It's unclear how long it had been since I last visited. Perhaps within the last 10 years? I requested a reservation at this restaurant and tried two different courses. I love foie gras, and it was delicious. The pizza I ordered separately at the end was also very tasty (^q^). I want to go back again next month.

The cozy bistro run by a husband and wife, known for their homemade pizza and foie gras teppanyaki, offers a set with the wife's selection of wine and cheese. This time, we enjoyed the California wine Landslide Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 and the Italian Surfing Blue cheese. The full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon went down smoothly without any discomfort. The Surfing Blue cheese, made from buffalo milk and aged with craft beer IPA in Florence, Italy, was delicious. We had a great time and delicious food. Thank you. Later, we attended a live performance by the band "Blues & Soul Night" where the master, who usually runs the foie gras shop quietly, surprised us with a sexy belly peeking out from a blue shirt as he danced and sang energetically. He used to be a professional singer, and the performance was top-notch. The audience started dancing and everyone truly enjoyed the wonderful live show.

An intimate restaurant run by a stylish husband who also plays in a band and a charming wife who is knowledgeable about wine and cheese. The foie gras teppanyaki set, which is also the restaurant's namesake, is delicious. The pickles, homemade pizza, cheese, and wine recommended by the wife are also tasty. This time, I tried the lamb steak for the first time. It's not greasy, but the meat is tender and flavorful yet refreshing. There are always so many things I want to eat, so I hadn't ordered this dish before, but I think I'll order it every time from now on. If you mention in advance when making a reservation or on the day of your visit that you would like to order the lamb steak, they will be able to provide it in the best condition possible! Thank you for another delightful experience today.

Hello everyone! Recently, I've been getting recognized by fans on the streets, so thank you all for your support! I am the ultimate foodie known as the Foodie Goddess (Oh yeah! Oh yeah! LOL). Here's a haiku for you: "Drinking up the ramen broth, that's me." Ah yeah! Ah yeah! Ah yeah yeah yeah! Ramen squad, ramen squad, that's right! So today, I visited a restaurant that serves foie gras (just like a pro LOL). Hmm, foie gras goes well with wine, but this place serves wine in a carton? They know my taste well, huh? Could it be that they are my fans (Oh yeah! Oh yeah! LOL)? From now on, let's start a Foie Gras Squad! Here's another haiku: "Eating rare chashu ramen, upset stomach." Ah yeah! Ah yeah! Ah yeah yeah yeah! Ramen squad, ramen squad, let's go again (like Tarachan LOL).

This time, I had a delicious dish of freshly picked bamboo shoots and foie gras grilled on a ceramic plate. The small size of the restaurant adds to its cozy atmosphere. The amount of foie gras was just right. The pilaf that came later was also delicious with a nice aroma.

According to the lovey-dovey couple, this restaurant is very cozy and affordable. Their signature dish, foie gras teppanyaki set, is delicious. The husband makes the pizza dough from scratch every morning, and it is also very tasty. For wine selection, you can leave it to the knowledgeable wife. The pickles she serves are delicious too. I tried the cheese platter with Goriaro from Piedmont for the first time, and I really liked it. I recommend trying a little bit of food with wine.

My partner and I were walking around Kyoto city in the rain when we stumbled upon this foie gras restaurant sign. At first, we were a bit skeptical due to its mysterious vibe, but after looking it up on Tabelog, we decided it was worth a visit. That evening, we went there and ordered the 12,000 yen course for two people. It used to be 9,800 yen, but it seems like the price has gone up! However, it was definitely worth it! This time, we added the Kyoto-grown bamboo shoot for an extra 700 yen per person, which is only available during this season. The course included foie gras pate, foie gras salad, foie gras teppanyaki, foie gras pie, foie gras pilaf, and dessert. The flavors were exceptional! The foie gras had no unpleasant odor, and despite being used in almost every dish, the preparation was so varied that it didn't get boring. The teppanyaki was particularly delicious! The tender foie gras with a sweet and savory soy sauce flavor was amazing. The pilaf was also interesting. It was cooked on the leftover fat from the teppanyaki, and even though it didn't contain any actual foie gras, it was surprisingly delicious. The only downside was the lack of atmosphere in the restaurant. It may be because it's a small place or because it was raining that day, but it felt a bit dull. But overall, I recommend giving it a try at least once! Enjoy ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆

