering to those who appreciate the individual characteristics of coffee beans. If you're not particular about beans, they will recommend around 5 options from the "Innovation" category. I was recommended a chocolate-like flavored coffee and a refreshing one, so I chose Colombia Milan and El Salvador. Both were fruity, but I could distinguish their unique characteristics, which was interesting.

What is this place? The clientele here seemed different from what you typically see in Japan. The menu is in English only, and most of the customers are foreigners. The atmosphere was a bit unique. They offer a variety of single origin coffees, categorized as follows: - Traditional: Basic options - Innovation: Made using unique farming methods - Hard to find: Very rare selections I chose beans from Bolivia/Geisha and Colombia/Milan. Both were undeniably delicious. Especially the Milan had a milky aroma despite being lightly roasted, offering a taste unlike any I've had before. This is a recommended spot for those who want to deepen their understanding and enjoyment of coffee. Thank you for the meal.

It's been a while since I last updated. I visited around noon. The interior is cool. The atmosphere is lovely. I'm not a fan of acidity, so this time I ordered a cafe latte. After the fruity taste, I could feel the sweetness of the milk. Personally, I prefer lattes with a bit more bitterness. Those who like light roasts should find it delicious. Thank you for the meal. *The photo was taken after asking the staff.

A high-end coffee shop that uses carefully selected beans roasted in-house for 1,000 yen per cup. The concept focuses on the aroma of light roasts and the natural flavors of the beans without blending, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. In fact, for 1,000 yen, the taste was lacking. The promised innovation in the coffee's name was not evident. The overall emphasis on style over practicality was evident in the hard-to-read menu and cramped interior. The small cups without handles were difficult to hold and transferred heat quickly, making it hard to drink when hot, while the other cup in a flask cooled too quickly. While the flavor was initially as described, it developed a bitter aftertaste as it cooled. I'm not an expert, so I'm not sure if it was due to the brewing method, but it didn't feel like a 1,000 yen worth of coffee. I know it may not be fair to compare, but isn't it innovative that you can get freshly ground and tasty coffee at a low price from 7-Eleven stores nationwide? In terms of innovation, this felt more like a self-indulgence. However, some people seem to love it, so I guess tastes vary!

Coffee specialty store located on the corner of a intersection in Kanda Nishikicho. The shop doesn't have a prominent sign, and the name of the shop is not immediately clear. The menu displayed outside shows prices as "ask." Despite the shop being empty, this actually makes it feel intimidating and hard to enter. Upon further research, I found out that the shop was established in 2015 and has one store each in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya, offering specialty coffee. With over 150 reviews, it seems more popular than I expected. After conquering the participating curry shops in the area, I decided to finally step inside. Upon entering the open entrance, there is a counter with coffee beans in bottles on top, each labeled with the type of beans and prices. To the left are traditional light roast beans for 700 yen, and to the right are newer types explained at 1,000 yen. So this is what "ask" means. I chose the 700 yen Ethiopian coffee with a fruity flavor. Since I felt like just ordering a specialty coffee might not be enough, I also ordered a banana brûlée for 380 yen. After paying, I was told to choose any seat. I had to wait a bit as they ground the beans and hand-dripped the coffee. The coffee was served in a cup without a handle and a flask-shaped glass container on a wooden tray. There was no milk or sugar provided to fully enjoy the coffee, which was a bit disappointing for me as I prefer adding milk. The coffee had a light and fruity aroma, and the portion was not very large. As the cup ran low, I poured more from the flask. The sweet banana brûlée with chocolate chips was a nice touch. Overall, the price was reasonable, but I personally prefer old-fashioned coffee from traditional cafes. Those with a discerning palate and an interest in coffee might appreciate the difference and enjoy engaging in specialized conversations with the staff. Unfortunately, I do not possess a delicate and sophisticated palate, so I may not fit in with that crowd. This shop is known for its strong commitment to high-quality and expensive coffee, so I felt compelled to leave a review after visiting. Perhaps that's why there are so many reviews. I contributed one more to the count. Thank you for the meal.

Located between Jimbocho and Kanda, this coffee shop has a very stylish and cool interior. Upon entering, you'll see a variety of coffee beans displayed all around. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options, I asked the friendly staff for recommendations. They kindly explained the different beans and suggested three options for my iced coffee: "robust," "refreshing," and "distinctive flavor" (like caramel). Intrigued, I ordered the "refreshing" and "distinctive flavor" coffees and waited for them to be served. Each coffee was priced differently based on the beans, and this time it was 1000 yen each. - Milano (Distinctive caramel-like flavor): Upon taking a sip, I could taste a caramel-like flavor, although it wasn't sweet. It was indeed a unique and distinctive coffee with a hint of caramel. Very easy to drink and personally, I quite enjoyed the taste. - Montebalco (Refreshing): This coffee was simply delicious and had a nice, refreshing taste. It had a smooth and refreshing mouthfeel, making it perfect for a summer drink. Both coffees were distinctive and quite delicious. The interior of the shop, including the record player, created a cozy atmosphere, and I had a very pleasant time there. The coffees were delicious, and I will definitely be back. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

On August 15, 2022, on the day commemorating the end of the war, I visited a cafe in Kanda Jimbocho for the first time, during a visit home with my son. Based on information from my son, who mentioned that this cafe is known for serving authentic coffee and is frequented by famous celebrities, we decided to check it out. As we entered, we were greeted by a display of various single-origin coffee beans, with the staff providing detailed explanations about each one. After expressing our preferences, I was recommended the El Salvador coffee, while my son opted for the Colombian coffee. We paid upfront and chose to sit at the counter to enjoy our coffee. The El Salvador coffee, served in a decanter and Arita ware cup, reminded me of the light roast Honduran coffee I had the day before. It brought to mind the similarities between the two countries, which had a "Soccer War" in 1969 after a World Cup qualifying match. I realized that Kanda Jimbocho is a neighborhood where you can experience both the nostalgia of old-fashioned cafes and cutting-edge cafes specializing in single-origin light roasts.
