The pork back fat and green onion soy sauce ramen is delicious with a peppery kick, but it didn't quite live up to my previous memories. The price has also gone up, so the value for money has decreased. I'm not sure if it's because the chashu was dry or if the soup was a bit weak, but something felt lacking. It was a bit of a letdown.

I visited around 3:00 PM on March 19, 2023. The restaurant was almost full, but I was able to get a seat as a group left. I ordered ramen with firm noodles and extra green onions. The service was quick, and the soup was rich with a slight hint of complexity. I'm not sure if this is the same taste as the main branch, so I might have to try it there. The texture of the noodles was good, and I liked that there were plenty of green onions. They had a good selection of alcohol, so it seems like it could be a good place for drinks in the evening.

Last year, a ramen shop opened in Nishitsutsuji! I went there a few times, but every time I went, it was closed! On Sunday, January 29th, we decided to go eat ramen in Yamashina, so we went to Daiho-san! It was open⸜(*ˊᗜˋ*)⸝ I had the chashu ramen and karaage (small), my wife had the salt ramen, and my daughter had regular ramen. It had a Kyoto ramen vibe. The soup was slightly spicy. The noodles were normal. The chashu had a hint of star anise flavor. The karaage was crispy! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

I chose the Char Siu Ramen (950 yen) and what came out was a bowl filled with Char Siu. The chicken and pork bone soup was nostalgic and comforting. The Char Siu slices were large and satisfying to eat. I might stop by again casually...

A new ramen shop has opened in Shichijo, offering the same delicious taste and menu as the main store in Ukaru. The soup is delicious, the medium-thin noodles are great, and the large char siu with 10 slices on the Char Siu Ramen for 950 yen is quite reasonable! The lunch menu, which includes two large fried chicken pieces and rice for an additional 200 yen, is also a great deal! I definitely want to come back to try other menu items.

It's nice to have a ramen shop with just one counter seat. It's located next to the east side, at number 3. The ramen costs 720 yen and it has the familiar Kyoto standard style with plenty of pork fat. The black pepper is already added when served. Personally, I might want to add more later. It's nice to have 3 slices of chashu for 720 yen. The gyoza costs 310 yen and they have a strong garlic flavor, similar to something I've had somewhere before. The taste has a punch to it, so it's good to have it as a side dish while enjoying beer. Students might get a discount or something, so it's recommended! I think there might be a free refill option, but I can't remember, sorry. The owner seems to prefer side menu items, so I might try those next time!

I finally got to visit Daipao in Naritsune! I used to enjoy the maze-soba at the Gojo location, but unfortunately it's not available yet at the Naritsune shop. (They mentioned it might be available in the future... looking forward to it!) Today I had ramen. It was a satisfying bowl.

On this day, due to temporary work, lunch was delayed. On the way home after finishing work, feeling hungry, I remembered that this restaurant had opened last month and decided to stop by around 3:40 PM. The retro feel of the building where the restaurant is located, called "Yoshikawa Second Housing," is strong with a Showa era vibe. Inside the restaurant, there are about 11 counter seats surrounding the kitchen. The menu with photos of the items has many blank spaces. On the other hand, there are three limited quantity "Suj" related menu items. For customizing ramen, you can choose the presence of raw garlic, noodle firmness, and amount of green onions. There is no mention of the richness of the soup or the amount of sauce. This time, I ordered the "ramen" without any customization, just the full normal version. Surprisingly, it was ready quite quickly. The noodles are relatively firm even in the default setting. The tea-colored soup seemed to have a strong saltiness and oiliness at first, but as I ate more, it didn't feel that strong. The "kaori" (aroma) was quite lacking. Although the shop advertises as "pork bone soy sauce," I wonder how they make the pork bone soup? This shop does not have its own parking lot, but there is a discount supermarket "Sunday" nearby, where you can park for free for 30 minutes with a purchase. Additionally, they offer a time-based parking fee of 200 yen for 30 minutes from 8:00 to 20:00, making it quite convenient to visit by car.

I visited this newly opened restaurant on July 28th as I finished work early. The restaurant has a clean and bright interior with only counter seats for 11 people. The menu is the same as the main store, but the maze-soba series is not available. This time, I ordered the "Ramen" (720 yen) with no garlic, firm noodles, and extra green onions. The bowl came with chashu, menma, and plenty of green onions, topped with a generous amount of back fat. The soup has a rich flavor from chicken and pork bones, with the back fat adding a creamy richness and a hint of spiciness from the chili pepper. The noodles are low-hydration straight thin noodles cooked firm, providing a satisfying chewiness that complements the soup well. The chashu is made with lean pork belly, enhancing the flavor of the soup. Overall, it was a delicious soy sauce ramen popular in Kyoto made from a broth of chicken and pork bones with added back fat.

"New Daiho Shikitsuchi Store: Daiho Ramen, which follows the lineage of Daio Ramen at Karasuma Rokkaku, has arrived at Shikitsuchi. I ordered the Suji Ramen and it brought back nostalgic memories of the old Taoya-san. When I took a bite, I found it quite oily. I wonder if they put chicken oil in the pork bone soup? Those who are interested should go try it out. The Suji Ramen looks very red, but even though I'm not good with spiciness, I could still handle the level of spiciness. There is almost no spiciness."