By chance, stumbled upon a foie gras shop while passing by. A foie gras specialty store? How interesting... I decided to peek inside. Only a counter. Some regulars and a lady were chatting. Was it awkward to enter? Just as I was hesitating, a tipsy... I mean, a lady enjoying her drink, opened the door and said, "The food here is delicious. Come in." Such a first-time experience to indulge in foie gras! I ordered the signature foie gras teppanyaki and foie gras pizza. The couple running the place were very friendly. The foie gras teppanyaki was quite substantial. No raw smell at all. The foie gras had a soy sauce flavor. After the crispy soy sauce, the foie gras's richness emerged from the rare part. Wonderful. I think this is the correct way for Japanese people to eat foie gras. And then, a pilaf cooked on the foie gras-infused teppanyaki. The best seasoning, making even a simple pilaf delicious. The pizza was also incredibly tasty. The foie gras chunks on the crispy dough were delightful. Crunchy. Juicy. It felt like a high-quality sauce was spreading in my mouth. I don't really know the taste of foie gras, but... Next, the lady recommended a cheese. I forgot the name of the rare cheese, but... It made my mouth a bit greasy, so I had some pickles. The homemade pickles had a great crunch and flavor. I couldn't stop with the wine. I ended up finishing two bottles alone.

Saturday, a visit after 2:00 PM. I arrived just before closing time, but I was warmly welcomed. Thank you very much. I ordered the "Toban Set" for 2,100 yen. First, foie gras 50g and mushrooms cooked in a soy sauce flavor were served on a ceramic plate! I took a bite... delicious! After eating, they made fried rice with the leftover broth, and salad, and soup (the soup had yuba in a clear broth). The foie gras-flavored fried rice was quite good. Lunch is only available on weekends. (Last order at 2:30 PM) The 50g of foie gras was slightly insufficient for me. I want to eat more!!... Thank you for the meal.

A gourmet friend asked me if there was anywhere I was interested in, and I immediately thought of this place. It's only a counter seat, so it takes some courage to go for the first time. "Do you like foie gras?" "It's my favorite." "Alright, it's decided." I quickly made a reservation by phone. "Is it full?" "No," it's still only 6:30. I arrived by taxi and was luxuriously seated in the middle of the counter. The menu full of foie gras made my heart race. Tonight's special was the "Foie Gras Course for Two - 2 servings for 9,800 yen." We also ordered a Tempura wine for 3,000 yen. My friend said it's the "go-to wine when in trouble." As time passed, the wine, which initially seemed light, became a smart gentleman supporting the oiliness of the foie gras. The appetizers included crackers spread with duck and salmon pate, homemade pickles, and Iberico pork salami. There was nothing to complain about. Especially the pickles were incredibly delicious. The salad with foie gras was a balsamic-flavored salad topped with a foie gras sauté. It also included ice plant from South Africa, which is a succulent plant with thick leaves that has a good salty taste. A luxurious salad indeed. Each person got a plate of foie gras teppanyaki, which was full of happiness. The pilaf made with the teppanyaki plate and oil had a strong green onion flavor and was surprisingly delicious. We shared a foie gras pie baked in a pastry shell. The foie gras inside was tender and sweet, very delicious. For dessert, we had a cheese platter with a selection of Mimolette, Parmigiano, Roquefort, and other cheeses. They served us different types of cheeses, which was much appreciated. We also added homemade pickles for 500 yen, which had a strong vinegar flavor and a hint of onion or garlic. It was delicious. The kitchen behind the counter was crowded with tools and dishes, but the cozy atmosphere made it easy to relax and have a good conversation with my friend. And all this for just 7,000 yen per person with change left over. Definitely worth a visit.

