I visited the restaurant for the first time after it moved from Kyoto Station. The atmosphere felt different from before, but the fish and vegetables were delicious and the staff were friendly. The lunch menu was also varied and, above all, inexpensive. I plan to visit for lunch next time.

There is a shop along Shichijo Street that offers a reasonably priced daily special for 880 yen. Today's special is pork ginger stir-fry, with a ratio of about 4 parts pork to 6 parts onion, providing a satisfying meal. In addition to the main ginger stir-fry, the set includes mini side dishes such as cold tofu, green pea and egg stir-fry, and yuzu radish, along with rice and miso soup with seaweed. The rice portion is generous, making it a place to fill up your stomach. I have visited this place several times and I feel like there is more energy in the atmosphere now, perhaps because the kitchen staff has changed. Currently, a pair of parent and child who look alike seem to be running the kitchen. Also, for some reason, there are many students on a school trip here. It was a mystery as the atmosphere of the shop and the school trip students seemed mismatched.

It's a daily special fried horse mackerel set meal. The coating is crispy, and the fish is fluffy. Both tonkatsu sauce and tartar sauce were delicious.

I had the set meal for lunch. The side dishes were sashimi and tempura, both delicious, and the rice was cooked perfectly fluffy. The miso soup had a deep flavor, possibly made from fish bones, and for 880 yen, it was quite a good deal. The only downside is that smoking is allowed, which can ruin the enjoyment of the delicious food. While it may be a tradition of this restaurant, it would be great if they could reconsider this policy.

Last time I came, it was supposed to be the second generation MANZO. There doesn't seem to be any changes to the menu, so I wonder if it has become a shop in the same series?

The drinks came quickly and the service was polite. Although the prices felt a bit high, all the dishes were good and there were no disappointments.

The salt-grilled sweetfish and seasonal dishes were plentiful and delicious!
