This is a restaurant that serves both motsunabe (offal hot pot) and yakiniku (grilled meat). This time, I tried the motsunabe and it was delicious with the offal being firm and tasty. You can also add extra offal to your hot pot, so you can enjoy different variations of motsunabe. It's worth mentioning that there is a small TV at every table, which is a nice touch.

In November, Kyoto is bustling with autumn leaves. By chance, a table opened up at the restaurant we went to, so we were lucky to be able to dine there. We had yakiniku such as tongue and kalbi, and finished with motsunabe. Most of the other customers were having motsunabe, so it seems to be a popular choice. The yakiniku meat was cost-effective and tasty, except for the tail slices. The motsunabe was also delicious, and the prices were reasonable for both dishes. I definitely want to go back again.

I visited the Shukyu Gion store. I have been to the Omiya store before, but I always had the impression that it was a bit out of the way, so I was wondering if Gion would be okay. The interior of the store has walls made of structural plywood, giving it a warehouse-like atmosphere which is quite nice. The lighting is a bit bright, but the small TV on the table is cute. I ordered 7 types of horumon (offal) along with cabbage, tomato, and others. Everything was excellent. I particularly like hatsu (heart) when it comes to horumon, and it was delicious. The recommended motsunabe (tripe hot pot) was also good, with a slightly sweet white miso base, and adding Chinese soba noodles made me full. I finished everything. The portion size and price were not typical of Gion, which was a pleasant surprise. Around 9 o'clock, there were fewer people, so I was able to enjoy the atmosphere of Miyagawa-cho and even encountered a maiko (apprentice geisha). I will definitely visit again.

I was feeling a bit tired and craving yakiniku, so I decided to try this place. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the meat is good for the price. I wonder if their specialty is motsunabe?! I'll have to try it next time. It was empty probably because everyone is not in the mood for yakiniku due to the continued hot weather, but I wonder if it's usually crowded here?

After finishing work and thinking about what to eat today, I wanted to visit all the yakiniku restaurants in Kyoto, but I also wanted to have hot pot. I searched on Tabelog and found this place! I made a reservation and went there right away. Although I was able to make a reservation on the same day, I recommend making a reservation in advance as the restaurant is not very large. The location was a bit hard to find but I managed to find it on my own. I entered the restaurant and the service was typical of a casual yakiniku restaurant, which made me feel comfortable. I ordered a variety of yakiniku dishes and they were okay, just average. They only had regular beef tongue so I ordered that. I could smell the unique aroma of the beef tongue. Next time, I would like to order the premium beef tongue if they have it. The hot pot was a regular hormone hot pot. It came with garlic and chili peppers, so be sure to add them and enjoy. I will definitely go back when I am in the area again!

There are nights when anyone would want to have a hot pot alone, right? But since hot pot is usually for more than one person, it can be a bit difficult... However, here they offer a hearty single serving of motsu (offal) hot pot! And guess who I found there? Ami Inamura, of all people! I couldn't believe it! Right here! Remembering her amazing swing, I started to feel a bit hesitant about diving into the hot pot alone... The appearance is typical of Kyoto, with a white miso base, and you can enjoy the ingredients all to yourself without worrying about anyone else. Of course, I went straight for the motsu! This hot pot has quite a sweet flavor, unlike the famous shops in Pontocho. It was instantly intriguing. The default ingredients may not be the most generous, but they are not too basic either. Well, there's no conversation, just eating, but it still feels a bit lonely, doesn't it? I've already had two drinks, Inamura-san... (laughs)

I visited the Ebisu Shrine in Kyoto for the first time this year during the annual Ebisu Festival. It was my first time participating in the festival and the shrine was crowded with visitors. After paying my respects, I decided to try some food from the various food stalls. I couldn't find anything I liked until I stumbled upon a restaurant called Kyoto Motsunabe Horumon Shuju. The restaurant had a casual open style with vinyl curtains and was decorated with autographs and photos of celebrities. I ordered the Kyoto Motsunabe for 1200 yen, Motsu Miso Nabe for 480 yen, and some rice. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The Motsunabe had a special sweet and spicy white miso soup with offal, cabbage, leeks, bean sprouts, and fried tofu. I also tried the Motsu Miso Nabe which had a different flavor profile with a spicy kick from shichimi pepper. Both dishes were very tasty and satisfying. I highly recommend trying them if you visit the restaurant.

First of all, the restaurant is surrounded by vinyl curtains, so if you don't like being fully visible from the outside, you might not enjoy it. But I don't mind at all, so I go there often. There are usually quite a few customers even late at night. They have motsunabe, yakiniku, horumon, and various other dishes. I always have some meat and horumon, and finish with motsunabe - a full calorie course. I'm not a big fan of horumon, but I can enjoy the motsunabe here. The base of the broth is unknown, but it is rich and delicious! It's not exactly cheap, so be careful.

I went for the first time on the way home from work on the 19th, and the taste and service were good, so I went to eat with my son and wife on this day. It was the second time, but they remembered me and it felt good. The oxtail soup was especially delicious, the grilled hormone was fresh and good, and the prices were cheap, so I recommend it!
