Good evening. I am a beauty acupuncturist, Kozue. The other day, my friend bought me some cakes from a shop called L'Atelier Motozo in Ikejiri-Ohashi. This shop is open from 1 pm to 5 pm and closes once sold out, so it's hard for me to go there myself, hence I asked my friend to get them for me. The cakes I purchased this time are as follows:
Tiramisu 670 yen
Panna Cotta 630 yen
Ringo (Apple) 680 yen
Montebianco Japonaise 890 yen
The Ringo (Apple) cake uses Akane apples, which have a vibrant red color and a fresh taste. The inside is mascarpone cheese, but you can really taste the tartness of the apple. The tart crust has a nice crunch, and it also has a fruit sauce similar to apple puree. It's a delicious cake that really concentrates the flavor of the apple.
The Montebianco Japonaise is a limited edition Mont Blanc made with chestnuts from Ehime Prefecture. Both the whipped cream and Mont Blanc cream are not too sweet, allowing the chestnut flavor and creaminess to shine. The slightly firm layer at the bottom, similar to castella, has a good sweetness that pairs well with the cream.
The Panna Cotta features Earl Grey-infused cream and a slightly firm and smooth panna cotta, topped with a slightly firm custard and biscotti. The panna cotta itself is very smooth, and the Earl Grey cream complements it perfectly.
The Tiramisu has a thin chocolate disk on top. There is a juicy sponge at the bottom, with a generous amount of custard filled with coffee jelly. It is topped with cocoa powder and whipped cream. Although it is a bit pricey, I think it stands out from other cakes. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went to the store looking for Mont Blanc. The stylish interior was filled with fashionable cakes. I was also tempted by the baked goods next to the register, but this time I purchased a fresh pastry. The Mont Blanc was not too sweet, with a rich chestnut flavor, and the light cream balanced it perfectly.

Recently, there are many high-end cake shops, mainly focusing on French pastries. However, this particular shop specializes in Italian pastries and is quite renowned. Therefore, the names of the cakes are in Italian, not French. Let's try some of the dolci I bought!
- Montebianco (713 yen): This is essentially a Mont Blanc, with a generous amount of whipped cream and chestnut cream. The meringue inside adds a crunchy texture. The fine piping results in a smooth mouthfeel, and the richness of the chestnut is exceptional. During the autumn season, they also offer a Montebianco made with Japanese chestnuts.
- Tiramisu (767 yen): A classic and depthful tiramisu with a strong coffee base and a restrained sweetness overall. The richness of the mascarpone cream and the not overly sweet cocoa create a refined flavor profile that even adults can enjoy.
- Carvolo (464 yen): In Italian, it means "cabbage," similar to the French choux pastry. However, it is not just choux pastry but also wrapped in sablé and pie crust, resulting in a crispy texture. The crunchy top with royal icing and the smooth custard inside are exquisite. The creamy custard is perfect in sweetness and richness.
All of them are of high quality and delicious, making me want to have another one of each. There are still many other Italian pastries I want to try, like cannoli which are not easily found in Japan. I definitely want to go back for more.

This cafe is located right after crossing the next bridge (Tokiwabashi) from Ikejiriohashi to Meguro River starting point. Whenever I search for cafes in Ikejiriohashi on Tabelog, this place always ranks at the top, so I've always wanted to visit. It used to have a dine-in option, but currently, they only offer takeout. I went to check it out yesterday but had to leave for something else, so I only looked at the showcase. Today, I revisited and made a purchase. I tried the Montebianco: Italian Mont Blanc, which was incredibly delicious with a very elegant chestnut cream, and the Delizia al Limone: Lemon Cake, which had a rich taste with a refreshing lemon flavor, perfect for summer. Both cakes were incredibly delicious. They were so soft that I was worried they might fall apart on the way home. As expected, they got a bit messy... Well, that's unavoidable. There are so many other cakes I want to try, so I might go back again in the latter half of this month.

Monte Bianco 660 yen, Tiramisu 720 yen, Sfogliatella 500 yen. All prices are excluding tax. This is a delicious cake shop near my house. I especially appreciate this shop because there are few places in Tokyo where you can get delicious Sfogliatella.

