On June 10, 2023, I visited a cafe located a little outside the textile wholesale district of Bakurocho, near Bakuro-yokoyama Station. It's situated on Daidenmamachi Street in Nihonbashi. I ordered an iced coffee for 450 yen and a New York cheesecake for 500 yen. The cafe was quite crowded on the first floor, so I was led downstairs where there were various seating options including a bar counter, tables, and sofas. The atmosphere was lively with mostly young customers, including many foreigners. Despite being one of the few older customers in my 50s, I was able to relax and enjoy my coffee and delicious cheesecake, which had a refreshing hint of thyme. It was the best cheesecake I've ever had. I would definitely visit again if I'm in the area. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Visited a carrot cake shop recommended by Google's BARD. Ordered a Chai for ¥650 and two Spiced Carrot Cakes for ¥500 each (one for takeout). The Chai was okay, but the spices were not really to my liking. The Carrot Cake was good with a nice balance of sweetness and spices. It was a bit dry for my taste, but still one of my top favorites among the places I've tried. The takeout cake was supposed to be refrigerated, but there were no ice packs included (they advised to take it home quickly due to refrigeration requirements). It was wrapped in film and placed in a white paper bag, then into a brown paper bag. The ambiance of the shop was great, so I would definitely like to visit again. BARD is amazing (lol).

This cafe has a very nice atmosphere. I ordered a cafe latte on the 1st floor and then went to the underground seating area. There were a few foreigners there too. The cafe latte cost 600 yen. The glass was small, so I finished it quickly! I wish there was a bit more, but it was delicious. The underground seating area was spacious and relaxing, and the interior was stylish, so I would like to come back next time for breakfast or cake. ✨

The atmosphere of the shop and the staff were very nice, and I ended up staying for quite a while. The staff also seemed to stay for a long time. It's located in a hotel, so there were many inbound travelers. The bread, ham, eggs, and shiitake mushrooms were all varied and delicious. It's a wonderful cafe.

In a corner of the textile wholesaler district in Bakurocho, the door size was a bit surprising. Upon opening it, a spacious area with a high ceiling and a fan spinning was revealed. Under the stairs, there was a wide bar counter and a relaxed lounge. Despite the hot weather today, cool air was circulating. The menu was very simple. This time, I tried their specialty iced coffee. I refreshed myself in this brief moment of a different dimension space.

This was my first time visiting this cafe. I heard a lot of good reviews about their carrot cake, so I decided to stop by on a weekday afternoon. I ordered the carrot cake and an iced coffee. The carrot cake had a nice texture from the walnuts and a good balance of spices. The frosting was moist and delicious. The iced coffee had a strong flavor with hints of bitterness and acidity, showing their dedication to quality beans. The calm atmosphere in the basement made the experience even better. I definitely want to come back. Thank you!

I went to a cafe in Shodenmamachi town before heading to my destination. The first cafe I visited was about a 3-minute walk from the station. It was located on the first floor and basement of a hostel called CITAN, bustling with foreign visitors. I paid on the first floor and received my drink, an iced latte for 500 yen, along with a Mushroom Croque Monsieur for 800 yen. I then moved to the basement where my meal would be served. The basement was a surprise, spacious and felt like being overseas. There were table seats, sofa seats, and even a counter. The iced latte was okay, but I think a hot coffee would have been a better choice to taste the difference from other cafes. The bread used for the Croque Monsieur was from a nearby bakery called Beaver Bread, more like Danish pastry than regular bread. It was filled with high-quality bacon, mushrooms, eggs, cheese, and bechamel sauce spread on the dough. It's a bit pricey but delicious. The salad set seems to be popular as well.

#Berth Coffee #Bakuro-yokoyama #Bakurocho #Higashinihombashi #Kodenma This cafe is very popular in this area, located in the famous hostel CITAN. It's always busy and frequented by many inbound visitors. On this day, I went with my colleague for breakfast. - Open from 8:00, great for morning - They use bread from the famous nearby shop Beaver Bread for their pizza toast and open sandwiches - They offer a selection of carefully chosen coffee beans and a relaxed atmosphere I had the Thick Bacon and French Toast plate for ¥1,200 and an Iced Cafe Latte (L) for ¥650. The bacon and French toast plate is very popular and tends to sell out quickly. The bread is delicious as it's from Beaver Bread. I also recommend the pizza toast and croque monsieur. I personally like the outdoor seating, but for a more relaxed experience, I recommend the underground seating. Their Cannele with red bean paste is also recommended. Berth Coffee is not just great for morning, but also for lunch and tea time. They close at 19:00, but in the evening it becomes CITAN's dining bar. They don't charge a cover and you can pay cash for drinks. They are open until after 23:00, making it very convenient. Check it out! ❤️

