When I feel like eating sushi, I often go to this restaurant because it's easy to enter without having to wait. They have a wide variety of sushi options, so I can enjoy different kinds. They also change their menu items according to the season, which is great because I can try seasonal dishes. The quality of the sushi is good for the price.

I used this restaurant for lunch. The interior was spacious, and there were staff members wearing kimonos. I ordered the chef's choice sushi. The sushi was fresh and delicious, melting in my mouth. Even after paying, they politely saw me off to the door.

A Japanese restaurant known for its sushi kaiseki. They also offer hot pot and set meals. They have a children's menu, making it a good choice for families. However, if you have a specific craving for sushi or hot pot, you might find it hard to choose here. It could be a good option for those looking to enjoy Japanese cuisine, especially sushi, with their family. They also have private rooms and table seating, making it suitable for business meetings.

Today, I ended up watching the Gion Festival pre-festival float procession until the end, staying for 4 hours. Thinking that everywhere would be crowded for lunch, I decided to come to the main branch of Ganko, which seemed to be the most spacious. There were many people waiting at the entrance, but about 10 people were allowed in. I ordered the "Hamo (pike conger) Assortment Meal for 2178 yen". It's great that you can eat pike conger anywhere in Kansai. I could tell it would be delicious just by looking at the large and beautiful pike conger being prepared by the chef behind the counter. For the pike conger shabu-shabu, first, I put in long green chili peppers and onions, and once they were cooked, I added the pike conger. When it gradually turned white and plump, it was ready. It's definitely delicious when you dip it in the broth. The spicy kick of the mandarin pepper, rather than yuzu pepper, was also a nice accent. The pike conger's plum meat and wasabi soy sauce that came with it from the beginning were also very delicious. But they are more like side dishes for alcohol, not for rice. I enjoyed it deliciously again today. Thank you for the meal.

It was a late lunch so there were no groups around. They had a set sushi menu but I decided to go with my favorite nigiri. The eel was cooked perfectly, soft and fluffy. Eel cooked in this way is the best. The scallops were also fresh.

I visited the restaurant on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, during lunchtime. It was not crowded as it is a large restaurant. Although it is a well-known chain in Kansai, the atmosphere is quite calm if you are looking for a relaxed lunch. I ordered the fried chicken set at the designated counter seat. It arrived in about 5 minutes, surprisingly quick. The freshly fried chicken was delicious! No complaints at all. You can also get free refills of rice, which is great! I thought it was really good. It seems like you can also enjoy daytime drinking.

When I visited Kyoto in November, I visited this place with friends I was close with during my student days. Our friend who always takes charge had reserved a private room for us, so we could relax and enjoy. We had a lively dinner party with nostalgic stories from our student days and embarrassing moments. I don't remember much about the food because we were all chatting and laughing, but I think we had beer and enjoyed dishes like tofu, sashimi, tempura, and beef, all of which were delicious.

I visited around 6 p.m. on a weekday. It's usually crowded, so I was prepared to wait, but the weather was bad, so the restaurant was empty. The tables had partitions, and orders were taken through touch panels for perfect infection prevention measures. The atmosphere inside was bright, the staff were friendly, and I had a pleasant dining experience.

♡【Ganko Sanjo Main Store】♡ Kyoto ❤️ Sanjo ♡ This time, I didn't order a set meal, but ordered individual items. ♡ Ganko has two types of "tamago" sushi, where the rice is wrapped in egg. I always make sure to try tamago whenever I go to a sushi restaurant! I love tamago so much. By the way, regardless of sushi, I make sure to eat at least two eggs every day. ♡笑笑♡

Review:
Located right near Sanjo Ohashi, Wasyoku Ganko offers a variety of lunch set menus, but I decided to order a la carte dishes. The sashimi platter had good freshness, but the slices were on the smaller side and seemed overshadowed by the luxurious presentation. The recommended grilled ayu was quite large and satisfying. The tempura had a slightly burnt onion flavor, but I could taste the seasonal ingredients like Sakura shrimp and firefly squid. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, and there was a sense of consistency in the freshness of the sashimi and overall cooking. However, in terms of value for money, the regular Ganko restaurant might be a better choice.

Visited in December 2021, with a rating of 3.11 on Tabelog. Today, I visited "Ganko Sanjo Main Store" for a small gathering. The restaurant was quite crowded with many elderly customers. We ordered a variety of dishes such as kaiseki cuisine, tecchiri, sushi, tempura, and dobinmushi using a tablet. We ordered a lot, so it felt like we were eating the dishes right in front of us. The food was delicious, with fresh sushi and sashimi, and the tecchiri was also tasty. The lunch menu is reasonably priced at around 1,000 yen, making it easy to visit casually. Thank you for the meal.