This is my 4th visit. I bought a cream puff. The pie crust was fragrant and crispy, which was great. The cream was not too sweet and very delicious. Although the price was a bit high for a cream puff, it was worth it. I would like to buy it again next time.

An Italian pastry shop with yellow as its image color. The interior of the shop is lovely and eye-catching, with a luxurious chandelier and vibrant flower paintings on the walls. Although they used to have seating for dining in, it is currently on hold. The quiches looked delicious, but my main goal was the "Monte Bianco," the Italian version of Mont Blanc. On my way there, I discovered the Meguro Sky Garden nearby and decided to get the Mont Blanc to go and enjoy it there. The Meguro Sky Garden is amazing! I had no idea such a place existed in Meguro. It was scorching hot that day, so I found a shady spot, sat on a bench, and enjoyed the Monte Bianco. First, I tried the triangular cream on top. Wow, it was delicious! The fluffy whipped cream was delightful. The chestnut cream at the bottom had a perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness. What is this Mont Blanc? It's on a whole different level compared to other places! The quality is just too high! In fact, Chef Fujita here was the first pastry chef to receive the Italian Hospitality International Certification Mark MOI, which is a rare and prestigious title awarded only to restaurants providing high-quality service and cuisine.

Personally, I prefer Zucotto. Visited around 3pm on a weekday with no wait and no other customers. I had high expectations for Mont Blanc, so I was a bit disappointed that it didn't have more distinctive features. The cream was elegant with a subtle sweetness, but there was too much cream and I wished there was more chestnut flavor. Zucotto, on the other hand, had a fantastic combination of crunchy nuts in the cream and chocolate. The chocolate wasn't too sweet, making it easy to eat, but again, there was too much cream. I would have preferred it to have less cream.

The other day, I bought a cake at "L'atelier MOTOZO" that I had checked out in "UN LIVRE". It is a small shop located along the Meguro River in Ikejiri Ohashi, but it is a regular at the Sweets Hyakumeiten. The specialty of owner-patissier Tsunemitsu Fujita is Italian sweets, and beautiful Italian cakes are lined up in the showcase. The "Monte Bianco" costs 712 yen including tax. This is MontBlanc in French. It is a Mont Blanc with a rich chestnut cream and Hokkaido fresh cream. The base meringue is a little crispy and delicious. It is sweet and delicious. The "Pesche Dolce" costs 669 yen including tax. Pesche means peach. It is a summer sweet from the Tuscan region. I was drawn to its cute appearance and bought it. It is a brioche soaked in red liqueur, sandwiched with custard and peach jam. It is a sweet-smelling confection, but it is more like a sweet bread than a cake. Italian cakes are quite rare and interesting. The cakes carefully made by Chef Fujita are slightly sweet and seem like a dessert suitable for Italian cuisine. The cakes are cute and delicious to look at and eat. I want to go buy them again.

I want to have lunch at a nearby restaurant and on my way there around 12 o'clock, I check the store information on Google and realize that it opens at 1 o'clock. I pass the time at McDonald's and visit the restaurant at 1 o'clock. I just made it before another person entered. Since orders are taken one by one, the next person waits at the entrance mat inside the store. It's helpful to look at the display and decide on your order while waiting for the person in front to make their decision. I bought three items to take home, in addition to the cream puffs.
- Carvoro (Cream Puff): Probably ranked 5th in the Cream Puff Heaven ranking. The pastry has a crispy and soft texture, making it enjoyable. The inside is filled with custard that is not too sweet, and the topping is a sugary confection? which is overly sweet. It would have been better without the sugary confection.
- Monte Bianco (Mont Blanc): This is probably the most popular item since I often see it in photos. The white on top is lightly sweetened whipped cream. The curly hair-like thing at the bottom is chestnut paste, also mildly sweet with a hint of chestnut skin flavor. Below that, there is a crunchy meringue-like baked item? I don't like that, but it's not like that. It has a brown color, not too hard, not too dry, and slightly bitter chocolate flavor. Scoop all three layers with a spoon and enjoy the mix of milk, chestnut, and chocolate flavors.
- Forgot the name (Cheesecake?): Blueberry cheesecake with layers of: - Rare cheesecake - Blueberry jelly with pieces of blueberry fruit - Something sweeter and softer than sponge cake but firmer than cookies - Tart crust with about 4 layers, with pieces of fruit (grapes?) in the 2nd and 4th layers. Both the 1st and 3rd layers are sweet, but the 2nd layer and the fruit's acidity balance out the sweetness, creating a perfect level of sweetness. Thank you for the meal.

