Nandaimon, famous for yakiniku, has opened a new store in Nishiki Market where you can enjoy Kyoto Hirai beef at a reasonable price for lunch. I made a reservation and went to try it out. Located slightly off the main street of Nishiki, it is a quiet and cozy place. They offer various lunch menus, and this time my husband ordered the Kalbi bowl set (1700 yen) while I ordered the limited quantity Wagyu Hitsu-mabushi & Mini Sushi set (1750 yen). There are table seats and tatami rooms available, with a small miniature garden as well. The Wagyu Hitsu-mabushi comes with condiments, dashi broth, and pickles. The sweet and savory seasoned meat, thick fried tofu, simmered egg, and chopped green onions are served on rice, creating a delicious combination that you can't stop eating. First, enjoy it as is, then add one of the four condiments, and finish with the dashi broth. The mini sushi set includes 3 pieces of sushi, surprisingly not so mini in size, topped with wasabi. The meat is tender and melts in your mouth without any strong flavors. It also comes with a salad, making it a healthy and affordable meat dish.

The black-haired wagyu beef and meat sushi were surprisingly delicious for 3800 yen! The meat was tender and not too greasy, so it didn't sit heavy in my stomach. It was really delicious. It was fun to try different flavors. When it suddenly started pouring rain and I was in trouble, the staff gave me an umbrella! The atmosphere was also nice, it's a great restaurant.

My junior made a reservation and we went. The atmosphere was nice with a garden in a back alley in Nishiki Market. We were the first customers on a weekday. I had the hitsumabushi set. The meat sushi was roast beef, but it lacked flavor. I added condiments and ate it, but it was just average. The beef tendon rice bowl was soft and delicious, but the flavor was strong, so it was better when eaten as ochazuke. It seems to be geared towards tourists, as the prices are on the higher side.

Today, the lunch menu featured gyudon with fried tofu and hamburger. I decided to try the meat udon, and it was delicious! It had beef and kujo green onions. I will post it on Instagram. Next time, I want to try the menu with sushi.

Recently opened in the streets of Nishiki Market, not too far from here, is Minamidaimon. It seems like they have also opened a branch in Teramachi Shopping Street. The photos looked delicious, so I was curious to try it out. You can enter the restaurant from a hidden spot in Nishiki Market. Due to the current situation, around 2 pm there was no one else in the restaurant, so we could enjoy our meal at a safe distance. I ordered the following dishes: 1. Wagyu Hitsumabushi Set Meal - 2200 yen 2. Gyukatsu (Beef Cutlet) Donburi Set Meal - 2750 yen The Wagyu Hitsumabushi Set Meal looked very appetizing and colorful. The beef in the hitsumabushi was tightly packed and delicious. I first tried the beef as it is, then poured the broth over it and added some condiments. It was incredibly tasty. The highlight was the roast beef sushi, which came in a set of 3 pieces. It was unbelievably delicious, tender, and melted in my mouth when combined with soy sauce and wasabi. I highly recommend it. The background music was traditional Japanese, and there was a small garden-like area, creating a Kyoto-like ambiance. It was a delightful dining experience.

I made a reservation and visited a restaurant in Nishiki Market that serves meat. The restaurant is located just off the main street and the interior is quite clean. It may be relatively new. I ordered the roast beef bowl and sushi. Both were delicious, but the portions were a bit small, so it might not be satisfying for men. In fact, there seemed to be more female customers.

Domestic beef tendon rice bowl set 1580 yen. I love roast beef, but I also love beef tendon rice bowl! Since its establishment in 1947, I can't forget the famous offal rice bowl from Kitsuneya that I had in Tsukiji and keep adding more memories for 10 years lol. It's in Toyosu now lol. The type is different from Marugiri, but Kitsuneya is deep because of the added miso flavor. ✨ It's an offal rice bowl lol. It's a dish that brings back memories of the meat series on top of rice lol. The beef tendon rice bowl here is elegant and slightly sweet like Kyoto, very tender, and it's also nice that it comes with vegetables. In addition, they offer roast beef, meat-centered set meals, and various cuts of Hiraigyu steak, focusing on Japanese-style rice dishes. Takeout is also available! Next time, I think I'll go for the roast beef bowl lol. It's amazing if you're dining alone!! The Hiraigyu steak is just right for women, and it's enough for men lol. I had roast beef before and it was so delicious that I felt like fainting, so I highly recommend this place too! From Karasuma Station, there is a hidden gem of a shop tucked away just a short walk from Nishiki Market. The atmosphere inside is calm and pleasant. We were able to make a reservation easily and get seated promptly. Unfortunately, the beef tendon bowl set was sold out for the day... so I ordered the roast beef bowl set instead. I asked the waiter for their recommended way to eat it, and it was delicious. I was genuinely pleased with this kind of service. Each dish was reasonably priced, and I felt like I got a lot of good food for the money.

I used my free time during a business trip to do some sightseeing in Kyoto. I wandered around Nishiki Market. There were a lot of people, and popular shops had long waits, so I chose this place! The food was delicious, and I could eat leisurely. It's located in Nishiki Market, but it's a shop that isn't affected by tourists!

