Lunch buffet for 1,000 yen. In addition to the items in the photo, there were also soba noodles, oden, etc. The tempura batter was crispy and delicious, and the other side dishes were also tasty. However, the seasoning was a bit strong for everything... But overall, I was satisfied, satisfied ☺

I went to a lunch buffet for the second time, which cost 1,000 yen. I didn't go for seconds on the side dishes, but I did have seconds of rice and miso soup. As a result, I ate too much...

I went to a lunch buffet on January 5th. It was a Japanese buffet restaurant located next to the lobby of a business hotel. The impressive dishes were tempura and New Year's traditional dishes. The New Year's dishes had carrots cut into the shape of "longevity" character. The tempura was crispy and hot, served to be easily eaten. I was impressed that they provided all this for only 950 yen. The food wasn't particularly amazing, but it was all homey and easy to eat. However, the seasoning was a bit strong. There were many elderly customers, so I wish they would try to reduce the salt content. The customers were few, mostly middle-aged men dining alone. The restaurant was very quiet, which made me feel awkward as a mother with a crying baby. Being on the 1st floor of the hotel, we could easily escape outside from the lobby if needed. I handed the crying baby to my husband and continued to eat. There were a few elderly customers enjoying oranges and coffee while reading the newspaper in the lobby. The restaurant was spacious and not crowded, allowing for a relaxing dining experience. There was always one staff member by the dishes, promptly refilling them when they ran out. I felt that despite being inexpensive, the service was good, but my husband didn't like it because he found it difficult to get the food. We stayed from 12:00 to around 13:30, and there were only about 10 customers in total. I am worried about the profitability from the restaurant's perspective. Therefore, I wanted to support them by posting this review. It's affordable and filling. A breastfeeding mother-friendly restaurant for those who get hungry easily. A restaurant that is also friendly for elderly customers who want to read the newspaper alone. I will definitely visit again.

When running along Shichijo Street near Kyoto Station, I always notice the word "buffet". Upon closer inspection, I see that on the first floor of Hotel Station Kyoto Nishikan, there is a restaurant called "Yu Yu" that offers a buffet. I happened to be wandering around Kyoto Station and decided to stop by. In front of the restaurant, the recommended buffet menu for the day was "Teriyaki Pork Fillet" for 950 yen per person. I paid the fee at the hotel counter and entered the restaurant across the street. The restaurant had about 14 tables, which was a decent size. I secured a seat and went to get food, with over 20 different dishes to choose from. I decided to try a bit of everything. The buffet included tempura (shrimp, white fish, pumpkin, green pepper), pork fillet with teriyaki sauce, simmered chicken, simmered fish, omelette, various salads (cucumber, mayo, etc.), bonito sashimi, fried chicken, cold shabu-shabu, somen noodles, rice, miso soup, desserts, and more. I felt pressured to eat everything I took. Although I managed to finish, I couldn't eat the rice like chirashi sushi because I was already full. The taste overall was nothing special, but the ability to eat a lot was satisfying. There was a man who had piled up over 5 plates of jelly desserts, so it seems you can indulge in your favorite items. The value for money is high due to the almost unlimited amount of food you can eat, so the price is reasonable. The taste, service, and atmosphere were decent. It can be challenging to find traditional eateries around Kyoto Station, but there are many hotels on the first floor or basement that offer buffet restaurants, which can be convenient when in need. Rating: 3.5 stars (70/100)

The lunch buffet cost 950 yen. Today's menu included tempura (vegetables, white fish, shrimp, etc.), zaru soba, pork shabu-shabu, stir-fry, almond jelly, salad, miso soup, and rice. I haven't had shrimp tempura in a while, so I ended up eating quite a bit. There were hardly any people, and it seems Kyoto is quiet away from the station. I arrived around 1 o'clock, there were three people, but eventually I was the only one left. Perhaps because of that, the staff seemed to be in relax mode. In that sense, there was no service. The drink options included orange juice, tea, and coffee, but the orange juice may not be 100% pure. It might be watered down. The coffee was instant. Despite the strict points, I enjoyed the zaru soba and shrimp tempura. I am full now.

When I traveled to Kyoto, I went to a breakfast buffet with both Japanese and Western dishes. I arrived at the restaurant around 8:30 am and was able to sit down without waiting as there were plenty of seats available. There was a sign saying "currently full" for some reason, which was a bit confusing. I paid 800 yen upfront and was seated. The buffet had bread, rice, corn soup, miso soup, as well as side dishes like simmered hijiki seaweed, rolled omelette, bacon, and fried potatoes, offering a good variety. For drinks, there was tea, water, orange juice, and milk, catering to both Japanese and Western food preferences. The restaurant is conveniently located near Kyoto Station, just a 1-minute walk from Higashi-Honganji Temple, making it easy to have breakfast and then head out for sightseeing. I would definitely like to visit again on my next trip.
