This restaurant is a branch of a place featured on the TV show "Sekkaku Gourmet" before the drama "Vivan" on TBS. It looked delicious, so I looked it up and made a reservation to go there in Kyoto. The restaurant is about a 3-minute walk from Yamashina Station. It was my first time at Yamashina Station, and there were so many shops around. The street where this restaurant is located has various shops, making it difficult to decide where to go. The restaurant looks beautiful from the outside, and the menu is extensive with a variety of drinks. Especially, the lemon sour has many options in terms of alcohol content, sweetness, and sourness, making it a great place for lemon sour lovers. I followed the recommendation of the manager and ordered the following dishes:
- Thick-cut grilled liver (999 yen)
- Meat Toro Tessa (999 yen)
- 5-second roast (999 yen)
- Meat juice-filled green onion salted tongue (299 yen)
- Thick-cut tongue (1899 yen)
- Omi beef grilled, meat sushi, topped with sea urchin, topped with salmon roe
- Toro Techan special salt-grilled (799 yen with special washing)
- Cooked silver rice (499 yen)
The food was delicious, especially the meat dishes. The restaurant was bustling with many staff members, indicating its popularity. The place was full, and there was a waiting line outside. Reservations are recommended. Despite wanting to eat more, I was too full to continue. The staff's service was excellent, even with the restaurant being busy. I found a great restaurant and will definitely go back.

I was drawn to the visual appeal of Negitan and traveled all the way to Kyoto! It's cute like a bundle ♡ It must take a lot of time and effort to roll it up with so many meat variations, so I have high expectations♪ ♣︎ Food List ♣︎ ☆Negitan Plenty of green onions wrapped in tongue and tied with chives. The staff put a lot of effort into making it. You can taste the meat juice and condiments at the same time☆Fresh thick-cut beef liver Quickly seared. The sweetness comes after the umami!☆Beef seared meat sushi, topped with sea urchin and salmon roe (3 pieces) Feels like eating fatty tuna. Sea urchin and salmon roe are fresh and delicious☆Meat Toro Tataki With egg yolk and sauce. Please give me some rice~☆Thick tongue It's really thick! Plenty of chewiness☆Toro Tetchan With citrus-based washing sauce. Removes the fat and leaves only the umami☆Koune Yakiniku Hiroshima specialty. Rare part of black wagyu beef shoulder belly. Rich in collagen and good for beauty+:•☆Kaenomi I like it so I ordered it!☆Tenyo Harami (sauce) This is also a classic☆5-second loin (sauce) With egg yolk. This also goes well with rice♪☆Morioka Cold Noodles Served in a stylish bowl. No shortcuts in taste. Highly recommended☆Kimchi assortment☆Freshly cooked silver rice (2 servings) It was so delicious that I ended up eating three bowls... ( ¯⌓¯ )★Specialty homemade Tenyo Lemon Sour (spicy/deluxe)★Shochu (Jasmine)★Glass of wine (red) Definitely worth the price! Everything was delicious without exception~It was quiet around the area due to the end of the three-day weekend, but customers kept coming in here one after another. It's understandable^ ^I will definitely go back to eat again~Thank you for the meal(╹◡╹)♡

The specialty dish Negitan was delicious with plenty of green onions, very juicy, and I could eat as many as I wanted. The hoso (thinly sliced beef) was very large and had a nice texture, I kept asking for more. I recommend trying it with salt. The heart sashimi was cooked at a low temperature, making it safe to eat.