The 500 yen bento for lunch was delicious, so I decided to try the restaurant for dinner as well. The atmosphere of the restaurant was solemn and suitable for entertaining clients. The staff were kind and welcoming. I had the sukiyaki set meal, which was very filling. It cost around 3000 yen, but it was worth it for the solemn atmosphere, satisfying meal, and a bit of a splurge. I recommend it for when you want to treat yourself a little.

There's a shop right by Sanjo Ohashi Bridge, and this is their main store. The interior is typical of a Japanese restaurant. I wasn't very hungry, so I got the tuna and eel sushi set. It was less than 1000 yen. The fish was fatty and delicious! Sweet! I think the price is reasonable, and I really liked it because it's affordable.

With a friend, we enjoyed a day trip to Kyoto after a long time. We leisurely explored the sights and enjoyed the gourmet food. We had delicious tea soba in Kitayama, then strolled to Kamigamo Shrine for a visit. From there, we took a bus to Sanjo and decided to have a drink. In this heat, after sweating from walking around, we felt like having a beer. Considering our drinking capacity, we opted for all-you-can-drink. That's when we saw a sign for "Ganko" (lol). We confirmed they offered all-you-can-drink and decided to stop by. We quenched our thirst with bottled beer and ordered dishes like assorted sushi, grilled ayu fish, and water eggplant, all of which were delicious. It had been a while since we visited Ganko, and we were satisfied with the attentive service, spacious seating, and a variety of seasonal dishes.

The restaurant is close to the hotel where I stayed, so I got hungry and decided to have lunch there. Gan-ko is quite good. The sushi is delicious, and the tempura soba was also tasty. I ended up having a beer in the hot weather in the middle of the day. It was delicious! I can't resist this kind of place. It's casual and convenient.

I was strolling around Kawaramachi and it was lunchtime. I noticed a Japanese restaurant that seemed interesting, so I decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, it was my first time at Gan-ko for both lunch and dinner. I looked at the lunch menu and saw options like curry udon and mackerel simmered in soy sauce, but I decided to go with the sushi set meal (Hana) with soba for 1180 yen and a bottle of beer for 620 yen excluding tax. The soba could be served hot or cold, and I chose the cold option. The beer arrived first, and I took a sip. The restaurant was quite spacious, and the staff were all dressed in traditional Japanese clothing, with background music playing enka songs and koto music. It created a nice atmosphere even during lunchtime. After a short wait, the sushi set meal arrived. It included tuna, sea bream, salmon, salmon roe, simmered conger eel, egg, shrimp, tofu skin, and negitoro roll. The tofu skin sushi seemed to be a specialty of the restaurant. All the sushi pieces were well-prepared and satisfying. As I ate, more customers started to come in. A couple who seemed to be regulars were ordering items like blackthroat seaperch and firefly squid with enthusiasm. I also noticed that they sold bento boxes at the storefront, and there was hand sanitizer available inside, which was thoughtful given the current situation. I was curious about the curry udon set meal that could be served hot or cold, and I wondered if the cold version was like tsukemen style. I might try it next time during a drinking party in the evening. It was a delightful meal.

Before heading to the strawberry shop across the street, it's been so many years since I last visited this place! It looks like they renovated while I was away, the interior is really beautiful. This place also had touch panel ordering. I came for lunch but I wasn't really hungry (-- )... so I ordered one item from the lunch menu and a snack. Plus alcohol. Beer is a bit expensive (-- ) Tekka maki (for my partner) and sesame mackerel... mackerel with fatty meat topped with sesame and green onions, with onion slices underneath. Sweet soy sauce drizzled on top. The sweet soy sauce with a hint of wasabi is perfect! Delicious (≧∇≦) Sashimi and tempura set (top)... sashimi of tuna, salmon, and octopus, tempura, tofu, rice, pickles, red miso soup. Maybe because the bowl is big, the portion looks small (-- ) Priced at 398 yen for a dish that seems more like a snack! I thought it was "cheap" but the portion is small (-- ) It's hard to tell the size (portion) from the photos (^^;) It was quite empty, probably due to the virus situation? It's a public holiday but there were not many foreign tourists or visitors, so it was nice and relaxing. But it must be tough for the restaurant staff (T^T) Maybe because it's not busy, I could hear the staff chatting inside the counter quite clearly.

When I went with a friend, we had dinner at Ganko and then went home. The sushi set meals start from around 1,000 yen, so it's a nice place to casually stop by for sushi. The interior of the restaurant has a counter, and when we entered, we were asked if we preferred a table seat. The sushi was fresh, with large pieces and delicious. The menu also includes hot pot dishes, sukiyaki, and many other options besides sushi.

I had the domestic beef shabu-shabu light green course. I came last year as well, but I'm disappointed that the menu is still limited. There are usually so many menu options, but the course only includes five dishes, including udon. Maybe other restaurants would be better? It seems like it should be around 5,000 yen.