When you feel like eating foie gras and matsutake mushrooms, the only option is to go to a foie gras restaurant! There is a small counter-only restaurant near Kawaramachi Sanjo, and they only serve lunch on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays! I ordered the autumn limited edition "Foie Gras and Matsutake Mushroom Clay Plate Set" from the menu! The set includes a salad, clear soup, and a clay plate with foie gras and matsutake mushrooms, and after you finish the foie gras, they will make fried rice with the leftover foie gras fat! They started by heating the clay plate over high heat before cooking the foie gras! Once they got a nice sear on it, they added the matsutake mushrooms and seasoned it with soy sauce! It was bubbling and simmering in the oil like an ajillo, and it looked very hot! When I tried to pick up a piece with chopsticks, it was so tender that it easily fell apart! As I cooled it down and took a bite, the outer part was crispy while the inside was creamy, and the foie gras melted in my mouth, which was delicious! The matsutake mushrooms soaked up the flavor of the foie gras fat thoroughly, making it even more delicious! There were surprisingly many matsutake mushrooms in it, so the extra 500 yen was worth it! Since it was during the day, I didn't have wine, but it would be perfect for wine lovers! They made fried rice with the leftover oil, so I left a bit of foie gras and took it home! The salad was ordinary, but it tasted delicious with the sesame dressing! The clear soup had matsutake mushrooms and mitsuba, and it was tasty with a Japanese-style dashi broth! After a while, the piping hot fried rice arrived! It was topped with green onions, and I slowly savored it as it cooled down! The rice had soaked up the foie gras fat, making it very tasty! The leftover foie gras did a great job, and there was crispy rice stuck to the bottom! When I peeled it off, it had a fragrant aroma and a rich flavor, making it very delicious! The fried rice was warming enough to make me sweat a bit on my forehead, but I finished every last grain cleanly! The portion may seem small, but perhaps it's the satisfying foie gras calories that made it so delicious! After paying at the table and telling the friendly owner that it was delicious, I left, surprised to find it not too crowded during lunchtime! It must be lively at night! It was delicious! Thank you for the meal! Once again, it's calorie overload~!

We headed to a small and cozy restaurant called "Foie Gras" in the Sanjo Kawaramachi area, where my friend and his wife run the place. They recently celebrated their 7th anniversary. The atmosphere is very homey, with only a counter seating. Their specialty is the Foie Gras teppanyaki, which is a unique Japanese twist on the classic French dish. After enjoying the Foie Gras, they use the remaining fat on the hot plate to cook a delicious pilaf. In addition to Foie Gras, they also offer pasta and homemade pizza. Today, we tried the Mixed Pizza, which was piping hot and incredibly tasty. We couldn't resist finishing a bottle of wine before work. One of my personal favorites is the pickles made by the wife, which includes a variety of unique vegetables like lotus root, local vegetables, and yam. They have a nice tangy flavor that I always order.

I thought a small restaurant with just a counter would be nice, so I went to "Gokuraku Tonbo's Foie Gras Shop". There were a couple of empty seats at the end, so I ordered the foie gras teppanyaki set and a glass of wine. I waited a few minutes with the conversation of other customers and the owner as background music. The teppanyaki that had been talked about on TV and in some blogs arrived. It was on the smaller side, with a soy sauce-based Japanese flavor, accompanied by asparagus and mushrooms. It was delicious, but I couldn't decide if it was French cuisine or izakaya food. I finished it while pondering. I waited for the pilaf made with the sauce left from the teppanyaki. As I looked at the menu again, I noticed dishes like foie gras wrapped in pastry and lamb, but the "smoked oysters" caught my attention. However, considering the order of eating, I decided to pass on it. Another customer just finished paying and left, leaving me alone in the restaurant. The pilaf was brought out. It was delicious!! The bottom was crispy, and the combination of the juice from the foie gras, the sauce, and some spices made for an exquisite pilaf. Since the restaurant had quieted down, I asked the owner. I thought there would be a lot of talk about the origin and type of bird, but I was a bit disappointed. I savored the hot pilaf slowly and asked about the "smoked oysters" that caught my interest. The owner kindly said, "It's cold. It's canned oysters from Korea." Even though there was no elaborate explanation about the dish, I found his straightforwardness endearing. I felt like coming back to this place again. It may be enough for those with a small appetite, but for those with a big appetite, one or two dishes before the foie gras teppanyaki set might be the way to go.

The restaurant is known for its foie gras teppanyaki, but the real star of the menu is the pilaf that comes as a set. Made with the leftover broth from the teppanyaki, the pilaf is full of flavor and even has a crispy bottom. The foie gras itself is not luxurious, but it is used in a unique way to enhance the dish. For 1800 yen, you get the foie gras teppanyaki, salad, soup, and pilaf, making it a great deal. Enjoy the foie gras with a drink, then finish with the delicious pilaf. There are other menu options available, but I recommend adding a bit of foie gras to the pilaf for an extra treat.

