Seafood and sometimes pork marinated rice bowl special + sauce cutlet
Today, I fiercely attacked the Seafood and sometimes Pork restaurant in Oshoji-cho, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. I liked the name of this restaurant, but actually, I was planning to go to a curry restaurant first... However, if I ate curry first and then something bland, it wouldn't make for a good review... so I decided to bring this restaurant that I had in stock for the second and third visits as the first one. It's been about 3 months since I've eaten sashimi outside... so it was a good timing.
I arrived at the restaurant around noon... There were about 3 groups of customers already there. The first thing that caught my eye was the rice bowl with various ingredients priced at over 1500 yen! Although I don't have any particular dislikes, I wasn't too interested in having something I didn't like too much on top of it... so I passed on that. Next, I was interested in the customizable one! With a maximum of 32 pieces of sashimi on it, it seemed interesting for the blog, but being a first-time visitor, I was a bit afraid of what kind of quality would come out, so I avoided it... After much contemplation, I chose the marinated rice bowl! The ingredients are all popular ones, and by marinating them, even if the quality is a bit... ahem... I like to take risks, but well, let's play it safe... so I ordered it. The default rice amount is 250g, and for an additional 160 yen, you can double the amount (500g) as a special. It's quite a reasonable additional charge! Also, since the restaurant's name is Seafood and sometimes Pork, I added a sauce cutlet as a joke. There was a cute penguin soy sauce dispenser on the table... Wow, I really want this... He bought one the other day and was prpr at home, but it didn't become a big deal... Anyway... After about 4 minutes of waiting, the food I ordered arrived safely... The sauce cutlet I added for 230 yen is this... The marinated rice bowl special for 1080 yen + sauce cutlet for 230 yen... Is this a price that matches the quality? It might look more delicious if you spread it out a bit more and minimize the amount of white rice visible. Just as a beginner's opinion... Let's change the angle... The surface area is about the same as 2 pieces of fish...? Considering that the tonkatsu at major bento shops or franchise shops specializing in fried foods costs around 350 yen per piece, the price of 230 yen for a size smaller than half seems a bit expensive... Now, let's eat. ...or rather, marinated... I could only think of tuna... Is it just that tuna is famous? Let's write down the taste impressions in order!! Below, I write soy sauce, but of course, I am writing about a mixture of mirin and cooking sake boiled down... Squid marinated: It seems much tastier than just dipping sashimi in soy sauce like when you eat sashimi normally! It has a mild flavor with a unique sweetness... like squid, but the savory aroma and flavor of soy sauce have permeated nicely, giving it a punchier flavor compared to raw squid.
