I went to the bakery at 5:30 pm on a regular day. Since it was 30 minutes before closing, there were only four bread left, haha. I bought two: one was an anpan and the other was a mushroom-topped bread. Both were delicious, but I think they would have been even better if they were fresher! Next time, I'll go in the morning and try their signature bread!

At 3pm on Saturdays. Located at the southwest corner of Ayakoji Yanagibamba, across from Highlight Kyoto. The concept is to make you want to eat there twice a week, hence the name "2/7". The croissant is crispy and the curry bread is slightly spicy, both of which I liked. The prices are a bit high, so it's not something I can buy every day. But it seems like they aim to be a bakery that you crave for occasionally.

While walking around the area near Shijo-Karasuma, I came across a stylish and lovely bakery. Since I always make it a point to buy salt bread whenever I visit a new bakery, I decided to go in. It was around noon on a Sunday, and there were only about 2 groups of customers. The salt bread I chose was the "Sansho Salt Bread" priced at 240 yen. The bread here tends to be on the pricier side, compared to other places where salt bread is usually in the 100 yen range. This particular salt bread had a unique touch with a generous amount of Sansho pepper inside, giving it a subtle spiciness. It was a one-of-a-kind bread that you can only find at this shop. The buttery flavor was elegant and delightful. It would be perfect as a table bread as well. They also had croissants, brioches, pain perdu, melon bread, and a variety of other hard breads. It was a hot day and I had to carry the bread around for a while, so I didn't buy too many items, but if I have the chance to come back to this area, I would love to try out their other breads.

I went around 9 am! I had heard that the croissants were delicious, so I bought a croissant, pain au chocolat, anko butter France, and something like a mushroom croque monsieur. The prices were a bit high, so I hesitated a little, but the croissant was large and the other items were delicious, so it was good! The mushroom bread had a very good aroma and tasted great!

I went to 2/7 Kitchen Bakery and bought a prosciutto baguette sandwich for 580 yen and a mushroom marinated tartine for 480 yen. It was after 6 PM, so some items were sold out. I enjoyed the sandwiches at home. I love baguette sandwiches, so I always end up buying them when I see them. I would like to try something different next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

A new bakery that caught my eye on Ayanokoji Street. I saw that they open at 7:30 in the morning, so I decided to stop by after finishing my breakfast. They only offer takeout, but they also have sandwiches, which made me think it might be a good place to buy breakfast. Here are my thoughts on the pastries I tried:
- Pain au Chocolat: The layers and beauty of this pastry are impressive. The crispy crust is just to my liking, and the balance of chocolate is good.
- Pain aux Raisins: Look at those beautiful layers! Inside, there are raisins and custard subtly mixed. I enjoyed it while thinking about the time and effort it takes to create these layers.
- Sansho Salt Bread (2 pieces): Not as strong in sansho flavor as I expected, but just a hint of it. It's elegant even as a salt butter bread.
- Brioche Melon Pan: The sweetness of brioche dough and the crispy texture of melon pan dough match well. I really liked this one.
- Batard: A slightly brown whole wheat-like bread. The crumb is dense and chewy, while the crust is pleasantly crispy. I quite like this texture.
The name of the shop comes from the idea that you would want to eat their bread two days out of the week (7 days). It makes sense. I really liked it. I'll visit again next time. Thank you for the delicious pastries.

Recommended croissant stays crispy even when cold! It's large size provides a satisfying bite. Also tried the pizza toast and curry bun. The curry bun had a stronger spice flavor than expected. The cozy atmosphere of the shop, tucked away quietly, was also very nice. I would love to visit again and try a different bread.

[May 2023 Bread Adventure♪] I found this bakery on the way to Kyoto Station after a meal gathering a while back, and bookmarked it thinking it looked delicious on a whim. When I visited before a dinner meeting one night, even though it was a weekday, they were almost sold out, so my "might be delicious?" turned into "definitely delicious" and I decided to visit again before a lunch gathering! It was a Sunday afternoon around 12 o'clock, and they had almost their full lineup of bread, but the curry bread I was looking for was the last one left: sweat. I bought the following bread for breakfast and as wine snacks♪ [Bought bread♪] ★ Homemade curry bread (330 yen) - The oil was well drained and the bread was crispy. It had bread crumbs on it, but it might have been a baked type? ★ Pain aux raisins (330 yen) ★ Truffle-scented raw frankfurter (420 yen) - A properly delicious frankfurter, with a thin dough but not losing to the frankfurter in flavor♪ [Wine snacks♪] ★ Smoked bacon epi (300 yen) The name of the shop, 2/7, apparently means "bread you want to eat twice a week," and it was indeed delicious bread that lived up to that name (≧▽≦) Location: Located on a street parallel to Shijo Street, around halfway between Shijo Station and Kyoto Kawaramachi. If coming from Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Line subway to Shijo, exit from exit 3, head east (towards Kawaramachi), and you'll find it down the road.

Looking for a bakery is also fun. I carefully consider the first bread I encounter. The croissant was sold out, so I bought a pain au chocolat and a bacon epi. They were delicious. The name of this shop, 2/7Kitchen, says "Homemade freshly baked bread that you want to eat twice a week."

