Blond Latte in tall size with oat milk enhances the aroma of espresso roast. It has a gentle sweetness and aroma. I got it to go. Today's drip coffee was "Pike Place Roast," a coffee from the birthplace of Starbucks Coffee in Seattle, USA. It was delicious.

Although it is a shop within the campus, it is open to the general public as well. I had a G Starbucks Latte, and my wife had a T Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino. It was a fun day of exploring. We were feeling a bit thirsty, so we both enjoyed our drinks. Cold drinks are perfect for hot days. I was almost done reading a book, so I finished it before leaving the shop. Since it was a Saturday, the crowd was a mix of students and non-students. Many people were opting for takeout, parking their cars outside. It's been a few years since I last visited Starbucks. I ordered a double espresso. I didn't realize that you have to ask for water separately. I'm not familiar with how this store operates. It's a clean cafe with trendy students. They seem to exude confidence. The coffee was indeed delicious.

It was average. The matcha and kinako combination was okay, but not great. It seemed like hojicha would go better with kinako. The service was fine and the speed of service was good. It's just a typical Starbucks.

Located right by Fukakusa Station, Starbucks within Ryukoku University is an inviting spot for general use. The entrance is bright and open, with a nice layout. I chose the Grande size White Mocha Hot, a sweet and slightly bitter Starbucks drink that is very soothing.

Located in the Fushimi area of Kyoto City, within the Ryukoku University Fukakusa Campus, near the eastern gate along the Shidan Kaido. The exterior has a simple concrete design with many terrace seats neatly arranged. The interior is a bright and open space with glass walls on three sides, creating a calm atmosphere with only table seating. The menu offers a wide variety of drinks and pastries, with the Cantaloupe Melon & Cream Frappuccino being a limited-time special priced at 630 yen for a tall size only. The cup is layered with panna cotta, melon chunks, frappuccino, and whipped cream. The orange and white contrast is visually striking, with a beautiful gradient effect. For an additional 100 yen each, you can customize by adding more melon sauce or panna cotta. The Cantaloupe Melon used is a red-fleshed Musk Melon, cut into small chunks, providing a slightly acidic yet gentle sweetness with a juicy and firm texture. The panna cotta has a rich milk flavor and a soft texture, while the frappuccino is cream-based. The restrained sweetness of the whipped cream enhances the rich aroma, allowing you to fully enjoy the luxurious taste. The shop has limited hours due to being located on the university campus, with Sundays and holidays when students are scarce being regular holidays. Despite being the first shop in a private university, it is popular among both students and the general public, making it a well-loved spot.

I have visited Kyoto many times, but personally, I have never reached the top of Fushimi Inari. During this visit, I stayed at Urban Hotel Kyoto Fushimi and went to the top early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Since the weather was starting to get warm in early summer, I took a break at a café I found near Fushimi Inari Station after coming down from the mountain. I stumbled upon this Starbucks on the way from Fukakusa Station to my accommodation. It's located inside a building on a university campus, but open to the public with an entrance from outside the campus as well. The main differences are that they are closed on Sundays and holidays and close a bit early. It had a tranquil atmosphere with students working part-time. I had an iced coffee, which had a taste similar to Australian long black coffee with a charcoal-brewed espresso flavor. It was a bit light for my liking, I wished it had a richer taste. It would be nice if Starbucks-loving tourists from Europe and the US stopped by on their way back from Fushimi Inari (laughs).

The nearest station is Keihan Electric Railway's Fukakusa Station, and for JR it's Inari Station on the Nara Line. It's just a 2-minute walk from Fukakusa Station to Ryukoku University's Fukakusa Campus! As soon as you enter, on the left-hand side, there is a group of benches where students who commute by train gather! During busy times, this is a good spot to enjoy a drink! You can also see the terrace seats from here. This Starbucks at Ryukoku University is the first to open at a private university. You can enter from inside the campus or from the public road side. The Starbucks logo and text are simply stuck on the concrete, blending in with the surroundings. The terrace seats are quite nice. The interior of the store is also simple, with the floor left as plain concrete, reminiscent of the Starbucks in Ebisu. I visited on a weekday morning when there were lectures, but student usage was quite low. Although it could be convenient for students during breaks between classes, they didn't seem too interested in having morning coffee there. Well, the prices are what they are. Still, I envy university students who can attend a university with a Starbucks. But it seems like the turnover rate would be really low...笑.

I dropped by the Starbucks that recently opened in my neighborhood. It is located near the east gate of Ryukoku University in Fushimi Ward, just a short walk from Keihan Railway's Fukakusa Station. I was surprised to see a Starbucks in Fushimi Ward, as there are usually only Starbucks in the central area of Kyoto. After looking into it, I found out that this is the fourth Starbucks located on a university campus in Japan, following Tokyo University, Tsukuba University, and Nagoya University. It seems like the university invited Starbucks to open a store there. As I expected, most of the customers were Ryukoku University students. University students really seem to love Starbucks, don't they? Although I don't usually go to Starbucks, I ordered a Starbucks Latte with soy milk. The service was charming and cute, but it seemed like they may not be too keen on elaborate customizations. Despite being on campus, it is conveniently located right near the entrance gate, making it easy for the general public to access. The drink was delicious. Thank you for the meal!
