I went to a shop in Kyoto for the first time in search of a legendary bento. When I think of Ropia, I can only think of the "Ebi-zuke Don" bento! It's rarely available at the store. I asked the staff and was told that they only make it when they have good shrimp. I had it at the end of the year and was so impressed by its deliciousness that I've been wanting to eat it ever since. I was lucky to come across it this time, so I changed my dinner plans and decided to eat it in my hotel room instead. Eating out is nice, but having a mischievous meal in a hotel room after a long time is great. The pickling sauce has a hint of Shaoxing wine, giving it a deliciously drunken shrimp-like flavor. The ikura is also pleasantly popping. I love Ropia's sweet dashimaki tamago. The fried chicken is also delicious! The shrimp pickled rice bowl should be a regular item. The cherries were delicious on June 30, 2023. The fruit was good on February 3, 2022. Strawberries were lucky to be reduced from 1000 yen to 500 yen. It's a shame they only accept cash. They have unique items that you don't see in regular supermarkets. The variety of craft beers was impressive. I went to buy BBQ ingredients on April 27, 2022. I bought a 689g grade 5 meat for 4,120 yen (598 yen/100g), a pizza for 500 yen, one clam for 200 yen, scallops in shells, assorted vegetables, PB grilled chicken sauce, pork loin, garlic teriyaki chicken, PB sauce. The private brand yakiniku sauce from Lopia was good.

Ropia has also expanded to Fukuoka and Kyoto. The eel rice bowl for 400 yen is delicious! The rich chocolate pudding for 99 yen is delicious! The Yellow Cherry Kyoto Beer for 269 yen is delicious! Convenient, cheap, and delicious, the best! I like that strange song BGM.

I visited during a business trip to Kyoto in August 2022. I had heard rumors about this place before, so I went to buy some beer. It was for drinking at the hotel where I was staying. Even though it was just a regular supermarket, the selection of beers was amazing. I picked two bottles of Revision from the options available. The usual long wait at the checkout in Ropia, but surprisingly my turn came quickly this time, which was great. Overall, it felt like a supermarket with a strong selection of beers. I would love to go back if I have the chance.

First visit, garlic and Asahi ponzu are cheap. Vegetables are okay, meat is cheap, frozen items are cheap. Chose the Garlic Anchovy pizza (540 yen) from the piled up pizzas. When cut and warmed at home, it tastes like American food court. Thick bread dough with big crust. Cheese is minimal but satisfying to eat. Had a drink in the afternoon and shared with my spouse, feeling full. Quite a good deal. Need a pizza cutter. It's salty and not good for health, but irresistible.

The pizza is pretty tasty.
