When you feel like eating foie gras and matsutake mushrooms, the only option is to go to a foie gras restaurant! There is a small counter-only restaurant near Kawaramachi Sanjo, and they only serve lunch on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays! I ordered the autumn limited edition "Foie Gras and Matsutake Mushroom Clay Plate Set" from the menu! Since it was during the day, I didn't have wine, but it would be perfect for wine lovers! They made fried rice with the leftover oil, so I left a bit of foie gras and took it home! The salad was ordinary, but it tasted delicious with the sesame dressing! The clear soup had matsutake mushrooms and mitsuba, and it was tasty with a Japanese-style dashi broth! After a while, the piping hot fried rice arrived! It was topped with green onions, and I slowly savored it as it cooled down! The rice had soaked up the foie gras fat, making it very tasty! The leftover foie gras did a great job, and there was crispy rice stuck to the bottom! When I peeled it off, it had a fragrant aroma and a rich flavor, making it very delicious! The fried rice was warming enough to make me sweat a bit on my forehead, but I finished every last grain cleanly! The portion may seem small, but perhaps it's the satisfying foie gras calories that made it so delicious! After paying at the table and telling the friendly owner that it was delicious, I left, surprised to find it not too crowded during lunchtime! It must be lively at night! It was delicious!