Visited the popular bakery "2/7 kitchen BAKERY" in Shijo. The name comes from wanting to eat bread 2 days a week. It's a clever naming sense, isn't it? If it was once a week, it would feel like just one day? And if it was three days a week, it would feel like too much bread for half the week... so 2 days is just right.
- Raisin Croissant (¥280)
This might be the most beautiful croissant I've ever had. And it's a raisin croissant at that. I was skeptical at first, but when I tried it, it really does have raisins inside. The outside is crispy when toasted. The inside is surprisingly moist and gentle, which pairs perfectly with the raisins.
- Mushroom Marinated Tartine (¥480)
Delicious. It has a strong, mature flavor typical of mushrooms. But it's a bit expensive, isn't it? At this price, maybe once a week is more realistic, haha. Anyway, the Raisin Croissant was truly one of a kind.

A stylish bakery a few minutes' walk from Karasuma Station. I bought a croissant, half baguette, and raisin bread. Unfortunately, the bread got soggy on the way back due to heavy rain. Both the croissant and the raisin bread were not crispy and were heavy, which was disappointing for someone who prefers a crispy texture. The baguette was a bit hard, but it had a nice wheat aroma and good flavor.

A stylish bakery with a fashionable interior and exterior. Open from 7:30 in the morning. Recommended for breakfast when staying at a hotel near Kyoto Shijo Station. The specialty croissant, pain au chocolat, and pain aux raisins are available for takeout. I tried the pain au chocolat on the same day. They all have a strong buttery flavor, which was a little different from my preference.

Thank you for visiting. I happened to pass by and was curious, so I decided to stop by. Despite the low rating on Tabelog, I didn't have high expectations, but it turned out to be a wonderful bakery. The croissant was authentic, crispy, fragrant, and delicious. The other breads were also top-notch. I highly recommend everyone to give it a try.

I found this bakery on my way from the hotel I was staying at in Gojo to Shijo. The stylish exterior caught my eye, so I decided to go in and try their selection of hard bread and croissants. I ended up buying two hard breads and one croissant. The croissant was delicious, so I definitely want to visit again when I'm in Kyoto.

The prices are high but the lineup is quite impressive. Pan au Levan: Danish pastry bread featured on TV. Wrapped in a puff pastry similar to Sfogliatelle, it has a crispy texture and a good buttery flavor! The cream inside, like rum raisins, is a bit scarce.

Kyoto has a high consumption of bread, so there are bakeries everywhere. Among them, croissants are popular, so I decided to try one. When I entered the shop, there were no customers, but as I was deciding, more and more customers came in. There were even phone reservations, showing how popular it is. The croissant was large and had a rich buttery flavor, it was really delicious.

I tried a melon pan with a unique shape that I had never seen before. It had a crispy exterior, a soft and chewy interior, and a buttery aroma that was amazing. It was so delicious that even though I was full, I ended up eating the whole thing while walking. There were other breads available, but this melon pan was so delicious that it's the only one I remember. It left a lasting impression on me.

I visited around 2:30 pm on a weekday. I was drawn in by the lovely exterior of the bakery. It was a self-service style where you take the bread displayed on the counter. I saw a poster for croissants, so I decided to try the croissant, melon bread, and curry bread. They didn't have my usual cream bread for comparison. The croissant was soft and easy to eat, with a mild buttery flavor and saltiness. I'm not a big fan of croissants, so I apologize for being critical. The melon bread had a slightly crispy top and a fluffy bottom, with a mild flavor. The curry bread had a hint of spiciness in the curry, but it was not overpowering. The bread was soft and easy to eat. The bread I bought this time was light, so maybe this bakery specializes in lighter options? Thank you for the meal.

Located on Ayakoji Street, south of one of the four avenues, this bakery may go unnoticed due to its traditional Japanese exterior. Inside, they offer a variety of croissants, but I opted for a salted bread and anko butter. Both were delicious. Kyoto bakeries are known for their tasty dough and well-balanced ingredients, and this bakery is no exception. Thank you for the meal.

I came for lunch and had some time before my reservation, so I decided to take a stroll around the area. I found a lovely bakery and decided to go in. It was a stylish and chic bakery with a beautiful sign that drew me in. I bought a Croissant Coleman Carrens, Cream Cheese Campanile, Walnut, Fig, and Gorgonzola Campanile, Hokkaido Whole Wheat Square Bread, Tuna Melt, Truffle-scented Frankfurter, Coconut Chestnut, Mushroom Marinated Tartine, and Baguette. The Coconut Chestnut had a coconut topping and chestnut kneaded into the dough, giving it a unique chewy and gooey texture that was absolutely delicious. It had just the right amount of sweetness. I heated up the Tuna Melt, and it was crispy with a gentle tuna mayo flavor and a nice balance of onions. The temptation of the beautifully melted cheddar cheese on top was irresistible. I had a wonderful encounter with this lovely bakery. The staff at the register were as soft and gentle as freshly baked bread. Thank you very much. It was a delicious meal!
