About 2 and a half months since my last visit. This time, I got off at Sakurashinmachi Station on my way home from work, not for any particular reason but to visit this place. I arrived at the shop about an hour earlier than last time, but the days were noticeably shorter and it was raining heavily, making the dimly lit interior even darker than before. The number of customers was about the same as last time, but unlike last time, the right side from the entrance was empty, so I placed my belongings in the middle of the empty right side table and headed to the counter. Last time, I only ordered coffee, but this time I wanted to try the sweets at this shop, so I first looked at the dessert menu. Among the 11 options, I chose the matcha and white kidney bean tiramisu for 800 yen (tax included). It was 100 yen off when ordered as a set with a drink. Next, the drink. I was planning to go for a single origin straight coffee again, but I wanted something different from the Ethiopian TadeGG Natural I had last time, so I consulted with the female staff member and decided to go for the Indonesia Woman Isaac Orangutan Coffee with Aeropress for 690 yen (tax included). For reference, when I asked why the pour-over was significantly more expensive than the Aeropress, I was told that the pour-over is double the amount of coffee compared to the Aeropress. However, the brewing method and taste of pour-over and Aeropress are different, so strictly speaking, one pour-over may not be equivalent to two Aeropress. I forgot to ask about this, so I will definitely inquire about it on my next visit. After paying at the counter, I returned to my seat and the coffee arrived in about 7 minutes, followed by the dessert 2 minutes later. The Indonesia Woman Isaac coffee had a similar acidity to the Ethiopian TadeGG Natural I had last time, but with a stronger body. The tiramisu with matcha and white kidney bean was a delightful fusion of Japanese and Western flavors, with white kidney beans adding a nice touch to the fluffy tiramisu base, complemented by matcha powder, lemon oil, and small edible white flower buds. The taste and texture were excellent, and the portion size was generous for 800 yen. I enjoyed my time savoring the dessert while waiting for the rain to stop. This visit made me realize that not only the coffee but also the quality of the sweets is high at this place.