I was recommended by a gourmet acquaintance to visit a popular yakiniku restaurant in Kyoto Yamashina where you can enjoy delicious meat at a reasonable price. I made a reservation in advance and visited on a weekday at 7:30 PM. As soon as I entered, I was greeted with a cheerful "welcome". The interior of the restaurant had a casual and cozy atmosphere with a lot of wood elements, and it was well-cleaned. It was bustling and lively with all the tables fully occupied. Here are the items I ordered:
- Meat Toro Tessa: Sinful with two egg yolks, this dish is topped with green onion salt sauce and is absolutely delicious.
- Meat Juice-filled Green Onion: Overflowing with meat juice and the texture of green onions, this dish is a must-order and incredibly delicious.
- Extra-fresh Thick-cut Liver: Thick and bouncy, the texture and flavor are irresistible.
- Extra-thick Tongue: Despite being thickly cut, it is tender and juicy, incredibly delicious.
- Freshly Cooked Silver Shari: It takes about 30 minutes to cook after ordering, but it's worth the wait. The shiny silver shari rice goes perfectly with the meat.
- 5-second Rib Roast: A large piece of rib roast quickly grilled and placed on silver shari rice with an egg yolk on top, creating the ultimate meat and rice dish.
- Seared Sushi: A luxurious assortment of seared sushi with sea urchin and salmon roe toppings, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture.
- Toro Tecchan: Lightly grilled and served with a special dipping sauce, the sweet taste of the fat overflowing is irresistible.
- Morioka Cold Noodles: Refreshing and smooth cold noodles that are perfect for ending the meal.
I thoroughly enjoyed the overwhelming cost performance and quality of the meat. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service, leaving a good impression. This is a fantastic yakiniku restaurant that lives up to its popularity. I highly recommend giving it a try. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Unbeatable deliciousness with no misses, the Negitan meat at Tawaragata is a great value. It's packed with meat juices yet light and irresistible. Indulge in the luxurious Uni Yukke - tender meat topped with sea urchin and salmon roe. Conveniently located near the station with nearby coin parking. Will definitely make a reservation again.

My family saw it on TV and said it looked delicious, so I visited with my colleagues. The leek tongue was surprisingly small, bite-sized. But, that size was just right. The meat toro tessa was delicious. I tried mixing the leftover eggs with the meat in sauce, and it turned out mild and tasty. I'm not sure if it's the right way to eat it, but it was good.

Visited the restaurant on a day when it was fully booked even before opening. The visual appearance of the meat dishes was impressive, and the taste did not disappoint either. The Negi-Negi Tan, packed with plenty of green onions, is a must-try with its tender and juicy meat. The 5-second loin and Toro Tecchan were also delicious. Despite having around 70 seats, including semi-private rooms, it gets fully booked in advance. It is easily accessible from the station and also convenient to reach from Osaka. Definitely worth a visit.

The popular restaurant in Yamashina, known for its specialty dish "Negitan," was fully booked on a Sunday at 5 pm, showcasing its popularity. The restaurant is quite clean and has a sense of cleanliness that doesn't match the typical casual yakiniku restaurant. The signature dish "Negitan" is a visually striking dish where green onions are wrapped around the tongue with salt and neatly tied, creating a powerful presentation. Not only visually appealing, but the combination of green onions and tongue is excellent, making it a must-try dish. The thick-cut tongue is juicy and tender, with a generous amount of salt sauce, green onions, and egg yolk to enjoy. Other dishes like the large 5-second roast beef and beautifully marbled aburi meat sushi are delicious as well. The lemon sour drinks range from sweet to sour, with the option to choose the alcohol content, which is a rare and pleasant surprise. Overall, it is a great restaurant where you can enjoy good food at affordable prices.

I ordered the 3800 yen course and was served rice cooked in a clay pot. At first, the rice seemed a bit undercooked and lacked shine, but as I continued eating, it became shiny and perfectly cooked. Maybe it needed more time to steam at the beginning? Overall, I was very satisfied with both the portion size and taste of the course.

The meat was delicious no matter what we ordered! Also, becoming a member allowed us to drink lemon sour for around 300 yen, making the drinks very cost-effective! Whether it's for barbecue or drinks, this is a very good restaurant where you can be satisfied!