I was taken to a small restaurant by my friends, where we enjoyed a set of famous foie gras teppanyaki with three people. The place only has a counter and used to be a popular izakaya before they started serving this specialty dish. The portion of foie gras was small, but it was rich and flavorful, allowing us to enjoy the crispy rice as well. The foie gras-infused pilaf was delicious, even for someone like me who isn't a big fan of foie gras. It's a great value for being able to taste one of the world's top three delicacies and feel a sense of luxury. I recommend trying it out at least once. As for side dishes, I suggest the assorted pickles in a jar for a refreshing palate cleanser.

I received a foie gras course for 2100 yen. It is a one drink minimum. The foie gras came out first and it was delicious with the option to choose your own seasoning. However, the teppan (iron plate) was small and I think it would be more satisfying if it was a bit larger and came with more vegetables. The amount of foie gras was satisfying. Lastly, rice pilaf, clear soup, and salad were served. The pilaf had no filling, so adding some vegetables would be nice. It was delicious but I don't think it's worth the cost.

I was taken to this restaurant by a friend. If it wasn't for this opportunity, I probably wouldn't have gone to a restaurant that serves foie gras on my own. My first experience with foie gras was in Paris a long time ago, and I didn't find it particularly delicious back then. That's why the foie gras pate that I received as a souvenir from someone else is still sitting in my fridge. At this foie gras restaurant, I had foie gras cooked on a hot plate instead of pate. It was definitely different. The foie gras was not liver-like and had a subtle sweetness. It even went well with soy sauce. Since it was my first time trying foie gras, I can't really say how good it was compared to others, but I found it delicious. The pilaf made in the dish after the foie gras was also tasty. The salad was average. I shared the hot plate set with my friend, and we also had pizza and pickles. The pizza crust was thin, which I liked. The pickles were so delicious that I wanted to learn how to make them myself. They were not too sour or too sweet, and the colors of the vegetables were still vibrant. Despite being named a foie gras restaurant, they had a variety of other dishes as well. We had beer and wine to drink. The beer was only available in small bottles, and the wine was boxed wine. It was okay, nothing extraordinary. It's a small restaurant with only a counter, but it was quiet and a place where you can relax and enjoy delicious food.

Foie gras feast!! Just a little up from Sanjo Kawaramachi and turn east Theme: Asian, International, etc. I visited the "Gokuraku Tonbo Foie Gras Restaurant" around October. A friend had been there before and said it was delicious, so I went with them once. The entrance is small and the sign is also small, easy to overlook when walking normally. When you open the retro atmosphere door, there is a small restaurant with only about 8 seats at the counter. It was run by a man and a woman. The man said that they had to go to Osaka from the next day, because they were going to be on "Yo-i-don" show. You could have a very relaxed conversation and the homely atmosphere was lovely. As for the food, I ordered the 2600 yen foie gras teppanyaki set. It included salad, foie gras teppanyaki, and foie gras pilaf. In addition, I also ordered foie gras pizza. The pizza was the most delicious, with the foie gras oil seeping into the dough, creating a wonderful aroma and taste when you bite into it. Since I don't often have the opportunity to eat foie gras, I felt satisfied with it for the first time. It's a restaurant where you can be fully satisfied with the cost performance.

This is a cute little restaurant with eight counter seats. As the name suggests, they mainly use foie gras, a luxury ingredient, but the price of the course menu is quite reasonable. We visited with three people and tried the foie gras course for two people, plus a mini foie gras teppanyaki course. The appetizers included foie gras pate and marinated mussels. There was also a foie gras sauté salad. The main dish was foie gras teppanyaki. The flavor was a bit strong due to the soy sauce base, but you can fully enjoy the foie gras. Foie gras pie wrap was also served. Lastly, we had pilaf made with the remaining teppanyaki sauce, soup, and a dessert of vanilla ice cream and coffee sherbet. All of this for less than 5,000 yen per person is quite a good deal. Foie gras lovers will definitely enjoy it. However, personally, I felt that eating so much foie gras at once was a bit overwhelming. The pilaf made with the teppanyaki sauce was delicious. The soup was a bit lacking. It could probably be omitted. Additionally, the homemade pasta with meat sauce that we ordered as an extra was extremely tasty. ...While the focus is often on the foie gras dishes, the other dishes such as pasta and pizza are also very delicious here. Next time, I seriously plan to order something other than foie gras. ...By the way, there is no connection to the comedian Gokuraku Tonbo, despite the similar name (laughs)