In the past, on the NHK BS Premium program "Gokujou Sweets Magic," they introduced this Mont Blanc. The narration was done by the actor with a deep voice, Masato Ibu. I had never heard of Ikejiri-Ohashi before (laughs)!! Today, I made my first visit to Ikejiri-Ohashi. After lunch, I went to this shop for the Mont Blanc that was featured. I got lost going in the wrong direction and different address from Ikejiri-Ohashi station (cries)!! Finally, I safely arrived at the shop. I looked at the posted images and comments to decide on a menu for eating in. I tried to order something, but currently, eating in is closed. I bought 4 Mont Blancs (the shop's cake name is Mont Blanc) for souvenirs and dessert after dinner. The female staff who helped me was also refreshing (laughs)!! The other cakes in the showcase also looked delicious. I might visit Ikejiri-Ohashi again (laughs)!! Today, for dessert after dinner, how did the Mont Blanc taste (laughs)? A bold mountain of cream, the fine texture of chestnuts. The sugar coating is also a beautiful work of art. The cream seems to be more of the star than the chestnuts. I enjoyed it until the end (laughs)!! I will definitely buy it again next time (laughs)!! And hopefully, the eating-in option will be available again (laughs)!!

【2022 Sweets TOKYO Top 100 Stores】Located about a 1-minute walk from Ikejiri-Ohashi Station, this shop has gained fame for its "Monte Bianco (Mont Blanc)" and has been featured in various media outlets. The shop offers a wide variety of products for takeout only, with no seating available for eating in. I visited around 1 pm on a weekday and there was no line, making it easy to make a purchase. The showcase displayed cute cakes and quiches that all looked delicious. I purchased the following items: "Monte Bianco - 660 yen," "Carvolo - 430 yen," and "Fragola - 680 yen." The shop's signature "Monte Bianco," a Mont Blanc cake, was incredibly light and had a perfect level of sweetness, making it slightly different from any Mont Blanc cake I had tried before. It was delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful cake shop. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again. ⭐️⭐️

Just 3 minutes from Ikejiri-Ohashi, I visited on a Saturday evening. The interior of the shop had an Italian feel, and in the sparkling showcase, I found the Mont Blanc I was looking for, "Montebianco".
"Montebianco" - A Mont Blanc dessert made with rich chestnut cream and Hokkaido cream, creating an Italian-style Mont Blanc. The cream shaped like a snow-covered mountain with chestnut paste at the base was quite unique and enjoyable. The light cream paired well with the fluffy chestnut paste.
"Torta Caprese" - A walnut and chocolate cake from the southern Italian island of Capri, made without wheat flour, gluten-free. The rich chocolate flavor was delightful, and the cute appearance, combined with the whipped cream, created a delightful experience. It was a great place to enjoy a variety of Italian sweets. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited the shop near the Meguro River in Ikejiri Ohashi around 2:30 pm on Sunday. The atmosphere of the shop was nice, and I had my eyes set on the Mont Blanc. However, as I looked at the panna cotta and other cakes, there were a few that caught my interest. I decided to get one for takeout. I had it that night. The appearance of the Mont Blanc seemed different from what I expected. The brown part seemed to have a roasted tea-like flavor. The cream part had a slight acidity to it. I'm not sure if I would buy it again, but it was an interesting Mont Blanc that I don't regret trying.