I visited BERTH COFFEE in Bakuro-yokoyama, which I had always been curious about but had never been inside. I ordered the cheesecake (500 yen) and iced coffee (450 yen). This coffee stand is located on the first floor of CITAN, a hostel, and can be used by non-guests as well. There are counter seats on the first floor and a spacious cafe/bar space in the basement. When I arrived at the shop around 1 pm on a weekday, there were about half of the seats available in the basement, but this time I chose the counter seats on the first floor. There were no power outlets available there. The cheesecake I ordered was soft, with a firm bottom and a thick, rich flavor, which I liked. The small size was perfect for when you just want a little something to eat. The iced coffee was refreshing and enjoyable as well. I had a delicious meal that day. Thank you.

BERTH COFFEE located in Nihonbashi at citan_tokyo and berthcoffee_tokyo, is a cafe situated on the first and basement floors of the 2-star hotel citan. The first floor allows natural light in, while the basement floor offers cozy sofa seating, making it a relatively spacious cafe. With amenities like free Wi-Fi, it's also suitable for those looking for a workspace cafe! I ordered an Iced Coffee for ¥450. For more details, you can visit their Tabelog page.

During the daytime, the recommended area is the basement floor. The sunlight coming in from above ground illuminates the open space beautifully. The sofas are perfect for relaxing. There are quite a few foreigners, and it seems popular for business meetings. Many people were working on their laptops. The space is quite large and has a comfortable atmosphere where you can stay for hours. ◎

This place is located between Bakuro-yokoyama and Koedenmachi, along the old Nikko Highway. It was the day of the Oedo Wholesale Festival, so I headed to Bakurocho early in the morning! Since there weren't many items for men, I decided to go cafe hopping by myself. The official website mentioned a coffee stand on the first floor of Hostel CITAN, so I thought it would be a small shop with a terrace seat. But when I went downstairs, I found a spacious cafe bar space! It was quite a big cafe bar! It was quite hot, so I thought hot coffee might be too much, but then I saw they had Nitro on the menu! So, I decided to go for Nitro. Going downstairs, I found a bar counter, pentagonal tables, and even a sofa corner in a stylish and open wooden space. Since it was early morning, I was lucky to get a seat on the sofa (lucky me). This place is wonderful! The stylish cafe space underground reminds me of Coin, but with a more American taste? It feels like the terrace of THE DECK COFFEE just went underground. I really like this kind of space. I definitely want to come back!

There is a trendy café in a truly downtown area near Azumabashi. Lately, these kinds of cafes have been increasing on the east side of Tokyo. I was drawn in and ordered coffee and cheesecake. The coffee wasn't freshly brewed, but poured from a pre-made batch in front of me, which slightly lowered my excitement. The cheesecake was decent. If you're looking for a place with a nice atmosphere to relax and unwind, rather than seeking high-quality coffee, this is a good spot.

I stopped by to kill time. I had an iced coffee and stayed for about 2 hours. The atmosphere on the basement floor was calm, the sofa was comfortable, and I didn't feel tired even after a long stay. (The music volume increases at night, but it wasn't unpleasant.) This time I only had drinks, but next time I want to try the food.

I felt like stopping by a cafe and visited around 1:00 pm on the weekend. I had passed by this shop many times before and was curious, but never had the chance to visit due to timing or crowds, so this was my first time. I ordered at the counter on the first floor and was told there is a one-hour time limit regardless of how crowded it is. Since it was hot outside, I decided to go to the spacious basement area. The staff here seemed a bit aloof or maybe more like they had a minimalistic approach to service. When ordering at the counter, they would sometimes walk away or seem preoccupied with cleaning up the basement or checking the restroom, showing that they provide basic service but not going above and beyond. In the basement, despite it being the weekend, most people were working on their Mac laptops. There were several large sofa seats that could fit 6 people, but they were all occupied by individuals, which seemed a bit wasteful to me. I had the Spiced Carrot Cake and Ice Chocolate Milk, while my husband had the New York Cheesecake and Drip Coffee from Colombia. The Spiced Carrot Cake was delicious with plenty of big nuts in it. The Ice Chocolate Milk was rich and tasty. The New York Cheesecake was moist and not too sweet, also very enjoyable. Even though there is a one-hour time limit, the vibe of this place makes you want to work. The sweets and drinks were delicious, so I would like to visit again when I want to spend time alone or need to kill time before an appointment.

