I met up with a friend for lunch after a long time, and they treated me to a bit of luxury by making a reservation for an afternoon tea course at a certain site. With a 20% discount, the total came to 5,200 yen including tax. As soon as we entered the restaurant, the staff greeted us with soft and pleasant words, making me feel that it was a lovely place. The view of greenery and water outside the window was calming, and I even saw a little bird flying by, which was very soothing. The dishes that were served were all beautifully presented and delicious, and the staff who explained them to us were very polite. I love tea, so I was happy to be able to choose from various types of tea and have it served right in front of me, which added a special touch to the experience. Although I initially thought the price was a bit high when making the reservation, by the time we finished eating, I was completely satisfied and felt it was worth it. I made a reservation through the Ichigyu-san website. Since it was a last-minute booking (3 days before), I was able to reserve it for over 1500 yen cheaper per person (^-^) Lucky. I could choose from about 7 types of tea, and I chose honeysuckle and honey tea. The combination of scones and tea was delicious. The other flavors were average, but I was satisfied with the afternoon tea atmosphere. The sesame ice cream at the end had a strong sesame flavor. Thank you for the meal.

I love afternoon tea and have visited various shops, but this was my first time at the restaurant in Ace Hotel Kyoto. I couldn't find it at first, so I asked at the first floor and was directed to the third floor for the afternoon tea. The restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere, with high ceilings and large windows overlooking beautiful greenery outside. The spacing between tables was generous, allowing for a relaxed experience. Each item on the menu was delicious and of high quality, with stylish plate presentations that were visually appealing. It has become one of the restaurants I would like to visit again.

If you claim to be a food connoisseur, then you must visit Noma in Copenhagen several times. In the West, French cuisine has always been at the top, but suddenly a genius named Ferran Adria appeared in Spain and caused the previously top French cuisine to fall from its pedestal due to his influence. Ferran's influence not only turned the French culinary world upside down but also influenced chefs worldwide, leading to the emergence of a genius in Denmark to replace Ferran. That genius is the owner and chef of Noma, René Redzepi. In a sense, René's arrival has turned the culinary world upside down more than Ferran. Prior to René's emergence, the fine dining genre did not exist in Denmark or the rest of Scandinavia. Many foodies from around the world have flocked to restaurants in Copenhagen over the past decade, attracted by the truly new cuisine that has emerged. Young chefs are also taking on countless internships to study not only French cuisine but also Noma's innovative cuisine. This time, they brought all 100 staff members from the main restaurant. The menu development staff has been living in Kyoto with their families for almost six months, and René has been living with his family for three months before the opening. For a restaurant that is only open for 8 weeks. As a result, everything was upgraded perfectly compared to when they did a pop-up in Tokyo last time. The interior of the restaurant is all Noma's world. There may not be another restaurant in the world that is as meticulous as this one. As for the food, while using many familiar ingredients to us Japanese, the combinations with other ingredients are all from an unfamiliar perspective to Japanese people, making our heads spin from the first appetizer to the final dessert! I kept thinking about how they could come up with such ideas. I feel fortunate to have been born in the same era as René Redzepi. Just a happy night. It seems that they will close the Copenhagen main restaurant next year and only focus on product development and a few pop-ups a year afterward, but I definitely want to visit before they close. While looking through old photos, I remembered that I went to Noma Kyoto. I even joked to myself, "You forgot about Noma!" I managed to make a reservation and traveled to Kyoto. The chefs and staff were all so lively and it was truly inspiring to see. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of joy and enjoyment of food rather than a solemn dining experience. The dishes were not made with rare ingredients, but the concept and presentation of the food were truly unique. The wine pairing was well thought out and the staff were very knowledgeable, providing us with plenty of information. I had high expectations due to the price, but they exceeded them. At the end, René himself came to our table to explain the dishes and concept, which was very moving. I would love to visit again, but it may be financially challenging. I hope to experience it again at least once in my lifetime.

I had an afternoon tea set at the 3F Garden Dining of Ace Hotel Kyoto Karasuma Oike, themed on American sweets & savory. The chairs were cute and the ceiling had a Kyoto touch, very lovely. Among the sweets, I particularly liked the cheesecake and ice cream cookie sandwich. The savory items included a cold potato and leek soup and quiche. The variety of drinks was free-flowing. Afternoon tea with a discount from Ikkyu. Free-flow service with cups instead of pots. Limited variety of tea but a wide selection of juices and other drinks. All the food is delicious, made with care and satisfying. The portion size is moderate. Some people might find it lacking in quantity, but I enjoyed the drinks, so I give it a high rating.