On my way to Sangenjaya, I stopped by an Italian pastry specialty shop called "L'Atelier Motozo" in Ikejiri-Ohashi in search of delicious Mont Blanc. The owner and pastry chef, Mr. Tsunemitsu Fujita, previously worked as a chef at "Sol Levante" in Omotesando, where he became the first Japanese patisserie to receive the Italian Hospitality International Certification Mark (MOI) awarded by the Italian government for taste and quality. He later opened "L'Atelier Motozo" in 2016. The shop is located just a 3-minute walk from Ikejiri-Ohashi Station, in a very accessible location on the ground floor of a stylish low-rise apartment building. The shop's exterior blends in with the appearance of the apartment building and looks very fashionable. On this day, I bought the following 4 items:
Monte Bianco: This pastry represents the Mont Blanc mountain in winter, with the snow part made entirely of fresh cream and the base made of chestnuts from Italy and France. The chestnuts used are those that have been damaged during the making of marron glace, resulting in a very rich flavor. This Mont Blanc was incredibly delicious and ranks in the top 3 of all Mont Blancs I've ever had.
Carvolo: An Italian cream puff. The structure of this pastry consists of pie dough, choux pastry, and sablé dough, with a very good texture and aroma, and a delicious custard cream inside. This cream puff also ranks in the top 10 of all cream puffs I've ever had and is incredibly delicious.
Panna Cotta: A smooth and creamy panna cotta with a dominant earl grey cream that is also very delicious. The nutty biscotti on top adds a nice accent and enhances the overall flavor.
Tiramisu: The fourth dessert in a row, this tiramisu is very smooth and creamy, with a generous amount of mascarpone cheese and egg yolks. The espresso-based coffee syrup in the sponge at the bottom pairs perfectly with the mascarpone. I would definitely go back for the Italian Mont Blanc and cream puff, as this was a very good cake shop.

- Theoder Monte Bianco Panna Cotta
Monte Bianco is a visually unique Mont Blanc dessert. It has a refreshing base of whipped cream topped with rich Mont Blanc and meringue. The texture is very rich, possibly my favorite among all the Mont Blanc desserts I've had in the past. The Panna Cotta has a strong Earl Grey flavor, giving it an adult taste. The Panna Cotta itself is firm and easy to eat. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

Less than 10 minutes from Ikejiri Ohashi, there is an elegant sweets shop with a warm welcome from the staff. The cakes displayed in the showcase were like works of art, so beautiful. I wasn't confident in carrying them home, so I opened the box halfway to take a picture - it was a good decision because when I got home and opened the box, the cake had toppled over and crumbled. It was delicious though. The cake had a strong taste of alcohol, enough to make someone like me who drinks often feel tipsy. It may not be suitable for minors or those who can't drink. But it was really tasty, and I'm glad I bought it. I need to learn how to carry cakes home safely. The staff at the shop were very kind and helpful. They also sold baked goods.

After the classification of COVID-19 into 5 categories, the responses of different stores have varied. Many stores have removed partitions and some people are not wearing masks. I walked from Sangenjaya Station at noon and arrived at the store around 12:40. There was already one group at the front of the line, and about 10 people were waiting before the store opened. When I entered the store, I wanted to choose Mont Blanc, but I noticed they had a wheat-free option, so I ended up buying a gluten-free chocolate cake and a milk tea. This store only allows one group inside at a time, but I think they could relax this rule a bit. Otherwise, people waiting in line will have to wait for quite a long time. I decided to enjoy my purchases in the car on the way back from Shinjuku Station. The gluten-free chocolate cake had a slightly sticky texture, but the combination of chocolate, almonds, and whipped cream on top was satisfying. The blueberry milk tea was like a blueberry cheesecake mousse and was delicious. Although I didn't buy their signature Mont Blanc, I have no regrets as I was able to enjoy various textures.

The Mont Blanc here is visually impressive, with a cute shape. It is made with high-quality ingredients and the taste reflects that. The top is filled with premium whipped cream that has a smooth, non-greasy texture. It is perfect. The bottom consists of chestnut paste cream and meringue, which is not too sweet and balances well with the whipped cream on top. Since dining in was not available, I enjoyed it at home with a delicious cup of coffee.