Located in a wholesale district, this café on the ground floor of a nearby hotel is a lovely spot for breakfast. When I visited, there were surprisingly many foreign customers, even though it's part of the hotel. The café has terrace seating and counter seating on the ground floor, as well as sofa seating in the basement, providing a spacious and cozy atmosphere. Upon arrival, you order your drink near the entrance on the ground floor, then head downstairs with a number tag to find a seat. The café has a great vibe, and the iced coffee I ordered had a fruity acidity that was delightful. And when my spring vegetable morning plate arrived, my excitement peaked. The only downside is that drinks are not included in the morning set, so they are charged separately. Overall, this hidden gem of a café is a perfect place to relax, especially for a leisurely morning meal.

I had some time before my next meeting, so I stopped by this shop on a whim. While chain coffee shops are nice, I find these kinds of shops run by young people to be stimulating and fun ☺️ The spacious and stylish interior was very inviting, and there were sofa seats downstairs, which made for a cozy atmosphere with few customers. I had an iced coffee (size R) for 450 yen, which was from Ethiopia and had a slight acidity that was perfect for this season. The chocolate chip cookie for 300 yen had a salty and bitter taste, making it just the right size for a snack at 3 o'clock. It was really good♪ Thank you for the meal‍! 【Name】BERTH COFFEE 【Address】15-2 Nihonbashi Dendemachi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 【Access】5-minute walk from Toei Shinjuku Line "Bakuro-yokoyama" station, 5-minute walk from Hibiya Line "Kodenmacho" station, 7-minute walk from Asakusa Line "Higashi-nihonbashi" station 【Hours】 [Mon-Fri] 8:00-19:00 (L.O) [Sat-Sun & Holidays] 8:00-19:00 (L.O) 【Closed】Irregular holidays 【Seats】50 seats (terrace seating available) 【Private Room】None 【Reservation】Not available 【Tabelog Rating】3.57 (as of June 2023)

I had breakfast at BERTH COFFEE in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. I wanted to eat on the terrace but it was full, so I ate downstairs. It's a place that's easy to enter even if you're alone! There were a lot of vegetables, which was nice! The morning set was around 1600 yen, and the coffee was about 500 yen. It's a bit expensive, but it's a treat. Rating: ⭐️5⭐️ I want to go there often. Popular among foreign visitors to Japan, the designer hotel "CITAN" is located in the trendy area of Nihonbashi Odenmacho. Attached to the hotel is a stylish café where I decided to try their breakfast menu. I ordered the "Pizza Toast / 790 yen" and "Iced Coffee / 450 yen", totaling 1,240 yen. It's a bit pricey as the drinks are not included in the set. The presentation of the pizza toast was stunning, with a colorful mini salad on the side. The toast itself was delicious, with a crispy crust and rich cheese. The romaine lettuce was fresh and vibrant, making for a perfect morning meal. The iced coffee had a unique aroma and depth of flavor, complementing the dish well. The staff, despite the chic atmosphere, were friendly and created a warm ambiance. The café seemed to be popular among foreign customers, perhaps due to its reputation.

A stylish cafe near Machiya Station, about a 5-minute walk from Kodemmacho Station. The open terrace was bustling from early morning. There were many foreign customers, and the multilingual staff provided excellent service. We ordered pizza toast and cafe latte, and also got banana bread to go. My friend ordered the morning vegetable plate and iced coffee. There were a few seats on the 1st floor, but we chose to go downstairs where there were more seats. The underground area had a bar-like interior, very stylish and cozy with a slightly dim atmosphere. The cafe latte and iced coffee had a unique flavor that was a bit unusual at first but we got used to it. The pizza toast was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, with just the right amount of seasoning. It was a relaxing and pleasant space. The banana bread had lots of nuts and was not too sweet. I also want to try the anko canele next time.
