I arrived around 9pm on a weekend night. The place was moderately busy but I was able to get a seat right away. I came for the pudding, so I just used the cafe area. The pudding had a slightly bitter caramel flavor with a hint of acidity, which I liked. The texture of the pudding was also really good and very delicious. It's a rare cafe that stays open late into the night.

Hello. I'm Keinsuke. Today, I would like to introduce the cafe "Kissa FRONT" located in Nishioji. This cafe is actually a late-night cafe that opens from 6pm. It stays open until midnight, so you can enjoy coffee and dessert after having dinner in Kyoto. The exterior gives a modern impression, but the interior is a Showa retro space with brick walls, antique furniture, and great lighting. There seems to be a retro cafe boom in recent years, as there were many young people.

- Custard pudding with a slightly firm texture (420 yen): The retro pudding served on a silver plate is generously topped with dark caramel. There are no extra decorations like cream or ice cream, so you can purely enjoy the taste of pudding and caramel. When you take a bite, the egginess of the pudding mixes with the bitterness of the caramel. The bitterness seems to slightly overpower the sweetness. I paired this bitter pudding with a mixed juice. The rich and sweet mixed juice was a perfect match for the bitter pudding.
<Summary>
There aren't many cafes in the Kyoto area that stay open late, so it's good to remember this one for a casual visit after a meal. If you're interested, be sure to check it out. Thank you for the meal.

■This cafe is open from 6:00 pm until late at night, offering a wide range of menu items such as dinner sets and custard pudding. I had passed by during the day and thought it was closed, but I found out that it had changed to late-night hours, so I decided to stop by when I was in Nishijin at night!■Order (tax included)✔ Custard pudding with a slightly firm texture 420 yenThe name is a bit long, but just from that, you can tell what kind of pudding it is. All handmade in the store, the texture is indeed firm. The caramel was quite bitter as it looks, and it paired well with the custard.✔ Blend coffee 530 yenThe acidity is mild, and it goes well with the pudding. ☕

I had some business in Saiin and was looking for a cafe to spend time until my appointment. The exterior looked like a typical town cafe, but the interior had a solid Showa retro vibe, which was a bit surprising. They had about 10 types of cream soda on the menu, so I decided to try the Pink Grapefruit one. It was cute. They also seemed to offer Japanese-style lunch sets, which seems to be a trend for cafes, but it's nice. Thank you for the meal.

The background music is jazz, creating a warm atmosphere reminiscent of old-fashioned coffee shops. The red velvet sofas look very elegant against the previously green decor, and the clean floor and Western-style toilets are a nice touch. This relaxing space allows for a leisurely experience. While many puddings these days tend to be soft, the pudding here is firm. It was a refreshing change to enjoy a firmer pudding after a long time.

I visited "Cafe FRONT" after researching in advance. The exterior looked quite modern, but once inside, it felt like stepping back in time to the Showa era with a retro atmosphere. The interior, furniture, chairs, and tables all had a very calming vibe, making it a Shangri-La for those from the Showa generation. Since I had already eaten lunch, I just used the cafe this time. I ordered a hot Vienna coffee, which was delicious with the perfect blend of slightly melted whipped cream. Although I only used the cafe this time, I am curious about the generous meal menu. I would like to come back again if I have the chance.

At around 12:30 on a regular day, there were about 3 groups of customers. The retro atmosphere is still calming. The lunch set is 820 yen, which is a price increase from last year! (´・_・`) It used to be 750 yen... I chose the tuna steak as my main dish. It was served with salted kelp. The hot and fluffy steak was delicious! Although I realized there were only 3 slices instead of 4... The simmered komatsuna as a side dish had a comforting and gentle taste. The salad consisted of lettuce, mizuna, corn, and fried onions, just like before. It was just enough for me, but it might be lacking for men. The service was friendly and the interior was lovely, but considering the cost performance, I may not come back. However, it is recommended for when you want to relax alone. Thank you for the meal.

A retro-style café near the west exit of Hankyu Kyoto Line Nishi-Iin Station. I happened to pass by and was drawn in by the retro exterior of the shop. The interior was also a retro-style café ♡ with red sofas and downlights. It was a cozy place. The lunch menu was very reasonable and tempting, but since it was after lunch, I decided to just have some tea... I ordered a set of toast and tea (*^^*) The thick toast with plenty of butter was delicious! The tea that came in a pot was either milk tea or straight tea, with different tea leaves! However, it was a bit weak in flavor... If only the amount of tea leaves and the water temperature were a bit higher... But the prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was nice, so I would like to visit again. By the way, the illustrations on the menu were very cute and funny, I loved it (´。✪ω✪。 ` ) Just looking at the menu made me excited! ▶Toast (Butter/Jam/Honey/Cinnamon) ¥400 *Chose butter ▶Set drink: Pot Tea (Lemon/Milk/Straight) ¥250 *Chose milk tea.

The cup is cute. I had the tuna steak set meal. It would be even better if miso soup was included. But coffee during the meal is also good.

Cream soda with alcohol for 700 yen. A sophisticated taste for adults. The retro cafe is the best!! I went to check it out because the business hours changed from August 25th.

After leaving the hospital, I visited FRONT again, where I had been just the other day. One of my worries was alleviated after the examination, and I felt calm in the atmosphere of FRONT. Today, I enjoyed a apple tart and an Americano. The tart had a refreshing and elegant sweetness, allowing me to relax.

Near Saiin Station, I finished my errands and found myself wandering along Shijo Street feeling hungry. The large menu board in front of a restaurant caught my eye, and I decided to go in. It was 6:30 pm on a weekday, and there were only four customers (all dining alone). The retro atmosphere inside made me excited. The restaurant was spacious, and I chose to sit in the back on a cozy sofa.
I ordered the "One Plate Dinner" for 750 yen, with a choice of four main dishes. I chose the tuna steak. The tuna steak was topped with bonito flakes and a hint of shichimi pepper. It was hot and fluffy, and the soy sauce flavor went well with the rice. The side dish of the day was chilled simmered daikon radish with miso sauce, which also included Chinese cabbage and shimeji mushrooms. The salad consisted of lettuce, watercress, corn, and fried onions.
All the dishes had a comforting and warm taste. The other customers dining alone were either enjoying their meals or reading a book while sipping coffee, creating a cozy atmosphere. When I paid the bill, the kitchen staff even thanked me. The calm lighting, plush sofa reminiscent of a movie theater, and the friendly staff made me love this place. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again!
