This is also a visit record from 2018, the beloved local restaurant 'Daiichi Asahi' in Katsura. May 2018 - Special It's been a while since I had Akira from Katsura! Lately, I've become a fan of 'Daiki' and have been neglecting Akira, but the power when I hit the spot here is comparable to the main store or Terada. Well, it's rare to reach that level, but on this day, it wasn't one of those days. Still, it was delicious enough. Akira is the best when you come home tired in the middle of the night and can eat with peace of mind. I used to see the big-chan mark of 'Daiichi Asahi' everywhere, but now it has decreased quite a bit, but it's still a restaurant I love. August 2018 - Special A little while since I had Akira from Katsura. In the summer, I tend to go for cold tsukemen due to the heat, but on this day, I was in the mood for Akira for some reason. Unfortunately, it was late at night, so the options were limited, but the local Akira in Katsura was open. The taste here fluctuates quite a bit, and when it's divine, it surpasses Takabashi and Terada, but this day was just an ordinary day. A safe and stable special with perfect pork flavor, moderate oil, and plenty of toppings. Yeah, it hits the spot. October 2018 - Special A little while since I had Akira from Katsura. I had a long overtime that day and returned to Kyoto late at night, seeking comfort. Of course, I ordered the special as usual, with extra vegetables and a half portion set. Unfortunately, the soup wasn't divine that day, a bit lacking in pork flavor and strong in seasoning. Additionally, the increased vegetables were a bit less, and the noodles ordered firm were a little soft. Hmm, well, Akira's fluctuation is a characteristic, especially in Katsura, where it's a bit more pronounced. Still, I love it. December 2018 - Special A little while since my last visit. It's just great that there's an Akira-style restaurant in the western part of Kyoto that's open late into the night. I ordered the special as usual, with firm noodles and extra vegetables. The vegetable portion may be lacking compared to Takabashi's main store, but it's free, so no complaints. The soup that day was a bit weak in pork flavor, but it was well covered by the oil and seasoning, making it satisfying. The noodles, cooked perfectly firm as requested, were devoured in no time. The vegetables, although the portion was a bit small, were still plentiful with plenty of bean sprouts and green onions, along with the delicious char siu. Yeah, thanks for the meal!