An affordable and delicious yakiniku restaurant. The meat is not the best, but you can still feel happy. The specialty was the wrapped negi-tan, but personally I found the toro-tessa to be unique and tasty. I had high expectations for the negi-tan, but it was just okay. I might not order it next time. You can also order freshly cooked rice, which was a source of happiness to have at a yakiniku restaurant. It's a big plus point. It's close by, so I'm thinking of going again and already planning what to order next. It was a fun experience.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is bright and nice! The meat overall was delicious, but I thought the tongue was too salty... Well, it goes well with alcohol though, haha. The lean meat in the course was delicious, so I ordered additional hormone, but it was a bit disappointing.

Popular Yakiniku Horumon Tenyou @tenyou_yakiniku_yamashina, located a 3-minute walk from Kyoto JR Yamashina Station, offers great value for money. The dishes I tried this time were: Negi-Tan with plenty of meat juice for 328 yen per piece, 5-second loin for 1098 yen, Extremely thick tongue base for 1978 yen, Meat Toro Tessa for 988 yen, Seared sushi for 328 yen, Seared sushi (with sea urchin) and (with salmon roe) for 438 yen each, Super fresh thick-cut liver grill for 1098 yen, Morioka cold noodles for 1098 yen, Clay pot rice for 1 serving for 548 yen, etc. Seriously, everything was delicious... My highly recommended menu items are the Extremely thick tongue base, 5-second loin, Meat Toro Tessa, and Negi-Tan. The addictiveness of the Negi-Tan with meat Toro Tessa's green onion salt sauce is insane... If you watch the video, you will definitely want to try it too! And the tongue gymnastics performance is also spectacular! When you visit Kyoto, be sure to check it out! Thank you for the meal!

Honestly, this was the best yakiniku restaurant I've ever been to. The meat in the photo, called "tawara," was incredibly delicious. We also ordered white rice, but before we knew it, it had disappeared along with the meat. It's best to go on an empty stomach, but make sure to bring plenty of money with you. ☝️

The cost performance is not good. There are no photos on the menu, so I didn't know how much one portion was when I ordered, and I was surprised by how little it was. I visited with high expectations based on other reviews saying it was good value, but in my opinion, it was not at all. The negi-tan looked nice, but the taste was mediocre. It's not good value to pay ¥273 for just one bite. The other meats and alcohol also didn't feel like a good deal. In addition, the tables for two were too small. I ordered the 5-second roast and rice at the same time, but it took 30 minutes for the rice to arrive after the meat, so be aware of that.

From Kyoto Station, one stop away at Yamashina Station, I had yakiniku. I tried the following dishes:
- Negi Negin Tan (one roll) for ¥249
- Thick-cut tongue for ¥1,599
- Fresh thick-cut liver for ¥999
- Salted meat toro tessa for ?
- Kaenomi for ¥599
- Toro tetchan for ¥699
- One serving of freshly cooked silver shari in a clay pot for ¥499
- Morioka cold noodles for ¥999
The toro tetchan was marinated in a wash sauce, while the thick-cut tongue had a satisfying chewiness without any strong odor, making it very meaty and excellent. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, which was also nice. I have included the menu at the end of the slideshow.
Thank you for the meal!
I patrol around Osaka, Kobe, and Kyoto in search of delicious food, only using "delicious" for things that truly deserve it. Check out my other posts on Instagram @ricopin_0628.

Beef tongue rolls seem to be popular as they are being ordered at various tables. The rolls consist of green onions wrapped in beef tongue. When you install the app, drinks become available at a discounted price for members. It seems to be a branch of Modern Meal located next to Hamaotsu Station. The restaurant appeared to be very busy.

I was drawn to the restaurant by the photo of the beef tongue shaped like a bale. The atmosphere of the restaurant was not very relaxing (the tables were small), but the young staff members were very energetic and lively, which left a strong impression. The meat dishes we ordered one after another were all delicious and we were very satisfied. I would love to visit again if I have the chance!