Due to the heat, the children wanted to eat meat nearby. We found this place while exploring Nishiki Market. Upon entering, it had a very Kyoto-like feel. As we went further inside, the shop was clean and compact, and the atmosphere was cozy. We ordered the mixed steak and meat sushi. Both dishes were served at the same time after a short wait. When we tasted the steak, we could clearly tell that only the sirloin cut was of high quality, probably A5 grade. I thought that with most A5 grades, you could easily distinguish cuts like ribeye or tenderloin, but that wasn't the case here. The meat sushi, priced at ¥1,600 for six pieces, was also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Minamidaimon in Nishiki Market to eat Hirai beef steak. The group here also has yakiniku and horumon shops. I called ahead and told them I would arrive in 30 minutes. When I arrived, they had reserved a seat for me as a "reservation seat" ^_^ The location in Nishiki Market attracted mostly foreign customers, except for me! The Hirai beef fillet was sold out, so I ordered the sirloin instead. I asked the staff to cook it in the most delicious way. I also ordered a rice set, but it seemed like the staff had forgotten about it, and when I reminded them, they hurried to bring it out. The female staff member honestly admitted, "I forgot about it." It's nice to receive this kind of response without any strange excuses! The meat itself was very flavorful, and I enjoyed a good quality beef ^_^ Thank you for the meal!

I visited this restaurant for lunch in April 2019. After visiting Maruyama Park, Yasaka Shrine, Entokuin Temple, Kodai-ji Temple, Yasaka Pagoda, and Gion for cherry blossom viewing, we came to have lunch at Nishiki Market. The market was crowded with many Chinese tourists. The restaurant is located in Nishiki Market. We ordered the Wagyu sushi for 1600 yen, which came with miso soup and salad for an additional 240 yen, and the 150-gram mixed steak for 3000 yen. We also ordered a Kyoto beer for 700 yen. We shared the meal between two people. The Wagyu sushi was delicious, but the mixed steak was just okay. It would have been better to order a ribeye steak instead. The Kyoto beer was a bit pricey at 700 yen. Next time, I want to try the ribeye steak. I recommend trying the meat dishes at Nishiki Market.

This is a revisit^_^ I ordered the new menu, Yukke Don & Mini Steak Set, and Hitsumabushi Set~ The elegant meat still spreads its delicious flavor in my mouth, it was amazing^_^ The meat quality here is truly exquisite, and even though I usually eat quickly, I found myself savoring the taste. The cooking is excellent, and the vegetables are delicious. This is a place where I would want to bring someone special.

Established in 1957, the long-standing yakiniku restaurant "Minami Daimon" opened a steakhouse in the back alley of Nishiki Market on October 7th. They use only A5 rank Kyoto Tanba black beef called "Hirai beef" for their steaks, bowls, and meat sushi at affordable prices. Menu items include meat sushi and mini tendon bowl set for 1500 yen, featuring lamp and ichibo cuts for the meat sushi and tender simmered tendon meat for the bowl. I took my business partners from China on a sightseeing tour to temples and ended up at Nishinomon Gate. Despite having been to Kinkaku-ji many times before, I was hungry after all the walking and decided to enter Nishinomon Gate. The staff greeted us with lovely smiles and I ordered roast beef bowl, meat sushi, and ribeye steak. When the Chinese guests tried the meat sushi, their faces lit up with smiles. They mentioned that they don't have such delicious lean meat like this in China, and they can't eat it rare like this either. Then, they tried the roast beef bowl with wasabi soy sauce, and their smiles grew even wider. When the ribeye steak arrived, the staff even showed us an illustration of where the ribeye cut comes from, which was a nice touch. The ribeye steak was absolutely delicious, and I struggled to resist getting more rice as I am on a low-carb diet. I had a bit of trouble picking up the corn side dish with chopsticks, and when the staff noticed, they kindly offered me a spoon. Overall, the highlight for me was seeing the satisfied smiles on my Chinese business partners' faces. Bon appétit!

I visited for lunch on a regular day. The table was decorated with celebratory flowers, creating a lively atmosphere. The menu only offers set meals and steak, both for lunch and dinner. I ordered the Meat Sushi and Mini Beef Tendon Bowl Set (1500 yen). After a short wait, it was served to me! The set included 3 pieces of meat sushi, a mini beef tendon bowl, miso soup, salad, and pickles. The content was quite substantial. The sushi used lamp and rib meat from Hirai beef, while the bowl used beef tendon from Hirai beef as well. Both were tender, easy to eat, and delicious. I am now considering trying the steak next time...

Next to the Nishiki Market, down a quiet side street, there was a restaurant tucked away at the end. I heard that Nandaimon, famous for its yakiniku, had opened a shop in Nishiki Market, so I decided to pay a visit. The shop specializes in Kyoto Hirai beef. The restaurant was small but cozy, with tatami seating and beautiful Kyoto-themed paintings on the ceiling that foreign visitors would surely appreciate. Looking at the menu, all the dishes looked delicious and beautifully presented. I decided to try the Roast Beef Donburi for 1700 yen and the Meat Sushi Set for 1700 yen. Drizzling wasabi soy sauce over the roast beef brought out the sweetness of the Hirai beef, making me feel happy. The meat sushi was also delicious and disappeared from my plate in no time. The portion sizes were more suited for women, a bit on the smaller side, but sometimes it's nice to enjoy delicious food without feeling too full. Thank you for the meal!
