京夏終空
Now, the back streets of Teramachi are hot! A person who returned to Kyoto after a long time starts talking, but it may already be too late. (-_-;) However, it's strange that when the back streets of Teramachi become lively, the so-called Teramachi Street, the front streets, begin to feel like the back streets. About 30 years ago, when I left Kyoto, Teramachi Street felt quite deserted compared to Shinkyogoku, another arcade street. There were hardly any shops open late, and after 8 PM, it almost felt like it would turn into a shuttered street. But in recent years, Teramachi Street has gradually become brighter. And even brighter than that is the back streets of Teramachi. As I mentioned in another review, I used to frequent this street to avoid the crowded Kawaramachi Street and Shinkyogoku, and quickly get to Vivre 21 or the used record store Beaver from Shijo Kawaramachi. Also, I was a fan of the local okonomiyaki restaurant "Koharu" that I used to frequent outside of my hometown of Uzumasa. 30 years ago, the back streets of Teramachi were just as the name suggests, a place where great stores were scattered around but not many tourists would venture, mainly a road for locals. But now, it is. Now, this place, from what my drunk memory recalls, seemed like a girls' bar. (laughs) Starting with a Premium Malt's and then a Beam Highball. Tomato slices, cabbage with salt dressing as accompaniments, and skewered cutlets to munch on. Beef skewers, pork belly, chicken breast, vegetables - eggplant is great this season. Onions and shiitake mushrooms are also good. But for some reason, I feel like I was chatting with the hostess the whole time. She was a friendly waitress. There were seating areas in the back, but standing was also an option. There were two simple chairs as well. I'll stop here before I give away too much. Oh, the skewered cutlets were delicious. I particularly liked the wasabi salt flavor. Thank you for the meal. I was also curious about the canned bar on the second floor, but maybe next time.
