Fukuchi An Ramen is rich and full of ingredients, with great cost performance. It tastes exactly the same as the main store in Fukuchiyama, with a strong pork bone flavor and a fresh aroma. The soy sauce adds depth to the broth. The thick slices of chashu have a strong presence, along with thinly sliced pork belly chashu, bamboo shoots, seaweed, bean sprouts, and other various toppings. It was a high-level pork bone soy sauce ramen.

I visited the restaurant around 1 PM on Wednesday. The place was about half full, and I bought a meal ticket before being seated at the counter. Water was self-service. I ordered the Special Thick Sweet Red Bean and Meat Plate, as well as the Soft Fried Chicken Set Ramen. The ramen came with 2 pieces of tender chashu and 5 slices of pork chashu, both were well-cooked and very delicious. The soup had a slight thickness to it, which I liked. The fried chicken had a texture similar to chicken tempura but was tasty. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at the restaurant around 8:00 pm. While I have visited the main store in Fukuchiyama before, this branch was a first for me. I purchased a meal ticket for "Fukuchi An Ramen" (800 yen) from the ticket machine and sat at an available table. The bowl was filled with chashu, seasoned egg, seaweed, bamboo shoots, chopped green onions, and the soup had a layer of pork fat floating on top. The soup was made from pork bones, chicken, vegetables, and seasoned with soy sauce, giving it a rich and savory flavor with a hint of smokiness. The homemade thin noodles had a strong wheat flavor and a good chewiness that paired well with the soup. There were two types of chashu - the pork belly chashu was flavorful but not too heavy, while the melt-in-your-mouth chashu had a rich and intense taste with tender cartilage. The seasoned egg had a creamy yolk that added to the overall deliciousness. The soup wasn't overly greasy, but the generous portion of noodles, two types of chashu, seasoned egg, bamboo shoots, and other toppings provided a satisfying meal with good value for money.

Ramen Fukuchi-an is a shop that originated from Fukuchiyama, where you purchase a meal ticket before taking a seat. I ordered the Red Spicy Special Thick Fukuchi-an Ramen with a half portion of fried chicken. The ramen comes with two types of chashu: one is diced and melt-in-your-mouth collagen-rich chashu, and the other is thinly sliced pork belly chashu. The noodles are thin, and the bamboo shoots are thin and wrinkled. The fried chicken has a crispy tempura-like coating with a refreshing ponzu and green onion topping.

I ordered soy sauce ramen for 780 yen with a free seasoned egg. It was described as light on the menu, but it was actually quite rich with a lot of pork bone soy sauce and fat. I made a mistake by ordering an extra seasoned egg because the ramen already came with one.

Located at the intersection of Horikawa Street and Oike Street, Horikawa Oike is a ramen shop in a busy area. I visited at an odd time and the staff were polite. The chashu was huge and made the impression that there were a lot of toppings. It seems like they put a lot of effort into the soup. The noodles were thin, similar to the common Hakata style thin noodles.

I visited around 19:10 on Saturday. The negi ramen for 930 yen has delicious soft and tender chashu. The soup is also delicious, but it is a strong ramen for an elderly stomach. I started to feel a heaviness in my stomach after eating about 70% of it. Perhaps the type of back fat didn't agree with me, or maybe there was something in the soup ingredients? It was delicious, but it didn't agree with my body, so I can't go back for more.

I tried the rich ramen. It was quite thick and similar to the famous shops in Kyoto known for their rich broth. The flavor was rich and became a bit overwhelming towards the end. It may be a bit monotonous in taste. It's not bad, so it's good for when you want something rich, but personally, I prefer the regular version.

A popular shop from Fukuchiyama has opened in Kyoto city. The soup made by simmering pork and chicken for over 20 hours is quite rich, but the chashu is more like a stew, very tender. I prefer chashu with a bit more meaty and moist texture.

Located at the corner just before Nijo Castle, if you head west from Sanjo to Oike Street in Kyoto, you will find this compact shop. Inside, there is a counter and tables. Buy a ticket at the entrance ticket machine before taking a seat. Here, you can enjoy ramen with a pork bone base. The slightly sweet soup may be a Kyoto specialty. They also have gyoza, which has a pleasantly ordinary taste. The cooking is done by one staff member who is very efficient. It's a good place to have a meal before an evening stroll.

This ramen is easy to eat. It doesn't have a strong personality, but that's what makes it good. The tender chashu is delicious and satisfying. I tried topping it with seaweed this time, and it was also delicious to dip the seaweed in the soup and wrap it around the rice. I've eaten it several times, but I never get tired of it, which I think is wonderful.

I visited the restaurant on Tuesday night, March 29, 2022, a little after 7 pm, and it was quite crowded inside. I ordered the Fukuchian ramen, which is a brand run by Seiyosha, who used to operate under the name "Shichifukujin" and recently rebranded as "Fukuchian." I purchased my ticket from the machine and sat at the designated counter seat. The ramen arrived quickly. The soup was a lightly cloudy and mild flavor, and the chashu was very tender. It had the distinct taste of Fukuchian. I was surprised by how many customers there were, especially since the pandemic restrictions had been lifted. The location is good, so I hope it continues to be popular. I finished my meal satisfied.
