I visited Gyukatsu-san for the first time! It is located very close to Fushimi Inari Shrine. It was relatively empty around 7pm on a weekday, but quickly filled up and became full. Maybe because of the Gion Festival season, more than half of the customers were foreigners. We tried the fillet and tongue, sharing between two people. It was nice that rice, miso soup, and cabbage were free refills, but I wish there were more choices for dressings to enjoy more cabbage. The dressing seemed to be onion dressing. The fillet was so tender and delicious. It was great on its own, but even juicier and more flavorful when seared on the hot plate. The tongue was chewy, but tasty. It was quite filling, so we enjoyed trying different flavors like miso pickles, grated yam, curry, soy sauce, salt and pepper, and sauce.

I stopped by here while visiting Fushimi Inari. There is another branch near my workplace, but this was my first time visiting. The beef cutlet was delicious, and the rice and pickles were also very tasty. The size of the restaurant is not very big, so there was quite a long waiting time.

Sirloin cutlet set meal for around 1,600 yen. Visited with a rating of 3.0 on Tabelog. No parking available, but there is a coin parking nearby which is a bit pricey. The dish is served rare, so you can cook it to your liking. You can also get free refills of rice, which is satisfying.

Tourists are starting to come back to Fushimi Inari, and the atmosphere at this restaurant is great! The menu mainly focuses on various cuts of beef katsu, with some fish options as well. You can choose different combinations of cuts, which can be quite overwhelming. But I decided on the one and only, the black wagyu katsu set for 2490 yen (excluding tax). It looked smaller than I expected, about the size of two palm hands. However, it was delicious! They cook it on a hot plate and you can finish it off yourself, which is great. There are plenty of condiments to enjoy with it. You can also get free refills of rice, so I asked for a smaller portion. It was really tasty, but the portion was small!

I visited during lunchtime. It was quite crowded even though it was a weekday. I ordered the fish set meal (1100 yen), which was made with mackerel. The fish was quite large and delicious. I was happy to see that the miso soup came in a big bowl. The two side dishes that came with it were also quite good. Overall, I think this restaurant is a valuable find in this area, as there are not many Japanese-style set meal restaurants aside from udon places. I will probably visit again, but unfortunately, the rice was not very tasty. This seems to be a common issue in Kyoto restaurants, but it's still disappointing.

On weekends, this restaurant is very crowded, but on weekday nights it was empty so I decided to go in. I ordered the beef cutlet set meal. It takes quite some time even though the restaurant is not busy, probably because of the cutlet. The cutlet was a bit thin and the coating was slightly hard. It's nice that you can enjoy three different flavors with wasabi soy sauce, sansho pepper salt, and beef cutlet sauce. You can get a refill of rice once and the soup has a lot of vegetables and is delicious. However, considering that the cutlet set meal costs 1628 yen including tax, the cost performance is a bit poor. It might be better to avoid eating here on weekends when you have to wait in line.

Inari no Hihama Tanoboru, located next to Mr. Noboru in the south, opened recently so my partner and I decided to visit. We were prepared for a long line, but luckily we were the first customers due to the weather. We started with beer, but unfortunately they only had Maltz instead of the Sapporo Red Star that was on the menu. So, we decided to try the Highball, which was served in a cold, crisp glass and was delicious. We ordered the following dishes: my partner had the Greedy Special Set for ¥2680, which included tongue, rib, and fillet, while I had the Black Wagyu Beef Cutlet Kyoto Tamago Set for ¥2480 (with a warm egg on rice at the end). The cutlet was crispy, the meat was sweet and delicious, and it didn't cause any stomach discomfort. It was a tasty beef cutlet at a reasonable price. The Greedy Special Set was perfect for enjoying a drink while having the cutlet as a snack. Thank you for the meal. (Note) Additional servings of barley rice, red miso soup, and cabbage are free. An extra pork cutlet costs ¥600.

During a weekday around 11 o'clock, Fushimi Inari station area is bustling with Chinese tourist groups. Feeling overwhelmed, I entered a restaurant where there were a Japanese couple and an Asian woman already seated. I ordered the special beef loin cutlet Kyoto Tamagozen for 1380 yen along with a bottle of beer. The cabbage was plentiful and delicious with yuzu sauce. There were four sauces for the cutlet - dashi soy sauce, wasabi with the cutlet, sansho salt, Worcestershire sauce, and curry sauce. The dashi soy sauce and wasabi combination was particularly tasty. The curry sauce was a bit heavy but suited Japanese taste. The beef cutlet was thin so the meat flavor was not very prominent, but the color was nice. The Kyoto tamago (soft-boiled egg) was average. Since it's a chain restaurant, it was almost the same as the one I had at Yodobashi. The spacious layout may be a plus point. Later, an Asian couple and a group of four men arrived. The staff had a hard time explaining the sauces to them. It would be chaotic if a large group of Chinese tourists arrived. I haven't been there at night, but it might be nice as it seems quiet.

I searched for a nearby meal during my trip and found this place. Although it was a bit pricey for my family, the food was delicious! We had to wait a little bit after writing our name down, but the atmosphere was nice and we left satisfied overall!

I ordered the lean fillet, expecting it to be more rare, but it was still good! It was a bit different from the photo, but it was delicious!

This shop is a Kyoto brand beef cutlet shop that is rapidly expanding its stores. The prices give off a premium feel while still offering good value for money. There always seems to be a line. This time, I used it for takeout. The takeout bento boxes are priced quite low. Perhaps they source different meat for the bento boxes. It certainly reduces losses and makes it easier for customers to purchase. Despite the price, the beef cutlet was well-made and satisfying for 1000 yen. The seasoning could be a bit lighter. Thank you for the meal.
