The beef bowl (700 yen) at this tekkaba place is really something. It comes out in just 2 seconds when you order it solo. The rice is piping hot and delicious. It's a bit tough to finish the large portion though! You can't really customize it since it's already made, so it's a bit wasteful to leave any behind.

Today, I attended the Mile Championship to determine the strongest mile king at the Kyoto Racecourse. Starting with the first race, I headed straight to Yoshinoya for breakfast.
- Beef bowl (large size): 550 yen
The Kyoto Racecourse branch only serves large size bowls! Real men go for the large size! I bought it and returned to my seat in the stands. It's already November and the weather is bad, so it's quite cold. Eating the beef bowl in such cold weather was warm and incredibly delicious! I devoured it quickly. It was the first time I had such a delicious beef bowl. The broth was generous and the flavor soaked into the rice, making it tasty. But it didn't warm my lonely wallet... (laughs) Thank you for the meal.

Today, we have live coverage from Kyoto Racecourse! The main lunch is Yoshinoya's beef bowl ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ The main race is the Queen Elizabeth II Cup ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ Hmm... At the racecourse, there is a fast-eating competition at Yoshinoya, where the beef bowl never stops coming (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))-- At the race, the horses never stop running, unlike the beef bowl that mysteriously stops (laughs) At the racecourse, there are always winning bets on the horses that never stop (laughs) Awesome, awesome, awesome (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))-- Here's a haiku for you: Yoshinoya always crowded at the racecourse, makes you crave it σ(^_^;) Good job! It's just so delicious and fast, that's why (laughs)

At this age, my first time at the horse racing track! Since there were no races at Kyoto Racecourse on that day, I placed my bets on races in Fukushima, Chukyo, and Hakodate. First, I had to grab some food. On race days, the restaurants are usually more crowded, but since there were no races that day, I headed to the food court. I was curious about the beef bowl at the racecourse, as there were stories about being able to eat it even when other places stopped serving it. So, I ordered a large beef bowl for 550 yen. They also had eel bowls, miso soup, and soft-boiled eggs. The prices were reasonable, and the beef bowls were lined up under the counter, ready to be served one after another. Be careful of the older gentlemen cutting in line due to the location. Despite enjoying the familiar beef bowl, I ended up losing all my bets.

There are surprisingly few people who combine horse racing and food reviews, it seems. I visited the Yoshinoya at Kyoto Racecourse, which has been around for a long time, during the Kyoto Shimbun Cup on May 4, 2013 with a friend. I always go to buy after the third race. There is always a long line after the fourth race. The beef bowl bento (large size) costs 440 yen. They only sell beef bowl bento (large size) here. You can also have extra broth. The taste is just the usual Yoshinoya. In 2004, when the BSE issue occurred with US beef, beef bowls disappeared from shops in town, but this shop continued to sell beef bowls using domestic or Australian beef, and there was a huge line. I went to eat there at that time as well. It's a nostalgic memory now.

Kyoto Racecourse has a large site, and in recent years, with the relocation of the Yodo Station on the Keihan line right next to the racecourse, there are no longer opportunities to pass by local bars or other establishments. The Spring Tenno Sho (Emperor's Cup) is held at Kyoto Racecourse, and predicting the races from the day before and on the day itself requires a lot of physical stamina as you move back and forth between the paddock and the track from the morning races. In addition, there is a short lunch break of less than an hour, so there is not much time to relax. Thank you Yoshinoya for providing quick, affordable, and delicious food.
