I visited Miyako Shokudo after a long time. I arrived a little after 12 o'clock, but there were empty seats so I was able to enter immediately. I was unsure of what to order today, but after looking at the daily Miyako set menu, I decided to go with the Miyako set meal again. Today's menu was tonkatsu (with curry sauce) and omelette (with yakisoba). It arrived after a while. The small dish also included simmered pumpkin. The rice was normal size but I ordered a large portion. It was delicious. It feels calming. After the meal, I ordered an iced coffee with fresh cream. It was delicious again today. I visited Miyako Shokudo for the first time based on a friend's recommendation. I went on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm and there was only one group inside the restaurant. I ordered the Miyako set meal which came with shrimp fry and chicken teriyaki as the daily specials for 850 yen. You can upgrade to miso soup for an additional 150 yen, but I opted for the regular miso soup this time since I wasn't sure about the portion size. The meal included 3 pieces of chicken and 2 shrimp fries, which made me happy as I love shrimp. There was also cold tofu and miso soup. The rice came in a large bowl. The shrimp fry was crispy and came with plenty of tartar sauce. The chicken was sweet and savory, perfect with the rice. The sweet and savory onions and shiitake mushrooms were also delicious. The seasoning on the table added a nice touch of a typical Japanese diner. However, the rice portion was quite large, so I will ask for a smaller portion next time. They only offer sweetened coffee, no black coffee. The interior of the restaurant looked very clean, perhaps recently renovated. It's a great place to enjoy affordable set meals. Today I visited around 1:30 pm. I was prepared to go to another restaurant if there was a long line, but I was able to enter right away without any wait. I was thinking of getting the sashimi set, but it was not available, so I ordered the daily special set meal, the Miyako Set Meal (850 yen). Today's set meal included meat and potato stew and minced stuffed shishito peppers. The stew tasted homemade and the shishito peppers were larger than I expected, providing a satisfying portion. There was also a salad with grated yam. I enjoyed everything and the rice was delicious. I finished the meal with an iced coffee. Once again, it was a delightful dining experience. Miyako set meal offers the best cost performance. For 850 yen, you get plenty of vegetables, meat, and protein, making you feel full. Coffee is also included, so I am very satisfied. I came to Miyako Shokudo again this week. Today, I arrived at the restaurant before it opened. There were already a few people waiting for the opening. As soon as the shutter opened, I entered and took a seat. Today, I ordered the sashimi set meal (1,050 yen). When asked if I wanted only tuna sashimi or both tuna and octopus, I chose only tuna. For the side dish, you can choose one from the daily Miyako set meal, so I chose the chicken cutlet with grated ponzu sauce. The tuna sashimi was thick and delicious, and the chicken cutlet was also tasty. I just realized that coffee was included, but I forgot to order it, haha. I was planning to drink iced coffee. I visited for the first time before 11:30 am. The interior of the restaurant was bright and clean. It seemed to be a popular spot as almost 30 seats were quickly filled. There was a wide variety of dishes, all with generous portions. The flavors were nostalgic and comforting. The set meals even come with coffee, which is nice. There is a parking lot next to the restaurant and another one diagonally across, with space for 12 cars.

Today, I was thinking of going somewhere to eat by car, but unfortunately the car was being used so I ended up visiting Miyako Shokudo for the second day in a row. I was planning to have a set meal today, but the Miyako set meal consisted of tonkatsu and tamagoyaki, so I ordered the Miyako set meal. After a while, the Miyako set meal arrived. It came with tonkatsu, tamagoyaki, and vegetable tempura. The tonkatsu was just the right thickness, not too thin, with a good balance of lean meat and fat, making it delicious. The tamagoyaki had a rich dashi flavor and was filled with ingredients, making it exceptionally tasty. The tempura already had Worcestershire sauce drizzled on it. In Kansai, it is probably common to eat tempura with sauce. The rice portion was generous. There was furikake on the table. For dessert, I had iced coffee. When asked if I wanted it freshly brewed, I requested it fresh. The iced coffee is already sweetened, so I assume they do not have black coffee. Of course, hot coffee is also available. Miyako Shokudo offers a consistently delicious meal and provides a calming atmosphere. Thank you for the meal.

The service set meal allows you to choose from udon and rice bowl, fried rice, or omurice for 1,000 yen. It's a dining spot where you can fill up your stomach!

The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, just like a traditional set meal place! When we arrived after 12 o'clock, it was almost full. Everyone was watching TV and it was lively! I checked out the post by my reviewer tokarico and decided to order the Curry Ramen Set ☆! The curry ramen had a nice kick to it and was delicious! The fried rice was a bit bland... the curry ramen stole the show. After the meal, I ordered an iced coffee (comes with the set meal) and it was so comforting and tasty! I wanted more of it. I passed by Miyako Shokudo in Yamashina after a long time and saw that it had reopened, so I decided to go in and try it out. I ordered the Kitsune soba set for 880 yen. The table next to me ordered a large portion of rice, but I decided to stick with the regular size. The set came with salad, a hamburger with a soft-boiled egg, Kitsune soba, and a rice bowl. It was a strange combination that made me think there was a mix-up with the orders. The portions were huge, with both the soba set and the hamburger set being served together. I started to feel full halfway through and had to slow down, but I managed to finish everything. It was delicious, but I don't think I can eat anymore today.

It's a retro-style diner that everyone knows about. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that this is my first visit here. Despite being a local diner, they have 12 parking spaces! Amazing! They have tables and a raised seating area in the back. There's a big TV and some manga books. They offer a wide variety of set meals, making it hard to choose. I went with the "Sashimi Set Meal" for 880 yen, which includes a side dish of the day, rice, miso soup, sashimi, and coffee. They said the sashimi today is maguro. I'm happy with that! I also ordered the "Nikujaga (with Onsen Tamago)" from the side dish menu. It was delicious, like a home-cooked meal. The regulars who came in later immediately checked the board for the daily specials. It felt like a place where you could say "I'm home" when entering. They offer continuous service with the parking spaces, no wonder it's so popular!

The daily set meals are plentiful and it's a good restaurant for everyday use.

The parent-child bowl is pretty ordinary but the portion size is large... The udon broth is decently tasty.

The customer base is overwhelmingly middle-aged men. Whether it's dinner or lunch, the probability of encountering taxi drivers is also high! They also serve coffee after meals. A paradise for middle-aged men!

This is a restaurant that my senior took me to, and it was just a normal meal place. The food was delicious! It's a bit far from where I live, but if I happen to be nearby during lunchtime, I hope I can go again!
