I went there on a whim. The prices are cheap and the skewers are small and easy to eat. The tsukune had shiso in it and was juicy and delicious. The prices are reasonable and I would like to go again.

The portions were big and satisfying, but you can only order in sets of two. The plum shiso had a light plum-flavored sauce instead of actual plum meat. The wasabi chicken was like eating grilled chicken dipped in soy sauce, not very tasty. I won't be going back.

The skewers are ordered in pairs of the same type (e.g. two peach skewers). It's better to go with multiple people because if you're alone, you won't be able to try different types. No Hoppy available. The taste is average. Probably won't visit this restaurant again.

When I went on a business trip to Kyoto, I visited this restaurant with a friend. We walked from Kyoto Station and passed by another yakitori restaurant, but we were drawn to this one with its strong red lanterns. It had been a while since I had been to a yakitori restaurant in Tokyo, so it was a nice change to enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional yakitori place. The restaurant had both counter and table seating, giving off a Showa-era vibe. There were about four groups of customers inside. The food was good. The menu was relatively extensive, with signs hanging on the walls. Some dishes allowed you to choose between sauce or salt, and even the salt option was delicious. The staff, particularly a lively and cheerful female staff member, were impressive. They were happy to recommend dishes when asked. As for whether I would visit again, it's hard to say since it's in Kyoto, but I doubt I'll forget this place anytime soon, especially with the memorable impression left by the lanterns.

JR Kyoto Station is a 6-7 minute walk away. From the Takeda Kaido Hachijo signal, head south on Takeda Kaido and cross two signals. The restaurant is a little further ahead on the right side. Inside, there are table seats and counter seats. It's a charcoal-grilled restaurant with affordable prices. They serve Super Dry beer and provide a complimentary appetizer. You can order yakitori starting from 2 skewers, so it's ideal to go with two or more people. They offer set menus with 5 varieties of yakitori for 1,000 yen, which is very reasonable. The sauce is slightly sweet, so you can dip lightly or add some shichimi pepper. They also have izakaya dishes and ochazuke, so you can finish your meal here. A great place to have a quick bite as your first stop and head to another place for your second stop.
