Mixing in the chili oil adds a nice kick, and adding the black vinegar on the table allows for easy flavor variation. The free upsizing option is a nice bonus as the portion size is quite generous. The dish has a noticeable amount of cilantro, making it a must-try for cilantro lovers. 【Experience】 Located near the Nijo Castle facing a shopping street, this beef noodle shop is situated in front of a park. I visited around 2-3 PM, and they seemed quite busy that day as they were still preparing. When I asked how long it would take for the next batch of noodles to be ready, they said about 30 minutes. The wait was definitely worth it as the noodles were delicious. As an apology for the wait, they served a stir-fried dish of wood ear mushrooms, chili peppers, and green peppers, which was also excellent. I would consider ordering it separately next time. The service was also excellent, with the staff quickly providing paper aprons for spill prevention and promptly offering water. The payment method was simple (there is a user-friendly ticket machine at the entrance), which was convenient. The store has plenty of table seating available.

Visited "Kanran Beef Noodle" for the first time in the bustling shopping street. The menu is accessed through a QR code for ordering. I tried the default Kanran beef noodle and was impressed by the hand-pulled noodles made fresh after ordering. The soup was flavorful yet light, and the noodles had a chewy texture that I enjoyed. The beef was average, but overall, I found the dish delicious. I added chili oil and vinegar for extra flavor. Looking forward to trying a different dish next time.

I found it while wandering around (՞. ̫ .՞) They had a system where you buy your meal ticket before taking a seat (՞. ̫ .՞) The noodles had a great texture (՞. ̫ .՞) At first, I thought the daikon topping was strange, but it surprisingly worked well (՞. ̫ .՞) The chashu was incredibly tender and delicious (՞. ̫ .՞) There were a lot of foreigners there, and I started to worry if they thought this was what Japanese ramen is like (´ . .̫ . `) I also ordered gyoza, which was incredibly tasty (՞. ̫ .՞) I'm grateful that I could choose not to have cilantro, as I don't like it (՞. ̫ .՞)

In a quiet atmosphere with many stylish shops, this ramen shop is located in the Sanjo shopping street. I tried the Ganlan beef noodles and gyoza. There are 6 types of noodles to choose from, and I chose the most popular thin noodles. The noodles were very smooth and had a refreshing texture, and the ramen soup was not as spicy as it looked and was easy to drink. The gyoza was also surprisingly cost-effective at around 100 yen. The shop was clean, and I have found another ramen shop that I want to visit again.

The taste is quite authentic, and the meat is thicker and more delicious than in the original country. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also good, and I like it. However, recently there is an additional charge for extra large portions, and even with the extra portion, it's still a bit lacking, so I'll give it 4.5 stars.

I visited around 17:20 on Saturday. There were two customers already there. I ordered the Spicy Orchid Beef Noodles for 890 yen, choosing thin noodles. The noodles were easy to eat with a good texture and delicious taste. I selected a normal amount of cilantro and chili oil, but since I like cilantro, I might have preferred a bit more. They opened earlier than 17:30, which was very helpful.

I thought it was my first visit to a ramen shop, but it was more like noodles served in China or Southeast Asia. It was quite different from what I imagined as ramen, but it was really delicious, so I will definitely come back! Thank you for the meal!

I ended the weekend by visiting "Amaranth Beef Noodle Kyoto Sanjo Store" in Sanjo Shotengai. I had been stood up last week, so today is my chance for revenge. You can customize your order at this restaurant by filling out an order sheet and handing it to the staff. I ordered the "Amaranth Beef Noodle" with extra meat (though it was a bit on the smaller side at 150g), no cilantro, and regular spicy oil. The staff were mostly Asian, as were most of the customers. While observing this, my bowl of noodles arrived. First, I tried the soup, which had a gentle flavor of salt and chicken, with a sharp edge from the spicy oil. The noodles were straight noodles, topped with beef, daikon, and chopped green onions. Although "Amaranth Beef Noodle" is categorized as a type of "Lanzhou Ramen," my impression after eating it was that it felt more like Korean cuisine. Thank you for the meal.

In Kyoto, there is a growing number of shops offering "Lanzhou Ramen (Lanzhou Beef Noodles)" secretly. One of them is the second branch of "Kanran Beef Noodles," with its main store located in Tanimachi 9-chome, Osaka, which has opened in the Sanjo Kai Shotengai shopping street in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto. The noodles are hand-pulled after receiving the order, following the Lanzhou ramen style. There are 6 types of noodles to choose from: Maosi (extra-thin noodles), Xi (thin noodles), Aishi (medium-thick noodles), Chaomailen (triangular noodles), Juyie (flat noodles), and Kuang (thick flat noodles), and you can choose the noodle portion size from regular, large, and extra-large, all at the same price. The "Kanran Beef Noodles" (890 yen) is made with a broth from beef bones and about 20 types of spices added. It comes with sliced beef, simmered daikon radish, cilantro, and garlic leaves as toppings. The clear soup gradually spreads with flavors of chili oil and special soy sauce, creating a taste that is truly addictive.

This restaurant, which opened on July 28th in Sanjo Kai Shotengai, was already full when I arrived a little after opening time. I was asked to fill out an order sheet at a table, so I chose the "Sweet Orchid Beef Noodles" (790 yen) with extra noodles, thin noodles, no cilantro, regular scallions, and extra chili oil. The bowl came with chopped green onions, daikon radish, beef, and chili oil on top, and the soup had a clear color with little cloudiness. When I tried the soup without mixing in the chili oil, it had a gentle taste of beef bones. After adding the chili oil and trying it again, it became spicy with a tingling sensation and a spread of spicy fragrance. The thin noodles were slightly soft and easy to slurp, with a nice texture due to being hand-pulled. The tenderly cooked beef had a melt-in-your-mouth texture that was delicious. Even though I asked for no cilantro, there was a faint cilantro aroma remaining, which was a bit disappointing for me as I don't like cilantro, but for cilantro lovers, they can even ask for more, which could be a good option.

I visited around 17:05. The night session started at 17:00 and there were already about 8 people inside the restaurant. I lined up behind 2 people who were waiting for the limited 15 free bowls of ramen. The beef noodle soup was delicious, with a nourishing and soothing broth. The chili oil was also tasty, but the soup itself was great even without it. I chose the recommended thin noodles, which had a perfect texture. The cilantro was just right, not too overpowering. There was also leaf garlic in the dish, which added a nice flavor. The daikon radish was also delicious, I wanted more of it so I'll try ordering it as a side dish next time.

I visited the restaurant on Thursday, July 29th at 6 pm. There was a board outside where you write your name. You have to write your order for beef noodles on a sheet and hand it in. The taste is light and the texture of the noodles is good. The dish is characterized by daikon. Mixing in chili oil adds a different flavor. It's quite delicious! It falls under the category of ramen, but it has a very distinctive taste.

I ordered the classic beef noodles since it was my first time. It had a light salty taste, with a hint of garlic maybe? I was curious about the aroma. As I was leaving, I noticed a picture in the restaurant and realized that it didn't have chili oil on it. The restaurant was not busy, so I wish they had at least served what should have been included.
