After hearing that the renovated bento shop, Sada Taiwan, had made a comeback, I went to check it out. For 1100 yen, you get Sada Taiwan with fried chicken. The interior is small, but you can eat in at the beer case tables. The Sada Taiwan was as delicious as ever, and I couldn't help but laugh a little when I saw the fried chicken directly on top of the rice.

Yesterday, I went to Kyoto for a little bit. After completing a mission from morning till night, like LION-chan, I came to eat here. When I saw the website, I only thought it was just an outrageous Chinese restaurant, but when I actually went in, it was a clean and tidy place. It's located next to the entrance of Kyoto Pharmaceutical University, with a parking lot for three cars. What a great place! There was a menu item called "Plate Taiwan," which is like a soup-less Taiwanese ramen. I ordered it as a set with fried rice. The fried rice was fluffy and each grain of rice had a nice oily coating, allowing you to fully enjoy the flavor of the oil. The Plate Taiwan was made by mixing boiled Chinese noodles with a spicy sauce, then stir-frying them with bean sprouts on top. The crunchy bean sprouts increased my appetite. I tried mixing the mustard miso on the table into the small amount of soup, and the flavor became richer. It was really delicious. In the past, I asked a friend who eats ramen at an incredible speed how he can breathe, and he replied, "Because I have a nose!" I feel like I could eat this dish at an outrageous speed because I have a nose. By the way, my friend had the Plate Taiwan with fried chicken on top, which was quite a violent fried chicken. After regaining my composure, I was able to drive back to Osaka. Thank you for the meal! #Gyoza no Asahi #Plate Taiwan #Yamashina Ramen #Soup-less Ramen

I stopped by on a whim because I didn't have dinner. I ordered a dish called "Taiwan Plate," which is stir-fried bean sprouts with noodles underneath, with a Taiwanese-style seasoning. It would have been perfect if the restaurant was a little cleaner! The way the husband and wife's argument turned into a completely different attitude towards the customers was really funny to watch.

My partner and I went on a wandering trip to Kyoto and suddenly felt like eating Chinese food, so we did some research and found Asahi. We went there right away. We were guided through the narrow streets by navigation and arrived safely. We parked our car in the parking lot and entered the restaurant. I ordered sweet and sour pork set meal, while my partner ordered fried chicken set meal and dumplings. It seems like dumplings are becoming a must-order item. The food was served shortly and we enjoyed it. I could feel the owner's dedication in the taste, it was really delicious! I felt like having a draft beer, but I couldn't because I had to drive. I would like to visit this Chinese restaurant again when I go to Kyoto. Thank you, Asahi, for the wonderful meal!

During the day, the restaurant serves mainly curry, while at night it switches to a Chinese cuisine focus. The staff, likely a husband and wife team, provide excellent customer service just like when it was a Vietnamese ramen shop. The ventilation system is still weak, as before. I ordered the Chinese soba and gyoza. The Chinese soba, usually priced at ¥600, was on a limited time offer for ¥450. The gyoza cost ¥280. The Chinese soba was more delicious than the normal ramen served when it was a Vietnamese ramen shop, which was extremely light. The gyoza had a taste similar to Gyoza no Ohsho, in a good way. I also tried dishes like Tianjin rice and Kao Niu Rou when it was a Vietnamese ramen shop, and they were twice as delicious as Gyoza no Ohsho, so I highly recommend trying the Chinese menu!

It's a shift from Betokon Ramen. The staff at the restaurant is still the same friendly couple. I thought they would recommend curry udon, but it seems not. They offer tonkatsu, karaage, udon, soba, curry, Taiwanese dishes, and more. From lunch sets to this "Taiwanese Don Set," you can choose between udon or soba for noodles. Why no ramen though? The donburi has a nice Taiwanese touch! I haven't been there, but the seasoned minced meat is tasty. The Taiwanese flavors are so strong that it's hard to taste the light Japanese soba, but it could be a good option when opinions on what to eat are divided!

Yesterday was my wife's birthday, so I decided to visit a nearby restaurant and have a few drinks to celebrate. The next morning, feeling a bit hungover, I decided to go to a restaurant called Asahi that I had visited before. I ordered the Jumbo Pork Cutlet Curry, which was recommended. The curry was thick and rich, and the pork cutlet was tender and delicious. It was a satisfying meal, although the rice could have been better. The price was reasonable at 780 yen. I plan to visit again soon.
In late August, I visited a restaurant called Rice Ball located near the Gobetsu intersection on Sanjo Street. I had previously thought it was a rice ball shop, but they also served curry udon and other dishes. I ordered the Mix Curry Udon for 680 yen, which came with a complimentary rice ball. The curry udon had a traditional Japanese broth with curry powder and starch for thickness. The noodles were soft and thin, and the dish was topped with fried chicken and squid. Overall, it was a simple and satisfying meal.

I bought dinner here and brought it home. The fried rice and dumplings were delicious. The fried rice had a rich flavor and a nice crispy texture. The dumplings were frozen but tasted great after being cooked at home. They were small but packed with flavor. I would love to dine in next time since they have a parking lot available. (After all, it's the Asahi Dumplings!)

It's been a while since my last visit. My wife and I decided to come here because the beer was cheap and they had gyoza. The place seems to attract students from the pharmacy school looking for a meal. We ordered beer, gyoza, and a large portion of karaage. My wife ordered the liver and leek set meal. First, the beer arrived, followed by edamame as a side dish. The gyoza came next, and it was delicious. We should have ordered more. Then the large portion of karaage arrived, and it was a generous serving. It was juicy and flavorful, made with chilled (likely domestic) chicken thigh meat. We enjoyed it with a bit of salt and pepper. My wife's set meal also came with two pieces of karaage, making it a substantial meal. The owners, a friendly couple, run the place. It was a great meal, and we will definitely come back!
